Sorry, but I do not feel safe having a program keep my passwords in a way that would make it easy to find should a hacker wish to. If you get used to using just the "master password" and your hard drive fails and you cant remember your other passwords (since you havent typed them in ages), lets just say it would not be a fun situation ;)

This program in my opinion is not safe if you have any passwords except for online F2P games, and I cant see it being useful. I also cant imagine paying for this. Thanks anyway for the offer giveawayoftheday.com !

After I contacted to the author of this program, I got two key things.

1. The machine should be restarted after installed Cute Password Manager.

2. If you need CPM to run in windows vista, you should turn IE protected-mode off.

3. See tutorials on their website.

OK. Cute Password Manager works well on my machine now. The Program is not bad.

Thanks.

@kyle thomas: A wise person doesnt use the same password everywhere, and he does use passwords like: iP4e=rhZTait8WK3zf# in every site he logs in. They are impossible to extract from a password list (at least no one would try to decipher a stolen password list from a site with such complex password, it would take years.) People who´s passwords are stolen uses ordinary words and numbers, they just takes seconds for a simple password cracking software to guess.

If you have 30+ sites to log in with complex passwords - then a password manager comes n very handy and you are safe from identity theft.

Yeah, yeah... all the Firefox snobs are blasting IE. I use both but I generally use IE because FF takes so much RAM that I can't run the applications I need for my business. I do miss the password and form filling functions of FF but I can't keep closing my browser so I can use Quickbooks, Excel, Thunderbird and Word at the same time. When I get a new machine with more RAM I'll go back to FF.

That being said - I am giving this one a pass. Not enough information about how secure this is from outside sources. I have client passwords to protect so I will rely on my memory, which hasn't failed me yet and can't be hacked (in theory).

I was using the trial version and I am glad I downloaded the pro version. I saw the option for the USB key so I think you can use this software on the USB key. I like it so far.

"It only imports IE passwords. Everything with Firefox or other browsers has to be entered manually."

That's REALLY lame.

If you only use IE, then this is a good option for free...as long as you understand that you will have to buy it to retrieve your (hopefully backed-up) passwords if your hard drive fails, or when you get a new computer and want to continue using it.

In all likelihood, you would eventually end up needing to purchase this. Therefore, I'd go with the top-rated and highly-respected RoboForm which works with both FF and IE. It is the one Internet app that I absolutely could not live without. RoboForm2Go also allows me to take my secured passwords with me on a USB drive.

That said, this app does seem to do most of what RoboForm does, with the huge exception of not having FF compatibility (and no optional USB drive portability, albeit at an additional cost.) RoboForm itself costs only $5.00 more.

With either program, do not forget to keep your passwords backed up!

I'm not big on password applications other than Roboform (free) but this one really seems to meet all of my needs and more. I'm in business for myself and support a lot of computers remotely. Since each computer requires a unique log in this app will save me a tremendous amount of time. The setup instructions were excellent and importing Roboform was effortless.
If you have a lot of passwords that you have to deal with you're going to have a hard time finding an app that will beat this one.
