When I saw this on GOTD the other day, I had to take the opportunity to download it and try it on a brand new 500 GB Maxtor drive that got corrupted shortly after I moved a boatload of files to it over month ago. In that month, I had tried a lot of very highly-rated other commercial software to see if I could recover some of that data.

Data Recovery Wizard Pro (older version or not) was the only one to get back my files, and it did so 600 times faster than the other software took just to explore the disk. Definitely worth the money if you need this sort of thing.

Nice work GOTD (and EASEUS)!

I am one happy camper with this. i was not sure if it would help me get files off of a laptop hard drive that crashed on us and we need important files from it. once i installed it snatched all the files we needed. so even if it is an older version it did what i needed it to do.

Missed 4.3.6 in April, was in the hospital. Later tried their test version when I lost a complete logical drive. Yes I had backups, but incrementals can be a pain. The demo found 2354 files with useable names and even was able to retrieve directory names which most others I tried could only give to me as dir0001, dir0002, etc. (no idea why, directories are just files), so I purchased it as the price was well worth the time savings if it worked and I could get my money back if it didn't. It did, almost flawlessly, I lost a couple directory names, not bad with over 2300 files. Well worth the money, I would have paid for it even if I had gotten it free earlier because of the value.

I'm downloading the older version today because of its capability with older os's

Great utility, well written, easy to use.

I've noticed the same thing, but remember that there are many people reading this site at various times, so while a comment may have a +3 when your browser loads it, it may have had several ratings before you got to it.

What you see in the ratings of comments is what was accurate when the page loads. What you see after rating a comment is the current thumbs up/down, including those between the page load and you rating it.

#46 - As you pointed out there are many visitors on this site. When you loaded the page the counter may have been +1 for that comment because one person had come and liked it. But while you were reading comments, others were too. 4 of them didn't like that comment and thus it dropped to a -3 for you when you click. I believe the system works fine.
The program does too. If you don't need another recovery tool and you have one you like then use it. If not, then this isn't an old version to you. If you need one and don't have one then this is the latest version for you. Use it and enjoy until a newer or differnt one you like better comes along.
