Go here for a truly fine and totally FREE program, or just use Mozilla's "SunBird" which is a complete Calendar/Date/Scheduling program and also completely Free.... you can easily Google it..

Sorry but this is crap as you can´t even have different pictures for each month + the pictures doesn´t scale proper when you adjust them.

But i found TkExe instead which is even to be found in several languages at http://www.tkexe.de/downloads/index.htm for free and works way better than this dl.

#23 & #42 take a proper look before complaining - you CAN change the days and months to whatever language you want! I've done mine in Japanese and it looks fine. Of course, you have to choose a font on your PC for your language choice.

It works fine except after I'd finished making my January page, and went on to February, I see it's the same background picture, and I can't find any way of making each month a different picture. Who wants twelve pages of the same picture? I may be doing what I've berated #23 and #42 for, but I think I've searched the whole program.

Install worked after error(s)on WinXP.
the checkbox "Autoscale Image" is auto scaling when not checked and the other way round when checked! Is this a bug?
"1-Year View Style" is not working easily with a picture (i.e. not Auto scaling).
Could have been a nice little soft... if it was much cheaper.

This is a strictly "Amateur" program.. or unfinished. It resizes your custom images to some predefined and hidden scale, then if you uncheck automatic scaling it stretches and distorts your image to fit the page. And.. if you check to retain the aspect ratio (or it should say aspect ratio.. NOT Proportion, which would imply that the image, calendar, text, etc. remain proportional in size to one another during resizing) during resizing, the stretched and distorted shape is what is retained as you pull and push the sides of your image. Clearly, the feature to use your own images as the background (the best feature of the program) hasn't been properly developed. I can go on to say.. You can change the font and font color, but not the size. And you can't change the color of the gridlines, at all!. On the good side, these problems could be corrected.. and this would be a quite useful program. Just finish what you started.
There. I trust mine is the last comment of the day.. on this program :o)

I stopped reading when I got to this:

Installed and tried the DEMO version (before the bashing starts: I live in a different time zone, so the GAotD was available already here in the Netherlands before you guys could get your mitts on it).

Just what is going on in the head of someone who thinks this is how the internet works? Unbelievable!

I've tried several software selections from GOTD and I think I'm ready to drop a review.

Software downloaded, installed and activated just fine on Vista.

Software seems pretty simple. My wife and I would like to make calenders for family as gifts and this should do part of the work. Printing just the calenders landscape ways and then printing full page photos on the back of each month and binding them together should make for some nice calenders to give family of our kids. I don't think we will use the picture properties of this, it just doesn't seem up to par, it sure could have more features to it, and I don't think it is worth near the $30 tag, sorry guys, but it is good for generating and printing just simple calenders without having to manually make them out in excel or something.
I would gladly pay $30 for a full featured, quality calender making program, but this just isn't something to justify that.

Downloaded and installed. Install went smoothe. Registration key could be a cut and paste or a bit shorter to type. Is is only a calendar maker. Played with it a bit. Seems to work well. Wish I Could use a mouse to change sizes and placement. This software is loaded on my Windows Vista 64bit home premium and have not encountered any errors!!

I cannot recommend this program. It does make a nice calender, as long as all you want is one image! It will not do different images for different months!

Downloaded and installed fine on Vista.

I have been looking for a way to make my own customized calendar, however this is not what I had in mind... This program is very basic and elementary, I feel like if I want to make a nice calendar I should just use photoshop, or even microsoft word.

The biggest con was the image. If you want to insert an image, you need to select 'Background Image', choose the image, and then use little arrows to resize and place it. So if the image is very small, you have to click the height and width arrows multiple times to make it the right size. The image is usually very distorted too, so it takes a long time for it to look like how you want it.

Some screenshots:
1 month

1 year

3 months

The 3 month calendar is very flawed.. as far as I can see there is no way to edit the large month without editing the three months at the bottom. Thus, making the numbers and font smaller means making the text for the three small months illegible.

Overall I give this program a 3/10. If it was just a little more versatile and had some more features, it would be a nice program. I do not recommend you install this.

On second thought, I think the developer forgot to update their website...some parts say "Windows 95/98/2000/XP/VISTA" and others leave out the "vista" part!

Surely they cannot BOTH be the truth!

For those upset about it not working on Vista, take a look at the software website...it lists Vista as one of the OS's it works with.

Don't know why GAOTD and developer website have different OS requirements listed.

Nice program except for one problem; it doesn't scale the your personal images correctly! The proportion is all stretched, and looks very crappy. Changing the "keep proportion when resizing images" option makes absolutely no difference! What good is it if you can't use your own images properly?

Program installs easily and runs well on XP SP2 - and Vista machines (as Administrator).

Pros: Quite a flexible program if you take the time to explore all the options--
Eg: You can print both an image (not only as a background) and the calendar on the same page:
1. Uncheck "Autoscale Image" box.
2 With Background Image box checked, Change Image to open your own image file.
3. Shrink Calendar Height with Left Arrow.
4.. Move Calendar up and down page with Top Left and Right Arrows under "Calendar Height."
5, Adjust Image up and down page (and Width, Height, Left, Right) with arrows under "Sample Calendar."
6. Save Calendar (and/or Print Calendar to Image File.)

Con: No Help file.

Re: seijuska #114. Under File, click on Toggle Start Date between Sunday and Monday.

Installed and registered fine on XP-SP3, but I had a problem with the program crashing until I read #21's tip: "Tip: if using a background image & you want it to stretch totally behind, then you must un-check ‘autoscale Image’." Once I unchecked the autoscale image the program worked fine.

I appreciate this download. Thanks GAOTD!

To those complaining about not being able to use the same photo for every month:

How many calendars have you ever seen that had the same picture for every month? What would be the point in that? Would anyone buy a calendar if every month had the same picture?

Of course not. I mean, if you really want to use the same picture for each month, that's your business and you are certainly entitled to do so.

I haven't played around with it yet myself, but I assume the way this program works is this. It probably does each month, 3-month, or year calendar as a seperate job. Therefore, of course you would have to adjust settings each time, even if you did use the same picture for more than just one job. Does that not make sense to you?

Hmm...I just got an idea to see if I could get this program to make a wallet size calendar, maybe even a small dayplanner. Lots of ideas.

Oh and thank you to GotD and EasyCalendarMaker for a nice little program.

I installed it on Windows XP with no problems. I have been looking for a calendar program for awhile and am pleased with the options. There are a few sample calendars and a few different views available. The fonts, headings, pictures, start dates and layout can be changed. There are options to change the language as well. It should be fun to create some calendars as holiday gifts and such! For free!! Thank you. :-)

The GAOTD appears at the same time point all over the world. Nobody gets it before anyone else. I see the new software giveaway appear at 9 a.m. in Germany which means, for example, 3 a.m. on the east coast of the U.S. and 9 p.m. in N.Z.

This version don't let you make proper calendars. The pro version would do the trick, but it costs €€€.

Another cons: the software is targeted to the US market, the Euro system support (week beginning from Monday) is available only in the pro version. Very limited software indeed; smells too much American. Thumbs down.

Excellent programi Installed easily on Windows XP. I had no problem copy/pasting the name and code for registration. The price is a bit steep for this program in its present state ($15 for a download is more like it.) Briar (#61) has some excellent suggestions for improving the program, but I DO NOT AGREE with him as to the quality of the software. As for autoloading the file from explorer, Briar did not browse to look for the software and link it to the ea type file. That did the trick (Almost . . . the program loads, but you must select the calendar again. That should be fixed by the author. Finally, thanks to those who do take the time to comment. You guys are great!

#6 You CAN cut and paste the registration key. Ctl-C copies the name /or/ key and Crl-V pastes it. You have to highlight it first of course. You should know Basic computer skills before you knock a free download.

#43 - I can print to any of my printers or to a PDF file, no problem. I'm printing to a PDF file, as this really isn't worth wasting the ink.

Program Runs fine, but has no options that I can locate. Obviously a new programmer that thinks everyone appreciates POPS and Whizzes every time you move the mouse, VERY annoying.

The Start up 'Tips' are so obvious and few that they shouldn't have bothered. "You can use your own photo's" Wow - That's nice, like I'd use the program if you couldn't.

Doesn't let you do multiple months with different photo's so you can't really do anything like put together a year's calendar to give to someone, unless you do it one page at a time. Would be nice if you could do calendars that folded together, with something on both sides.

This is only going to look like you kludged something up using excel or word.

I WAS excited when I read the description of the program, but really not worth the price, even at FREE.

After installing Easy Calendar Maker on my xp machine, I decided to google freeware calendar makers to see what I could find. WHAT I CAME UP WITH MAKES ME REALLY QUESTION THE ETHICS Of EASY CALENDAR MAKER.

What legitimate reason is there for a software developer to USE MANY DIFFERENT ALIASES FOR THEIR SOFTWARE AND COMPANY NAME and in almost all the links given for their software under all the aliases, the true destination site for the link is hidden?

http://www.softplatz.com/freeware/calendar-maker/

Check out this questionable situation. Web links for the developers of all the calendar software listed in softplatz freeware list, ALL ARE LINKS TO EASY CALENDAR MAKER SITE!
Below are just two of a pageful of these.

web links from Softplatz for a company named 1-Calendar Builder go to Easy Calendar Maker site

Calendar Consultants links at Softplatz go to Easy Calendar Maker site

Here's Another masquerade that comes up when you Google free calendar creator (I used creator instead of maker search term, to try to bring up something instead of Easy Calendar Maker's multitude of aliases!)

You will find THIS particular app offered for download on a number of sites. On sites I checked besides the example below, so far every time, the information was presented just as it's presented here, with the true name of the developer and site hidden until after you click the link that finally brings up Easy Calendar Maker's site.

This is very basic software that is missing a lot of options such as adding extra text.

Can't even export as images (bmp or jpg).

The controls are useable but I do have to admit that it is a bit win3.1

Images could also use a border option.

Another huge hole in this program is that it only makes calendars in the standard page size 8 by 11 and it can not flip to 11 by 8.
