..the scene with the song ‘Shapoopie’ IS longer/better
than the original Warner Bros soundtrack on CD -

Granted you’ll hear some sound effects surrounding/within
the selected songs in films, but I truly enjoy just listening
to the stereo music on a file, not having to insert a DVD to
watch the scenes

Thank you for the program, since I have recently been listening to videos on my iPod as I work or walk, and now the battery can last much longer without having to run the video as well as the audio. Please, however, let people opt out of the home page change. Thank you.

And I’m not talking about the GOTD bookmarks/favorites dialog at the end of installing all GOTD apps. This is done by Extra’s part of the install.

(p.s., I’ve listened to the soundtrack of Aliens and 13th Warrior on long drives, late at night to keep me awake!)

1. Application shut down (disappeared) during the first minute of trying to convert “The Sound of Music.” I heard the DVD drive working for about 30 seconds, then poof! Maybe it’s a DRM problem? Maybe it didn’t like that I blanked out the “Author” box?

2. Help is, well, approximate.
2a. There’s a question mark “?” that has rollover text “Get local help,” but it goes out to the internet (dvdcopyrip.com).
2b. There’s a dollar sign “?” that has no rollover text and goes to the same page.
2c. When you drill down on the page to “Step by Step Guide,” you get the directions for the latest version, with a different GUI.

3. Select WAV and it displays MP3 settings. What will happen? Guess I’ll just try it …

4. How to start? Newer version has “Load…” button per website directions. No such button on 6.07. Click, click, Ah, it’s the “+” button…

That’s it, it whirs, it ends. OK, might be my fault, DRM’s fault, my computer’s fault. But just too many chinks in the armor, not counting hijacking the IE home page.

I won’t give it a thumbs down as I can’t say it won’t be useful to someone else (Ashraf got it to work converting to MP3.) But gah, I hope GiveawayOfTheDay can get its money back on this one, if it’s really as crappy as it seems to be to me: more Alpha than Beta quality. They actually sold this version?!

I can’t imagine the uninstall works properly either. Shoulda set a restore point.
