Downloaded and installed without a problem (note you need to restart the prog to complete registration). The REAL benefit of this against the others is it's ability to allow you to type your headline or whatever and then view it in all installed fonts. You can then select several fonts and compare against each other, plus check what each font looks like in bold, italic, underline. Up and down arrow buttons allow enlargement and reduction of font size. Bulletproof UI and a minimal ask of the CPU and memory.
Far and away the best I've used.

Finally...a program I could really use, but I missed it. Why? Because when I was trying yesterday the SITE WOULDN'T LOAD!!! It would be nice if there were some provision for things like this. Maybe having users send an email (which would be time stamped) so that they could receive in return a link that would allow them another shot at it.

I installed TheFontThing and then I installed FontManager from GOTD. FontManager looks better IMHO. But when it says "The program is available for $29.95, but it will be free for our visitors as a time-limited offer." does this mean the program will cease operating one day? Or is it good forever? I'm always suspicious when it says time-limited offer.

A free unlock code can be obtained from our website by simply submitting your e-mail address. Once you have obtained this code, simply enter your information into the boxes provided and you will then have unlimited use of Font Frenzy™ and no "nag" screen will appear.

So the price of Font Frenzy is to provide your email address and subject yourself to more spam than you get already! Unless a freeware program is really exceptional, this would be enough to make me pass on it.

As one who likes to collect and use a variety of freeware fonts, this program will be very handy. Some of the fonts I've downloaded in the past looked easy to read on their sample pages, but when I actually tried to use them, proved to be difficult for other people to try to read!

This is great, to be able to see all the fonts so I can sort them into categories and only load the ones that I really need, into Windows itself.

Still, as always, I'll check out the freeware links and add them to a list I have so that if I ever have HD crash, I have sources for more freeware alternatives to this program.

I was a little apprehensive about downloading this, as many font programs I have used are very basic and don't offer much more than a single solution. However, the install was easy and while I still have some exploring to do, this is very well done. Simple, but with the functions I need.
When you're doing graphic design, finding the right font can be a pain - especially when you have thousands (seriously). With this program, I can type in the text I'm working with and then browse the fonts. The real treat being able to load the fonts I haven't installed for comparison.

GAotD may not always have something I'm interested in, but today I got something for FREE that is worth more than the price I paid ($0 out of pocket). That makes up for all the days I skip on.

By the way I tried the two free recommendations here; AMP ran as a plain user (after the first error was dismissed); The Font Thing didn't run as a user at all. Running both as Admin, I preferred the user interface of today's offering over both of them, though AMP as a fair second. The Font Thing was a very Windows3.1 interface.

None of them are designed to cope with truly large font sets. I once ran a font identification search engine so I have about 20,000-odd fonts and ordinary font managers don't cut it. Some sort of hierarchy is needed and an automatic classification scheme.

Also, for anyone interested in fonts, some of the reports at the page below are an absolute must-read: ... http://www.sanskritweb.net/forgers.htm
