So now I had time to actually test this software in a safe environment.

Unfortunately I have to say the whole thing is quite quirky. It starts with the installer, that asks for the language, but seems to decide for itself which language you will get. German translation is really crude. So the interface don't give you much useful information at all. Very soon the programmed stalled and had to be terminated. I gave up at that point. Seems to need intensive care!

hehe Well, I have not tried this program yet. I just wanted to comment that it is nice to see the producer trying something out for free. Often times companies give softwares away for free because it is in a testing phase. Once it gets enough feedback, it will start charging after it has fixed all the problems. Thank you to all those who have given softwares away for free. I have downloaded quite a number full and found a few gems. So my suggestion to all you fellow potential users is to try it out. It might just be what you hold onto for life. There is this one software that I got that really does cool stuffs for me.

I just finished a test, this software has access to your computer via back door using UDP internet networking. Uninstalled at once.

Giovanni, do you download and test these GOTD items before you comment? Your praise for today's seems to be based on their web site, not on use. After removing a couple obvious content-free positives, the comments are nearly universal in saying it didn't work, or at least not right. Yet the thumbs up lead. Huh.

Also, Giovanni, I've repeatedly tried programs you recommend as free only to find that they are limited time or function demos and not free at all.

No problem with registration. Used the mouse right-click function to copy and paste the info from the little SUCCESSFULLY ACTIVATED pop-up and not the README file. Hope it helps.

PhotoRec is file data recovery software designed to recover lost files including video, documents and archives from hard disks, CD-ROMs, and lost pictures (thus the Photo Recovery name) from digital camera memory.

PhotoRec ignores the file system and goes after the underlying data, so it will still work even if your media's file system has been severely damaged or reformatted.

This is from the PhotoRec website homepage, which Giovanni recommended (Thanks G). It looks like this developer took it and reworded some of it.

My Spidey sense is Tingling! Beware!
