I don't understand what your problem is but it is at your end. There was a game yesterday (a racing game that I skipped) and today is "Atlantis Quest".

Well, I checked yesterday (Sunday) and there was no game. I thought, ok, they're not going to put up a game on Sunday's anymore (they used to put up screen savers on Sunday and no game, but apparently that's changed too). Then I look this morning (Monday) and still no game. What gives?

Maybe they are having a quiet period and running short of available games.

Hey, that never occurred to me! Good point. It's possible that this "vacation" is actually just GotD running out of companies to contact. There have been, after all, several reruns and repeat companies... :<
The software suggestion forum looks pretty bare once you strip away all the freeware threads. Unfortunately, I don't have anything to suggest at the moment since most of my tools I'm happy with.

I dunno about adware downloads, but the site is fairly frank about you having to see ads when running certain games - this is called adware. Their privacy statement seems fairly rigid, though I did spot a potential loophole (I say potential because I'm no lawyer ;>).

I have had the most fun games for a few months and I love it. Play any and all the games for as long as you want and never have to pay. They add new games about once a week and they offer something for everyone.

I found a website for games that may fill in for thoes who just have to have a new game every day. It is mostfun.com. The games are not timed. You can play as much , as long, and as often as you like. It is supported by sponsers so you will see a brief ad before and after each session. The one before you have to watch but the one after you can skip.Some of the ads are intertaining in themselves, [hope you see the one with the german coast guard.] You must download the mostfun player and choose games from their list which will be loaded into the player. Nothing is put on your desk top except the mostfun icon. You must click the icon to choose and play. I have had it for three weeks now and I have had no problems with it except Super Granny will only allow the small screen version without paying. The games are first quality, some of them featured on giveaway but not given except Ingenious which was given last week or two. Glyph, Luxor, Zenerichi, cake mania......there are many to choose from. It is my new fav until Gamegiveaway returns. There are not forums or comments associated with mostfun, which is one of the things I like and find most fun about giveaway of the Day. While I don't know how many programs or games are "waiting" for their "day to be given away" (I assume GOTD doesn't have a backlog of thousands of games and programs) - If they giveaway 6 programs and 1 game each week instead of 5 programs and 2 games - it might be because they can only give away what they have "available". Maybe they are having a quiet period and running short of available games.

Again, I don't know why - and I don't think any user can "guess" with any certainty.

Apology accepted, but I was much more interested in why the link to the games had been removed. Have the games been moved to another location or are the games going to be limited to just one on weekends? I haven't been able to find anything that addresses that concern.

Sorry to have been rude, ashara5, but it's as BuBBy says: It gets annoying when people keep asking when GotD will be back. (Read those first six or so results and you'll not only get an idea of what I'm talking about, but you'll also get your answer in one of those threads ;>)

Besides the comments on the main page, and the forums.. you can also view the admins blogs. Look for the link on the main page. That'll usually give you info from the site admins themselves without wading through the garbage here in the forum and the lame comments about the software.

Other's have asked this question? I looked and couldn't find anything about the game link being gone. The vacation thing was more of an aside though (didn't check to see if that had been asked).

I think people are getting sick of the same question being asked each day. I must admit it does start to sound like a whinging child in the back seat, asking every 5 minutes, "are we there yet?" :/

No, not jealous at all as I've not worked outside my home for the last five years (otherwise known as retirement) but I do miss the games. Why are you so aggressive? Why does it upset you that someone asks a question?

I believe they said it would be about a month, but don't quote me on that. They should be back in Sept.. :>

I don't begrudge them their vacation, they deserve it! But could they give us an indication of when they will be back. I just don't want to miss any of the game giveaways and I look forward to the new free games site! Please let us know when to come back for the new giveaways. Thanks!
