The bootable CD I referred to (comment #22) was indeed burned from EASEUS Partition Master 5.5.1 Pro’s image.iso!
To me, the problem appears to be that this latest image.iso, unlike the 5.0.1 image.iso, does not contain the driver(s) to get my Dell Latitude E5500 to run.
I have ruled out a faulty burn for the following reasons:
1. The CD works fine on my Asus P4S533 machine;
2. I burned a second CD, again with no result on my Dell.

EASEUS Partition Master 5.5.1 Professional Edition can support hardware RAID under Windows operating system without problem. The only limit is that the program cannot support hardware RAID when you are using the bootable CD.
