I would have loved this program, if not for the non standard .NET 4 requirement. Sadly I will have to decline. But, thanks for the offer.

The program installed without any problems.
But - if you want to sell the package outside The United States, I would suggest that you improve the program by implementing the metric system.
It's not enough just to be able to choose A4 or key in the size of the document in millimeters, you also need millimeters on the rulers and templates.
In general the package works, but its far from perfect regarding the user interface options.
Therefore I believe $40 is far too much to pay until major improvements have been added.

#23: "... That yields nothing extra so it remains a mystery as to why the installation package is so huge – not to mention why it couldn’t be zipped."

If it helps, Steve, the GOTD Setup.exe unpacks a RAR compressed pair of files [RAR is like Zip compression], a setup.exe & a msi [Windows Installer] file. When installed, contents are put in the app's program folder [~68 MB], with templates stored in a separate folder under All Users App/Application Data [~160 MB].

* * *

#29: "Easy Flyer Creator 3.0 can not corrupt your Windows or damage your computer, it has been tested on several computers and operating systems already."

FWIW I completely agree -- but I can't say the same for .NET 4 & any required updates. Google/Bing & you find an uncomfortably high number of complaints &/or problem reports from .NET 4 &/or its updates not installing etc.

* * *

#30: "... problems experienced by people are only one caused by people not keeping their Microsift software up to date. (Not have Net framework 4 installed or updated to be precise.) Since I download and install Microsoft software updates on a regular basis, I didn’t have any problems with installation at all."

Monitored install in win7 ult 32 SP1, with *All* updates installed, including .NET 4 client, still required added .NET 4 package. This isn't the only app out there that's not satisfied with the .NET 4 offered on MS Update, & it's very possible the added packs have already been installed. However the only way you can tell is running the installation -- since Easy Flyer Creator checks for the .NET 4 it wants/need on starting, personally I'd rather the dev just listed it in requirements, & left it up to the user, but that's me.

Easy Flyer Creator is a nice app with big impact on Windows if you don't already have the required .NET 4 installation, & that's above/beyond the .NET 4 client update offered through Microsoft Update. If you already meet the requirements, &/or that sort of thing doesn't bother you, Easy Flyer Creator is a great way to quickly & easily knock out certificates, ads, & of course flyers. If OTOH you're managing just fine without .NET 4 on-board, &/or you like to handle the complete design process rather than rely on complete, fill-in-the-blank templates, you'll probably be better off using your regular Office-type app/suite &/or DTP oriented software like the publishing apps from Microsoft or Serif.

Running/Using Easy Flyer Creator is simple... You start out selecting a template, click the Next button & start customizing, which can range from simply filling in stuff like names &/or dates, to removing or replacing artwork & any other elements. You can import graphics or data, including from database records exported in 1 of several formats. And you can save your work as a template or print. Again it's not for DTP pros, who'll miss fine tuning text settings like kerning, leading, line spacing etc., nor can you fine tune vector graphics elements or do things like control the flow of text. But it does include the free Paint.net for photo/image work, and may be the quickest solution when like I said you want to just quickly knock something out with minimal time, thought, or effort.

As far as installation goes, Easy Flyer Creator itself creates two folders, the program folder with 584 files, 29 folders, ~68 MB, & a folder for templates under All Users App/Application Data, with 169 files, 18 folders, ~160 MB. An empty folder was created under UserName, & 52 fonts are included/installed, many duplicating what you likely already have, sometimes with older versions. As best I can tell there was one registry key needed/added. .NET 4 is another story... in win7 32 with the .NET 4 client & all updates installed, I recorded 2008 files added, 95763 registry entries added, 564 registry entries updated -- in XP Pro without any .NET 4, including 3 .NET 4 updates needed, 2600 files added, 13108 registry entries added, 3338 registry entries updated, with disk space used growing by roughly 800 MB. Registration appears keyed to the hard drive, & during the process Mamutu complained about Easy Flyer Creator behaving like a backdoor & later for accessing the hard drive.

Installed without any major problems on my Windows 7 Pro 64-bit system. For me, it's one of those programs I might use once in a while, although some people might find it useful, especially for doing kids projects for home or school.

My only gripe is with the installer. I already had .NET Framework 4 installed on my system with the latest updates (for another program I use). Easy Flyer Creator apparently didn't check to see whether .NET Framework 4 is already installed, but instead, without asking, installed an older version of it, which I had to update afterward. Poor programming practice.

This program is FULL of bugs. Even with numbers out of range, when just starting a template...

Giveaway of the Day is NOT a playground for Alpha-testing!! It's not even Beta stage, that bad. Really, really bad.

This is a waste. You can do much better with just a bit of imagination and something like Microsoft Works. The templates are basic if that. A bit win95 feel to the designs. There are free desktop publishing programs that will do much much better with more options.

I just read comment "nr. 18 Nigel". I also downloaded and installed the previous version offered here. So, what is the correct way? Uninstall the older version before install the new one? Or is it ok to install the today version over the older one? And in case if I have to uninstall the older version I think it´s horrible to use other programs like revo. Imagine, what a waste of time. I just want a clean install without the need to download more and more programs. This is for all this kind of GAOTD offers here. The programmers should give us programs which are easy to uninstall and don´t mess with our systems. Many of us aren´t specialists and I think the most of us uses their pc´s even for work and it would be a shame to ruin our pc´s just for "experimenting". In the past I by myself had to formate my pc and lost a lot of private information. Thanks for reading.
