well, I have download the eFlip Lite and find there are some its own merits and demerits, at any rate, it's such one powerful tool that worth while to have a try, besides this, I also know the similar software xFlip flip book software: http://www.xflip.com I have been using it for a period of time and find it really very easy to use, so I decide to use the xFlip software for ever, have a nice day! everyone!!!

Giovanni and Ashraf have always been outstanding reviewers at GAOTD. Really appreciate their input on current giveaways and alternate choices. Giovanni is so correct about the thumbs up and down choices, does not give a true picture of the software offered. Just because it is not for you it is not fair for the company that is offering it "FREE" to have a bad review with thumbs down. Unfortunately some will just look at that rating and brush off a great piece of software. Try the software, you can uninstall, but give it a chance. I can't give a review as installing it shortly to give a try. Please GAOTD change the rating system and thanks Giovanni for the reviews you do.

Their website Says "Output mobile version HTML5 flipbooks to view in the browser of iPhone, iPad and Android directly.", yet none of the mobile demo's even on their site worked on my iPad.

@Petr and kathy: The program can help to convert JPG, JPEG, PNG, BMP format images.

@erina: Sorry for that offer on GAOTD, please create account on our server first and then tell us your email: support@pageflippdf.com , we will provide you 3GB space to host your flip books.

@Sam: Thanks for your testing, sorry that the Lite version can't help to convert PDF files, but you can use Standard version (http://www.pageflippdf.com/pageflip-pdf-to-flash/index.html ) or Pro version (http://www.pageflippdf.com/pageflip-pdf-to-flash-pro/index.html ) instead.

@cadery: Sorry for the issue you encountered, it might for the IE or online template, how this issue happened? Could you please tell us more details: support@pageflippdf.com ?
And sorry that to convert PDF and manage imported pages, you can use Pro version: http://www.pageflippdf.com/pageflip-pdf-to-flash-pro/index.html . More professional and wonderful features provided in this Pro version.

@JaneSmith: The program can help to convert JPG, JPEG, PNG, BMP format images. What issue you encountered? Or please tell us more details via email: support@pageflippdf.com .

@XP-Man and kayla: Sorry for the interface issue, you can go to the main template process interface, click "Import File->Import Image" to add images and create flipbooks.

@Thumbs even: Thanks for your detail feedback, we will fix those issues you mentioned, and publish new version in the near future.

@Luca: I'm sorry for the issue, would you please send your RTF file to us as reference: support@pageflippdf.com ?

@Claudio: Sorry for the page info, the Lite version just can convert TXT, RTF and Images at present. Sorry. If you want to convert PPT file, you can have a try on Flip PowerPoint software: http://www.flipbuilder.com/flip-powerpoint/ .

@Steve Barrett: Sorry that the Lite version can't help to convert PDF files, or you can use Standard version instead: http://www.pageflippdf.com/pageflip-pdf-to-flash/index.html . And both the Lite and Standard versions can output HTML5 book which you can view output book on iPad, iPhone and Android devices.

There are always SO many harsh comments, and not just on the software. WHY? Is there some good reason that people in this age need to be SO hard on each other? You can comment constructively without being SO harsh, right? Well, more to the point, GAOTD software is FREE. What part of FREE do you not understand? Just go to the website, read the information about the program, and if it serves your needs, then download and install and activate it through GAOTD. NO rocket science involved. RIGHT? Sorry if you disagree with me, but I call it like I see it. At any rate, THANK YOU, GAOTD for FREE programs. Some programs I don't want or need, and some I do want and/or need. MY budget LOVES free in either case.

I maked an account and a try of the program. Wat they tell is not the the truth (on http://www.pageflippdf.com/eflip-lite/index.html). Program didn't work very well. I deinstall. There was 6,13 MB leftover in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINDOWS\Application Data\flipBook and some little rules in the registry. To remove by hand. Good night!

@GAOTD,
I agree that a "Not Interested", or "More like this" vote would be a very good idea. I can understand the... let's call it confusion, of those who vote a product down just because they are not interested in it. It feels like feedback on what types of programs the site visitors want to see.

@Everybody
I also agree with those who would like to get some simple questions answered before they attempt to install a program, because as we all are very well aware, excessive installing and removal of programs can cause serious issues on a Windows installation, up to and including requiring reinstallation of the OS. So I very well understand those who are reluctant to "Just try it out". But, as some have pointed out, before they post questions they need to explore the vendor's website. In fact, GAOTD should state that up front, and also provide links to the vendor's FAQs and online documentation. Sometimes people just don't think of checking for that stuff, it couldn't hurt to remind them.

Anyway, that's just my opinion.

@PDF PageFlip Software:

I would like to point out that I found the language in the GAOTD description to be confusing, particularly the ...for converting Image, RTF Text in flip page format." That is a very poorly constructed sentence, and implies that there is an "Image, RTF Text" format. There needs to be AT LEAST an "and" in there. Better yet, by also adding the word "files" after the names of the filetypes, changing the word "to" to "into" and adding a the before "flip page format" you increase readability even more. Here is the proper form,

"...for converting Image and RTF Text files into the flip page format."
Another acceptable form would be to make Image plural (since Image is not a file type but a description / category of file types) like:
"...for converting Images and RTF Text files into the flip page format."

It seems to me that you would benefit from having a native english speaker fix the grammar of your webpage and documentation. If for no other reason than english speakers tend to consider those kind of grammar issues to reflect poorly on the credibility of your company, creating a barrier to some first time buyers. Your company may be great and reliable and your software top-notch, but poor grammer creates an impression of you being a "fly-by-night" (here today, gone tomorrow get-rich-quick) company who doesn't put the needed resources into a product. It may be an unfair impression, but there it is.

Installed fine, no issues so far on Win7/64. My interest in flip books is for photos. This program handles them better than the last flip book program I tried, Flip Image. This program sets a default image size to the size of the first image, and also allows setting of an image size, though it doesn't indicate what gauge you're entering (inches, centimeters, pixels, etc.). After you've chosen the default or set a custom size, it then fits the remaining photos within that size. Flip Image just cropped the images so you got partial images.

eFlip Lite would work for my purposes (genealogy) except the images are actually resized and lose resolution, so if they are later zoomed into, and there appears to be only one step of zoom in, the image isn't a sufficient resolution to see the detail.

So it would be nice if the original resolution of the image were retained, and the program allowed zooming in to full resolution. This would be useful in a wide range of uses from product manuals, product brochures, exploding diagrams, and maps, just to mention a few. It's something PDF files manage to be able to do quite well.

There is no option available for me to use image files and the only reason I downloaded and installed it was to test this feature. The only file types I can get it to accept/see are .txt and .rtf. Oddly enough, the standard version will not recognize .txt files. I will try installing it on my desktop. In the meantime I attempted to download a trial version of the software from the page link provided above. Not only can I not download from it but as of now, there is no way to even purchase it despite the "buy" and "Download" buttons.

why don't you add a "not interested" option to the thumbs-up and thumbs-down rating area? would end this 80% down thing that affects so many products.

Agree with Giovanni. The rating system is simply broken, badly broken.

Each piece of software should have two ratings. One is for people who have used the software to rate it according to how well it does its stated purpose. The second rating should be according to whether this software offer is of any interest to that person. This second rating would be mainly valuable to GAOTD so they will know what kind of software the community wants to see.

I installed the software and immediately found that it was severally crippled. Although it indicated that I could use PDF input, I was not able to access any PDF files for import. The identified file types are so limited that I was unable to find any on my computer. In my opinion, without support for MS Word, JPEG, GIF and PDF this is basically "crippleware" that really isn't worth retaining on my system. Thumbs down on this tool.

The idea of flip books has been around for quite a while and back when Flash was a hot item on the Internet they were great. What is needed now is a flip book that will create and HTML5 image.

Quite a nice program that does its job but has many glitches:
- watermarks from user images are not visible on text files, only as a shadow when moused over if you attached a link to it
- watermarks are not availabe at all on images
- changing watermarks is only available during import
- you can either have 1 source file (txt/rtf) or multiple images (jpg/png/bmp) but you can't mix text with images
- if you first import text and import images afterwards the right hand side thumbnail view will still show the former text pages
- general issues regarding the ui

Apart from that there's a lot you can do:
- select from a wide range of templates (more supplied online) for the general appearance
- add animated backgrounds
- supply your own logo for the top toolbar
- choose which buttons will be visible in the interface
- select multiple languages for the interface (actually more than are available for the program itself, e.g. german)

For now it's working for me but I'll also have a look at the free alternatives esp. MegaZine3 which probably is the engine all these programs work on.

Surprised that I could not directly import image files but only RTF files and text files.
A test on a small text file, less than 1K, increased in size to 9K not a bad overhead for this type of program.

The program itself is simple to use and the output very attractive but this light version is very limited because of its import restrictions.

Well, what they say on their page for eFLip Lite is "Create unlimited digital publications form Image, RTF and Microsoft Powerpoint" and "eFLip Lite is a unique professional and flexible tool for converting Image, RTF Text and Microsoft Powerpoint in flip page format". (No PDF.)

That does not seem overly clear to me.

@ #4 Kellox: Why should I download and test anything before I know if it has any potential use for me? I think mine was a sensible question, which the publisher should answer. They say "Image, RTF Text", but not what kinds of image files.

#3--in pulling up this program after installing it I attempted to see how much free space you actually get; I did not create an account as yet but by going to the information page: http://www.pageflippdf.com/faq/free-online-upload-service.html
it states there that I would received 5 gig free space.
This downloaded version is in fact e-flip lite version 3.9 as stated in the about area of the installed program together with a license # after I activated it.

I have download and used this tool. These are my impression
Advantage:
It has strong built-in functions as demo, manage online books; especially it embeds sound tutorial etc. It has the most built-in functions of flip book software that i have used so far. But I also raised several questions:

1. "Error occurred". I encounter this bug after several minutes.
"Method 'initToSelectedMode' not supported by automation object."

2. It only support import RTF, txt and images. It is less than other popular flip book software as Kvisoft flip book maker. Kvisoft flip book maker allows to import PDF, images, SWF and video. I suggest it support importing PDF at least!

3. It cannot manage imported files. If users want to delete or add one single file, they have to re-import.

Giveawayoftheday offered one similar tool before: Kvisoft flip book maker. http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/kvisoft-flipbook-maker/

Its page http://www.kvisoft.com/flipbook-maker/

Both tools have their own advantages:
Kvisoft is more easy and stable. Its interface is more simple and intuitive
Eflip has stronger built-in functions. And so it may be more unstable and its interface is more dazzling.

The most important is it cannot import PDF! So I will continue to use Kvisoft flip book maker. Maybe I will change to eflip.

I have successfully activated the eflip. The demo looks so perfect. However, it only allows to import txt, rtf and etc. Why there is no support of PDF? I have many files need to convert. That's so bad.

I searched a while in Google and notice that most of the flip page tools support PDF. Maybe I can download this one as an alternative: http://www.sharewareconnection.com/flipbook-maker-for-mac.htm

@ #1 Petr and #2 kathy:
Just been to their website to check what the program does. It converts text documents like pdf, MS Office and OpenOffice to a flash flipbook. To convert images, I guess one would first have to create a Office doc and put the images in there before converting it to a flipbook.

Anyone who can read cleatrly has an advantage.

So,can it be used as a graphic image album, ie one image per page and again, as above, can pngs and/or jpgs be used and also, as I am amateur with flipbook formats, can the images be various sizes and orientations (portrait/landscape)? I know these may seem stupid questions as this may not be the type of software I'm looking for, but I've tried several flipbook programs lately and they tend to cut off parts of off-size images...hard to explain, sorry.
