Usually I install my new software before the time expires, and try it later when required. This time I actually had a quick wizz through the programme. I had installed it to d: drive but found all the templates on c: and everyone said they used a lot of space, so I copied them to E: and then I tried them and they worked. Registration was easy, despite putting the wrong email address in first time, just reregistered. Then I clicked on an award template, edited it in my favour and proceeded to create the certificate. easy peasy. The final product was a jpg file. I also noticed you could just go back with the buttons to change an item, people were commenting there was no undo. It was adequate for me.
Thanks all concerned for some very easy to use software.

this is a bit bizarre- at the company home site's download page-

[ http://peridotec.com/download.htm ...]
Easy Flyer Creator is listed as Free Desktop Publishing Software and indicates a file size of just 75.4 MB, but click through and you end up at http://www.flyerscreator.com/ and the $39.99 price.

the download link supplies a 98 MB file, though.

pretty interesting software. I'm calling it a keeper, though it isn't something I'll be using often.

I too run into the screen resolution problem with this software. It is certain that I am not going to change hardware settings to accomodate one software. This is a world of multitasking. What if I want to jump over to my photo editor to adjust a photo I want to put in a project?

Thus I find this software unworkable.

In addition, I was making some changes to a template. The adjustments appeared correct in the preview pane but when I went to save the project, only THEN did it cough up one exception error or setting error after another. In the end I had to use Task Manager to close the window. Why does the software even accept out-of-range parameters without an immediate warning? Very poor.

Thus you can tell that I am not at all happy with Easy Flyer Creator and am uninstalling it.

Chad @ #39 makes a very good point about Adobe Creative Suite 2. Not sure if Windows 7 or 8 are supported, but should work in "compatibility mode". The result would be far superior and the software a very valuable learning experience.

Thumbs up for the comment Chad; Thumbs WAAAAY DOWN for Easy Flyer Creator, regretfully.

I used my Admin-privileged account to install the program on my XP Home system. Despite choosing to install for "all users", Easy Flyer Creator v3.0 was not registered for all the non-admin user accounts. I had to launch "EFC" in each non-admin user account and re-enter the GOTD activation code & user registration info, a pain.

I notice there is no "Uninstall Easy Flyer Creator" shortcut provided in the application's launch folder (Start Menu > Programs > Easy Flyer Creator).

Also, I allowed it to perform the install of .NET 4.0, something I'm starting to regret. I'm not sure if I already had it at the time. A pre-check would have been nice (Something like "... .NET v4.0 is not installed -- would you like to install it (necessary for this application to function)? Y/N")

EFC work OK in the admin account used to install it.

However, I got the following error box to pop up when launching EFC in each of those non-admin accounts, both before and after restarting the machine, and even after running Microsoft update multiple times to ensure the latest system and .NET updates were applied (that alone took close to 1.5 hours to implement) followed by system restarts:

--------------

Microsoft .NET Framework

Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation.

(The results of clicking on "Details" in this first box are copied below, After clicking on "Continue", an empty window pops up titled "Form1". Closing that box allows Easy Flyer Creator v3.0 to continue to launch.)

--------------

(results of clicking on "Details" in the first box:)

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

the digital signature and modification date are both August 29, 2011- so it's a month newer, but how much has changed I'm not sure.

I'd guess not a huge update, but that's only a guess.

"#5 #24 – the need you have problems with, the program asking to make mods to your hard drive, that is your security settings doing that.
You could just lower your settings lower and let everything access your hard drive unquestioned."

The only other programs that ask for permission are programs that ACTUALLY MAKE CHANGES TO THE HARD DRIVE, like defrag tools, registry cleaners, etc., OR when you're actually installing a program. There's just no need for a program like this to need those permissions. If I was getting this prompt on every program I ran, yes, I might need to change the security settings. But that's not the case here.
