Instead of people arguing over legality, you can pick up a fully licensed copy of BusinessCards MX from Bits du Jour on Thursday, September 4th, for $17.67. I’m going to purchase ClipMate, the best of the clipboard extenders.

It’s been a l-o-n-g time since I used dialup, but I used to like Headlight Software GetRight download manager, because downloading could be scheduled better than other download managers (at that time; I no longer use or pay attention to them).

@ #190 lostamoeba: Thanks for your reply. I understand what you said, but I don’t understand why I only have the demo version. I downloaded it right after it was offered. I thought I had to “register” but couldn’t figure out how, and I was told no, I didn’t have to. So how is everyone else who didn’t register able to use it, but I’m not? (That more rhetorical.) I guess this free version is just lost to me. I know $30 isn’t a lot, but I wouldn’t be printing very many cards either. So I’ll have to think about buying it. But I appreciate you saying what a good program it is in case I do decide to buy. So, thanks again!!

* edit. To rephrase. I don’t use this program all the time, but only because I don’t make cards all the time. I’ve deleted the others and for now, this is the only business card software I use.

@ #185, Fubar. I’m happy the information helped :) I really like the adjustable grid setting, too! Yep @ entering own value, too. I thought I had written that, but oops :s It’s same as info in post #96 for the rotation, too :)

@ #186, Bev D. I deleted the program and installed the demo, but wasn’t able to recreate the same watermark; I have a paid version, so maybe the registration details stayed in the registry. I thought your watermark was different from the one I had when I had the demo, so, I asked Mojosoft Software and they said,

“Demo version has red watermark “BusinessCards MX”. Anyone can use the test version of this program with the watermark on the printout.To remove the notice on the printout you must buy a license and register the program.”

I hope that information helps. From my experiences in using this software, it is well worth the $30 and their customer support is amongst the best & most responsive that I’ve ever dealt with. Even though I don’t use this program all the time, it created exactly what I wanted and that peace of mind was worth it for me.

@ #187, #188, Celt42. I agree that the term can mean different things to different companies and if people really want to know, they need to ask the company and GOTD for GOTD’s definition. I agree about the criticizing grammar, spelling, typos, etc., too. I don’t like to do that.

I use a download manager but when I lose my internet connection it still restarts from the beggining even when using the mirror link. It always tells me that this site does not support resume.

Hmmm…I forgot to mention that it usually works better when one selects the mirror link [ie., "Mirror link #1"]. I just tested the resume function in “FreeDownloadManager”, “FreshDownload”, and “OrbitDownloader” with the GAOTD’s Wed Aug 27 offering and they all were able to correctly resume the download where they left off.

Out of curiosity, which download manager are you using?

This back and forth snarling about what “non-commercial” actually means is quite entertaining but is not getting us very far. It seems to mean different things to different companies, so why don’t those who really want to know simply ask the company, in this case Majo Software?

Hi, I’m still hoping that someone can help me with my problem, asked in #155. Has anyone else had the problem of the words “BUSINESSCARDSM” kitty corner across their business cards in preview and when they printed? If so, what did you do about it? Thanks for taking the time to read. And even more thanks if you can help me!!
