Who is waiting in the lovely creek side cabin on this snowy evening? They are staying nice as warm as you can tell from the animated smoke coming from the chimney. The creek gently flows while the snow continues to fall. All the Christmas lights blink in welcome.

"All the Christmas lights blink in welcome." Not on my PC. I deleted my .exe from long ago and installed this one (obviously identical) in hopes they had tweaked it to blink the lights, to no avail. The lamp on the right side of the stream varies in intensity, but that's all. I still like it though; the stream movement, smoke and snow are nice.

I would have liked to try this giveaway, but when I tried to install it, nothing happened.

The window checking giveawayoftheday.com came up, then the GOTD web page, but nothing installed. I tried downloading it again, but had the same result. (I am running Win7 Ultimate)
Thanks anyway, GOTD and AnimatedWallpaper7 for the giveaway.

Nope, doesn't work well for me at all. Very jerky & can hardly move my mouse to do anything. I have Windows 7, Pentium Dual Core, running at 2.8GHz. My graphics card is Intel G45/G43. The settings had no options to change the quality of it.

Downloaded and started the install and all looked like it installed okay, however no screensaver is visible. It appears not to have installed at all. Perhaps it does not work on a Windows 8 machine?

I have loved screensavers since I saw my first flying toaster, I hope they never go away. The problem I've had with some of these downloaded ones is they don't show up on both of my duel-screens. This appears to be an animated wall paper instead and it shows up on both monitors. It's very nice, thank you.

Pretty but really puts a burden on a quad core at 2.8Ghz with a decent video card and 8GB of RAM. Thank you anyway and Merry Christmas to all!

Nice and beautiful, unfortunately not working very well - the program crashes every time I re-login (e.g. wake computer from sleep or switch user).

Thanks a lot for generous offer. However this isn't exactly the kind of software, I use much. Btw, if my fellow users in here are insecure about a site, then use the Web Of Trust add on - OR just as good Security Plus. Well it isn't exact science, but it should be able to give you guys a hint. Just my little x-mas greet for you - all the way from Denmark. Merry Christmas.

First I'm confused as to why some comments refer this to a Screensaver,it's not a Screensaver-it's animated Wallpaper. It downloaded and installed easily on Windows 7,32bit. Yes it's set to start on Startup as it's Wallpaper, you can easily change settings. As for the Wallpaper effects-you have animation in the falling snow, you see movement in the smoke from the chimney, the street light flickers, and there's slight ripples from the shimmering water. Most of these effects are subtle,so some people may overlook them and granted there is no sound. The effects could have been done better and sound from the water or even wind would have added that little bit extra to the effects of the Wallpaper. It also does use up quite a bit of resources,it's one of the top 3 software installed on my computer to use most memory etc,,.So once Jan 2015 arrives it will be deleted, until then I'll keep it.Final-whether this is a coincidence or not,my typing has slowed down and I'm sometimes having to let it catch up before I type some more;I noticed this while leaving this feedback. For what it is,I give it 3 out 5.

That free wallpaper site at top of page. Suspicious of demand to install something. Why ?

Snow flake's falling on a cabin may be a little dry for some but the 3-D Fish Tank is pretty cool! You only get 10 fish but who doesn't like a fish tank on your screen? The other offer is at the top of the page.
'Nuff said!

Hi. Let's just appreciate Festive Cheer Offering from GOTD! I agree this 'screensaver' doesn't do much, but give me snow falling on my Desktop at this time of a Year and I'm happy:), aah.

Installation goes to Program Files, but unlike anything else 'associated' with Animated Wallpapers from the same Company - doesn't create shortcut on Desktop (one has to find it and create it manually) and little 'blue telly screen' doesn't stay on Taskbar for Quick Launch after exiting (no such option when installing, but in this instance would be handy!) Yes, I too ticked off this Program starting with Windows, no need. I'm going to see later if I can 'throw' this Scene into Animated Wallpaper/Screensaver Maker to tweak different snow effects, hmm. We can all be choosy and sophisticated, lol, but sometimes should try to put it all aside and dream away a little, where is harm?:) Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow......

Christmas being a time for the grandkids, I quite like to have a seasonal wallpaper running on our desktop PCs. Obviously, the need for screensavers went with the passing of the CRT but it's still fun to have an animated desktop as and when. Specialist developer and GOTD regular Astro Gemini has more or less singlehandedly kept the old screensaver alive; today's developer, animatedwallpaper7 isn't one I've ever heard of and seems in any event to be a single individual rather than a company.

It's perhaps for that reason that, to judge from this and the offerings on its website, the software really is pretty basic stuff. This is especially true of this promotional offer, an almost static picture of a twee cottage in a sub-Disneyesque landscape. Absence of sound is a real no-no -- a silent creek ain't no creek at all; absence of dynamism, almost as bad, seeing as how Astro Gemini (with whom I have no connection) now regularly features animated wallpaper with 3D renderings, stereo sound, and pseudo sky-track camera views. Thanks, GOTD, and thanks, animatedwallpaper7, but no thanks: though the image is timeless, this barely animated wallpaper is waaay out of date. Uninstalled.

Animatedwallpaper7 seems to have been incorporated to market animated wallpapers made with Desktop Paints’ Animated Wallpaper Maker (offered here several times) with which you can make your own animations, which is much more fun – and much cheaper – than buying them readymade. Because, as you noticed, their own production is not very creative and, IMHO, doesn’t advertise well for the software it was made with, which allows sounds, music, camera movements etc. In any case, it definitely wouldn’t be worth buying one of their readymade wallpapers or screensavers for 8 $ when you can make as many as you want, and very easily do better, with DP excellent and powerful programs.

Desktop Paints is a Russian Company based in St Petersburg, for those who are interested:

Hi, on their Page (AnimatedWallpaper7.com) there is also 'DesktopPaints Animated Wallpaper Maker' and here are more of DP products: http://www.desktoppaints.com/about.php?product=wp_maker We are perhaps more familiar with DP Software, as it was offered here many times in a past. Certain Animated Wallpapers seem to be shared between 'the two', so they must be somehow connected, hmm. If that's not enough:) - Astro Gemini and AnimatedWallpaper7.com have loads of the same 'screensavers' from best of them all (in my view) with tones of free items - 7Art, http://7art-screensavers.com/ Here warning: McAfee goes immediately to red..I'm sure with enough knowledge about real and false-negative we can visit at least? These Sites were much safer and friendlier in the past, that's all I can say.

Sorry but when I clicked on the link: "http://7art-screensavers.com/" I got a pop up warning me that McAfee has tested this site and found it contained phishing links. Strange thing is I don't even have McAfee installed on my computer. I'm thinking it is one of their pop-up ads but who knows for sure since I tried it twice and got the pop-up both times! Just be careful out, not everything is truely free just because they say it is!

This one doesn’t come as a surprise at this time of the year. Those who like that sort of things but didn’t have the patience – or the free space on their PC - to keep it all year round since last year when it was first offered… too late for Christmas Eve 2013, will appreciate.

In settings (right click the icon in the systray), set “Execution priority” to “High” if you want to enjoy your wallpaper with optimal fluidity; set it to “Low” to spare your processor if you want to work on your pc with the wallpaper playing. Don’t worry if your icons stop working properly, everything will return to normal when you close the wallpaper.

Uncheck “Autorun on windows startup” if you want to keep it installed for the forthcoming winter holidays without using it in the meantime. But it is not always enough. You might have to use “msconfig” and uncheck “Animated Wallpaper” in the 2nd tab from the right. To launch it next Christmas, just click its icon in the list of programs. (Sorry for these rather vague explanations, but I cannot be more precise, as my Windows is not in English.)
Merry Christmas to you all.

I couldn't call software to this. Not interesting for me. Thanks, GAOTD for the great software you sometimes offer. Not always can be excellent.

Never mind that screensavers aren't really needed to use with newer OS, let's just look at their functionality and beauty. I can only compare this screensaver with Astro Gemini, of which I have several (just because I enjoy looking at them from time to time.)

This screensaver is attractive, but somewhat boring because it lacks sound and movement options. Astro Gemini allows sound (or not), gives you control over snowfall and wind speed, and has the option for a clock (or not.)

The animation in the Astro Gemini screensavers I have are a bit choppy, where the only thing moving in this screensaver are the snowflakes.

Caution: This screensaver has an option to Play at startup enabled by default, so if you don't want the screensaver taking over your screen I'd suggest turning that off (settings.) Going to uninstall this one.

Thanks anyway.
