There were several others that I didn't post for that reason, they were gambling sites. I myself am not opposed to gambling, I just never win so I don't bother. I also don't think I would gamble online. I would think it would be very easy to get scammed.

Thanks for posting those HOSS, I tend to shy away from gambling associated games for some reason. I'm one of those people who have never been into a betting shop or bet on the Races, even a sweepstake. The only time I ever paid out for anything involving chance was when I was in the corporals mess and we were asked to contribute towards the Christmas raffle, so I bought £20 worth of tickets (which in 1976 was a fortune) I just had the money spare, so bought all these tickets 10 tickets to a book at £1 each. I really thought I had a chance of winning at least one prize, of which there were around 50, most of which were good prizes like real oil paintings, collectable china and color TV's (which in the 70's were very expensive). I never won anything, but a colleague, who'd bought one book of 10 stamps won four prizes, lol - so I never spent another money on anything that involved betting - so those sorts of games for some reason I shy away from.

I'll be updating this thread with a list of threads that contain links to free games sometime soon. As robm says, it's a good idea to keep them all in one place, though I also think that if you have named games such as the Cradle of Persia game from a few weeks ago (no longer available by the way)it sould also be posted as a seperate thread so that you can see the name in the threads. Oay it's a pain posting twice, but it helps to stop threads being buried as the number of forum threads are increasing every day (ob' lol)

regards

Thanks Catnip, there are a couple here which haven't been posted before. Also scroll up this page and previous for some more links to free games.

It is easier for us all if we try to keep the free game links on the one thread. Cheers!

I only have a second, so I hope that I'm repeating games that have already been listed. I wanted to post quickly before I have to leave.

Hidden Chapter 1 - Primitive Essence:

WhiteRabbit.....excellent advice on the computer clock reset! Thanks for posting it.

I did that same kind of thing back when everyone was afraid of computers crashing when the year 2000 came. On New Year's eve, I simply reset my old PC back about 10 years, and I never had a problem. After all, the PC only thinks it's a certain date because it is told it is. I may not have had a problem anyway, but better safe than sorry.

The link to the free version of Cradle of Persia has been removed because the set up file was only active for four days.To anyone who downloaded that game and kept the original set up file; if you try to use it now you will find that it no longer works; however, if you reset your computers clock 'temporarily' to the date you originally downloaded the set up file, you will find the set up ill work. Once the game has been installed you can then change the date back to the correct adate.

If you can't remember when you downloaded the file, right click on the set up file and select properties. From the information given in the window pane you can see when the file was created, which is the date it was downloaded. Use that date to be able to reuse the set up file. Cradle of Persia is similar to games such as Age of Japan, Rise of Atlantis and Big Kahuna Reef; and in my opinion as good. It's well worth keeping if you were lucky enought to get the free game. :)

p.s.

Thanks Funkymom :)

I've just tried Kaboodle and found it quite challenging. It's a well made freeware program, that as Creamypretzel said is unlike anything I've got as well. Though looking at it you may at first glance mistakle it for a match three, ot a collapse game. It seems to be a cross between collapse and tetris. Definitely one worth downloading. thank you for finding that one. :)

This site offers 101 Free Full Version Games to download and is different from the 1up page above. There is bound to be several to choose from.

http://www.download-free-games.com/freeware_games/

Another new site is Gamewagon which is also not shareware. The downloadable selection is limited to about 15 but there are some great online games such as Hidden Expedition Titanic, Mystery Case Files Ravenhurst, Virtual Villagers 2 and Star Defender 4.

http://www.gameswagon.com/en/

Sorry if the links dont work out, I cant seem to figure what is wrong with that, I haven't had this problem before. Anyway please enjoy these sites and thanks to all in the forum for presenting the freeware games selection in a succint and accessible way.

Cheers

How well do yo know your fonts? In the Rather Difficult Font Game you try to identify 34 randomly generated font examples. I'm not even going to tell you how bad I did. :)

Here's a game I found today called "STICKY TAPES". A nice puzzle game and different from others I've seen and played. The web page has links to 5 screenshots. I've played a few levels so far, and it gets harder and harder. And when you replay a level, it is never the same, which means you can't memorize your way through the game. It does take a while to get used to the controls. You are only allowed so many clicks, and I keep wasting clicks when I hit the wrong arrow. You'll see what I mean.....

Here is a nice game I discovered today, and of course, it is free. It's called "KABOODLE", and it is NOT a match-3 type. I have only worked in the Puzzle Mode. It seems easy at first, but gets progressively harder. I must say that it is unlike any game I already had. -Dan

This game is no pushover.....well, actually, it is! This game is called PUSHOVER, and it is a remake of an old Amiga game and is very nicely done. Another great puzzle-type game. And ANY game that features a character named "G.I.Ant" can't help but be good.

Enjoy solving the 100 levels. Or at least TRYING to.....
