Yes I have a 64mb graphics card. I will try the screen resolution at some time, won't be for a while, as I have just switched to broadband, having problems and need to get those sorted out first. Thanks Diane.

Another thing you can try is to use these settings:
(in the option tab of the game)
- set the screen resolution to 800x600 and set it to 'windowed'.

Freegamepick was the last site I downloaded it from and never downloaded their toolbar. The first site I downloaded it from which I cannot remember the name of and the game has a different name, never had the toolbar download, I have also downloaded it from Gametop. The same problem has occurred with this game from all 3 sites.

Remember that FreeGamePick is really pushy about that toolbar. If you turn it down during installation, they set the shortcuts to push you every time and if you say no, the game won't run. There is a simple work-around.

Set your Windows Explorer to show hidden files (if not already set).
Go to the folder where the game was installed.
Find game.exe and create a shortcut of that file.
Rename the shortcut as desired.
Used the NEW shortcut instead of the one that was created during install.
If you set the Explorer to show hidden, turn that back off (if desired).

It works and no more problems with the ask toolbar!

When you installed the game did you allow all the toolbars to be installed (Freegamepick and Ask) plus allow your beowser to be hijacked? If so i presume you will have re set your home page. did this affect starting up the game, or are you not getting it to start at all? I'm just thinking that if you have reverted to your default home page, it's stopping the game from working. I know with most of MyPlayCity games the game wont work unless you have your home page set to MyPlayCity and that you have the toolbars up and running. Turning them off blocks the games. After installing two of the most recent FreeGamesPick games I found that to play the game you had to leave ALL the boxes checked, which meant having 2 toolbars installed and your home page hijacked (which is what MyPlaycity do with most of their games now). If I tried to uncheck any of them the play button woul grey out and not allow you toplay the game.

Some MyPlayCity games do work without having to install anything, but not many of them. I think MyPlaycity started out the same as FreeGamesPick, in that you didn't have to install any of the junk they ask you to now, but as time has passed they have increasingly used this technique to force you into using their services (which basically pays for the game). Thankfully Gametops games are still able to be played without installing any of this junk, though they have jumped on the band wagon in a minor way by including the option to install the junk. :)

I downloaded a few from MyPlayCity. I unchecked the toolbar/homepage boxes & they seem OK so far. I've been playing one game on & off all day & so far it hasn't forced me to get the toolbar or change my homepage.

Thanks Quantum Dragon; feeling much better this week. Seemed to have got some energy from somewhere. The problem you saw was with my keyboard. I'm alittle annoyed at it because it cost me around $100 an i've already taken one back for doing the same thing.

As for Freegamepick games, I've only just discovered that they have reverted to MyPlaycity practices; that is forcing you to install toolbars etc. Iunless you don't mind changing your home page and putting up with extra toolbars, the most recent freegamepick games will not be worth installing. I usually test all the games I post about, but sometime miss doing so. This is one of those occassions. I was sure freegamepick was okay as they have never asked for toolbar insertions etc previously; now they have gone the whole hog. I'll have to place a warning on the post above.

Maybe switching from 'full screen' to 'windowed' (in the option tab) will reduce cpu drainage and should make the game more responsive.

Has anyone downloaded and played Secret of six seas? I have downloaded this several times, but am unable to play it, as soon as I press the play button the game freezes, and the only way to get out of it is to turn the computer off.

Unfortunately Freegamepick have now started the same practice as MyPlaycity, with repect to forcing you to agree to having a toolbar included plus your browser hijacked. without agreeing to these you are unable to play the games. You'll probably find their earlier games are still free from this, but I can't be sure. Looks like we've lost a valuable source of free games. at least Gametop still allow you to play the games even if you refuse all offers.
