Thx GOTD
The Clone2go is easy to install and run.
i imported some video clips and choose the profile for ipod, clone2go works fast and the output videos is OK. this software is very easy to use i can preview the video in the preview-box and set the start trim and stop trim.
but clone2go did not let me import HD videos, i have alots of BDAV M2TS, MTS and AVCHD videos when i click the "add video" button it did not allow me choose the M2TS files ( decrypted from blu-ray ).
it support MKV movies, but i can't choose the audio language. my MKV file has 2 audio track one is French another is English (mediainfo to get this info). i need to switch the multi track audio to English but the output video's audio language is French :(

Compare to "winx hd video converter deluxe" (giveaway on GOTD some days ago). the WHVCD support HD Videos also SD videos, i can import M2TS and MKV multi track video and choose English audio track.
another lacuna to clone2go is it did not support my Nokia N900, did not find the profile for Mokia N900.

also Clone2GO is a good video tool for SD videos, except the HD videos M2TS, HD-DVD video EVO MKV. Winx HD Video Converter Deluxe is still my best choice for my blu-ray M2TS AVCHD and MKV.
thank GOTD and clone2go.

As video converters go, this one is pretty good. The mplayer/mencoder engine produces xvid files that play on my set-top media player - most converters do not.

The program does attempt to phone-home to clone2go.com during startup. It may just be checking for updates, but there is no way to disable this.

I've downloaded so many of the video converters offered on GOTD, this one is easily in the top few.

The software leeches not one but two GNU licensed software "Mplayer" and "FFmpeg".

With that in mind, the conversion of a VOB clip to Divx is no better or worse than any other FFmpeg conversion. Other features were not tested.

My verdict is it's ok, but not if I have to pay for it especially since it's built around GNU software.

Better software to use is Format Factory, DVDFab, and any WinX convertors when they are offered here by GOTD.

@Ashraf - This software does have a default resolution option. At the "Video Size" click on the resolusion box and select "Original".

@6 Johnq Parks - Format Factory does not have spyware. It does have a passive adware. You need to download it from the "Official" site and not some posting.

This software disappoints me in that it charges the end user money but itself uses not one but two GNU licensed software, "Mplayer" and "FFmpeg".

Conversion settings
Test clip used - 7 min. clip ripped from the movie "The Promise". The bull run in the canyon and battle sequence used.
Divx: mpeg4
Video bitrate: 2000
Frames: 29.97
Audio: left at default

Conversion results
Took about the same time as any other FFmpeg software. The video quality was about the same as any other FFmpeg software. Audio was about the same as any other FFmpeg software. Nothing special stands out. Basically this software has all the pluses and minuses of FFmpeg.

I have not tried the other formats because I am familiar with the Divx/Xvid formats and I know what the results should be at the different bitrates. The other features have not been tested.

Other software to use instead is Format Factory, DVDFab or any of Winx Convertors when they are offered on GOTD.

@Ashraf - There is a default resolution option. At "Video Size" select "Original"

@6 Johnq Parks - Format Factory does not contain spyware. It does have passive adware. You need to download it from the "Official" download sites.

@6 / Johnq Parks:

Of course Format Factory isn't "full of spyware." If it was, it wouldn't have an estimated 15 million users worldwide. What it does have are install options to check or uncheck.

Comments like yours are misleading to the GOTD community -- especially as the very software you are recommending is also, by your own definition, "full of spyware".

DVDVideoSoft's Free Studio seeks to change your default home page. And install a new toolbar in your browser. So how come you neglect to mention that in your post when slagging off Format Factory???

Truth is, all freeware producers are dependent upon user goodwill (for donations) and -- because of a dearth of such donations -- some revenue from commercial sources.

Nothing wrong with that.

Increasingly therefore, freeware offers (and some commercial ware, too!) to install various "enhancements" during the app's installation process. If a user is stupid enough to blithely agree, that's the user's fault: it's not difficult, is it, to either uncehck or check an option box when it comes to placing new software on one's computer???

As to today's GOTD: Ashraf's report is worrying re audio capabilities, though whether or not that's something specific to his machine, I don't know. Tim C's post @ #7 is very helpful because if you don't want a stand-alone DV video-in then today's GOTD is ideal.

I don't, however, need that facility so will pass on today's offering: the problem is that it's up against a variety of freeware like iWisoft, Format Factory, SUPER, and Media Coder, all of which can be accommodated on one computer and all of which accomplish for nothing that which today's developer would otherwise like to charge for.

Because of that level of competition, therefore, I wonder about this product's ultimate longevity.

But many thanks to the developer, and to GOTD, anyway.

As much as I sincerely appreciate the Give Away of The Day site, let's be real... how many video converters / registry optomiser / hard disk utility programs do you honestly need ? Yet, that seems to be what the Lion's share of programs on this site are for the most part. What about some "fresh meat" ?
Loaded on Win7 64 OK yet customizing feature is a no go. I like the accept/reject feature when loading video files yet the inability to set encoding parameters is a no-go. Developer needs to correct and give it a go again because this app has potential if bugs are fixed.
