Workaround for the Access Violation Error: I also had the above mentioned error. I have Win 7 Prof 64 & Office 2010. Changing the app's compatibility mode (Right click/Troubleshoot Compatibility/...) worked for me. I believe now mine is set to 'Win XP'.
