BBC Steps Twelve Week Language CoursesThe BBC also offers free language classes online. You sign up and they email the lessons to you. Here's the little description from the site:

Sign up for the Steps, Ma France and Mi Vida Loca Courses and we'll send you a weekly email offering encouragement and tips to help your language learning. And it's free of charge!

The aim is for you to complete a course in 12 weeks, followed by an 'end of course' assessment to see how well you've done. You'll even get a BBC certificate! You can choose from six different courses in four languages: French Steps, Ma France, Spanish Steps, Mi Vida Loca, German Steps and Italian Steps.

Gizmo's TSA has the newest about Stanford courses:

Stanford Engineering professors are offering three of the University's most popular computer science courses online for free.

The three courses, Machine Learning, Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, and Introduction to Databases start October 10, 2011 and go through December.
Registration is expected to start in September.
While online classes offer enormous learning opportunities and other benefits, college credits or a college degree aren't included. :)...

Newcomers can still claim Red Faction and Red Faction II, all the others have provisionally been awarded to the first persons to ask above pending a message from Deserthead. If no one else claims the two red faction games they will go to ibwebb and Etnies - you've got approx 5 hours left to claim. Please check some you tube videos to make sure you will play the game. I'd rather give these games to those who will definitely play them as opposed to taking because they were free.

to Deserthead, seeing as you missed the first 6 giveaways I'll accept your position as first for the latest batch of freebies, so please tell me if there is anything you'd like. You'll need to reply before I announce the winners later today (about 3pm GMT)

I will only accept the first three games in any list that a member posts, (I asked for a first second and third choice in my post above, no more).

All these games being given away apart from the first one that Wizz gave away (Dirt 3) are games that we (me and pavid) acquired by pre-ordering several games from Steam, for example when we pre-ordered Red Faction: Armageddon we were given copies of all three previous games. As we both already had these games (because we also pre-ordered the last game Red Faction Guerrilla), which also came with free copies of Red Faction and Red faction II is seemed like a good idea to give them away. Thankfully Steam has allowed us to gift the spare copies (they don't always). These games are full version games. We give them away with no strings attached. Once they have been given they are yours to do with as you please. Good luck to all those who have posted.

Please remember if you've already claimed a game previously you will be put to the bottom of the list (to make it fair). I really should have made it a lottery as opposed to a first come first served, but I’ll stick by what I said.

I would greatly appreciate any of the Red Factions. I have wanted to try them and never had a chance.. therefore any of them would be greatly appreciated.
