No prob w/dwnld or install. Seems fine. Replaced a 122mb hog I barely used with this sleek, 6mb application . . . hopefully it'll work as easy as others have described, should I find labeling a CD necessary.
Thanks GAOTD!

I downloaded the files, it went fine. Copy and pasted the user name and reg codes into the spaces and they took. I've opened the program at least 20 times so I don't think that will be a problem. A friend of mine bought a similar product for $20 and it wasn't this easy to use. I labeled 200 CD's last night, and I need to go buy more CD label paper today. The program was very easy to use; I uploaded full color pictures, cropped, added text, and it worked great. Thanks for the free software!

This is a basic label designer, and I didn't spend much time with it, but it seems quite buggy. Additionally, the price is a significant problem (except during the giveaway). Much more complete packages which directly support LightScribe, more standard labels, label printers, etc., and have large collections of images, templates, clip-art, user-submitted templates, etc., are available for the same price or less, such as SureThing.

#58, penny, it's true that the label side is actually more delicate since the reflective layer is closest to the surface on that side. There are numerous issues with stick-on labels, however. The adhesives can damage the reflective layer. They add mass and potential imbalance to the CD/DVD, they increase the thickness, and may be hazardous (catching/peeling) to a slot-loading drive. Printable CD's/DVD's are better (and much cheaper), but of course, you need a printer that supports them. I find LightScribe and similar technologies to be very expensive per disc, very slow, monochrome, and low-quality.

#61, BillDee, did you even use this or any other label designer? CD Label Designer and its competitors do support spines, etc.

For the registration: you need to copy and paste the whole registration code, and the last nukmber is a 9, which goes to the second line. Without this 9 you cannot register the programme.

Excellent and the best of all label makers.

One drawback: The labels often get stuck inside the CD slot. Be sure to have a putty knife handy to extract the small bits of adhesive.

It's been quite a while since I have seen anything here that grabs me. I pretty much have all the stuff that I need. And then some. :) I basically downloaded this one since I have yet to find a CD labeler that is quick and easy to use but also allows detailed configurations if needed. I must have at least 5 or 6 labeler programs now. Maybe more since I have so many media players and many of them include extras like labeling.

Doing a quick run through of this program shows me that it is seemingly able to do most anything when it comes to making CD labels. I can't believe how many different options are available. One complaint I have with some labelers is that they are difficult to work with your music list of the individual songs. I HATE being stuck hassling with trying to edit things only to find that a simple change isn't so simple. Or that you end up affecting every part of the list when you only want to edit one thing. Or that the program automatically decides how the page should look and fights you all the way when you try to change things.

Today's GOTD is a real winner in my book. The GUI is attractive and I like the way the program started out by easily running through some of the configurations. This is clearly user friendly software. So far everything I have played around with has been easy to accomplish and, equally important, the end results look good. Regarding the price the company normally charges for this product, I think $19.95 is a better price point but that's their decision. Today it is free so neither I nor anyone else here has a right to complain. Thanks to both Dataland and GOTD.
