Yesterday, August the 14th, for some reason this offer, Boostspeed 6, became unregistered. Why the licence disappeared, I don't know. Today I got a message from Auslogics inviting me to purchase the new Boostspeed 7. What an unfortunate coincidence. So, I was wondering, did it also happen to anyone else ?

All in one junk cleaner, defragger, internet optimizer, tweaking system files for optimization, really nice program so far from what I see.

To late to give a good review except by experience Auslogics main app was totally awesome .. then sometimes more recently I think it was this app that seemed so dumbed down. I will download and hope I am wrong.

#31. No, no need to uninstall CCleaner or other products in this category. It's not like installing two or more anti-virus programmes that run at the same time and "fight" each other, or using more than one disk defragmenter with one organising files one way and then the other organising them its way. CCleaner will find things BoostSpeed doesn't and BoostSpeed will find things CCleaner doesn't. You can run both (at different times), or run one and not the other, or pick and choose which features of each to enable and essentially create your own hybrid. For example, I like Advanced Systems Care, but I don't use its disk defragmenter because I use a different one.

I've never commented before but with my i5 Dell laptop behaving like a $299 no name, I felt compelled to comment.
I was slow to boot, slower to open Firefox, Windows Live Mail wouldn't open and I had a couple error messages on start up.
On a Win 7 i5, 2.67 GHz, 64 bit - BoostSpeed was ab easy install, fast and clean, The scan was amazingly fast. An the fix actually worked.

Problems solved. Happy user.

I don't know how to disable automatic updates. I didn't see anything in settings.

I pretty much like Auslogics Products; EXCEPT this one. I Totally agree with No. 3's comment. This "Full" version does not work any better than their Free version. In fact, that is why I would Never pay $49.95 for something that is Full of HYPE.

I use UNHACKME keeps my system running sweet.

Easy installation and registration. There's a lot to this program, from driver update to registry defrag and everything in between. I like it. What I'd like to see changed are two things. First, make the interface resizable for those of us who don't have perfect vision. I mean, even my email, browser and most other programs are resizable. And second, it needs a simple floating desktop widget with network traffic speed up/down, percentage of cpu usage to know how hard the processor is working at a glance, and percentage of memory used or remaining. With these two changes Auslogics BoostSpeed would be nearly Godlike. For now it is very good and I am keeping it while looking forward to seeing my suggestions implemented in future versions. Adieu

I have used Auslogics products for several years and was pleasantly surprised that the Giveaway Today is their SpeedBoost. Their software has been very stable offering me great peace of mind. I use their Defrag as my primary Defragger.

I'm often wary of these all singing, all dancing programs but after reading some of the other comments, I decided to give it a try.

I already use a couple of junk cleaners such as ccleaner and system ninja, so wasn't expecting much.

Whilst the junk that it found was minimal, as expected, some of the other features of the program revealed some surprises, especially the privacy protection feature.

I like the fact that the program can backup all changes just in case something doesn't work, so you can go back to a point prior to fixing.

The only thing of note that I found when it came to privacy protection was that is essentially disabled all of ghostery settings in chrome, so I had to set it up again.

A very thorough program and well worth a try.

If it has made changes you don't like , you should be able to restore back , via :Advanced tools > rescue centre, and choose one of it's backup points.

What I'm trying to suggest today is looking at it from another person's perspective -- someone who fits BoostSpeed's targeted audience. Maybe that person has an older PC or laptop -- many don't have the resources to buy the latest top rated hardware, & for many others it's just not a priority. Sometimes every little bit of added or restored speed helps, especially when upgrading can't or won't be considered.

Maintenance can be a tricky issue. If you talk to or read the recommendations of an expert in almost any area there's usually maintenance that they'll advise. We should ideally do better towards or for our bodies, our cars, our carpeting, our furniture, our plants, our lawns... the list of [often so-called] expert advice goes on & on. Sometimes it seems a lifetime isn't enough.

Some people aren't going to maintain their PCs or the copy of Windows that's installed on it, whatever their reasons. You can tell them they should, that they need to, but they haven't so far & it still works, so you're gonna be ignored. Maybe they'll install & run BoostSpeed because of the *Speed* part, & as long as they have a backup so you don't have to play at tech support, maybe it'll help.

The word is GREED.

We are all greedy for free stuff.

And why not.

But up to a certain point, when you have had enough of giveaway and free software and there are (say for example) 900 programs in your PC, then enough is enough.

From then on, be more selective and pick and choose only those that you really like.

Don't take any chances with questionable stuff that may damage your PC irretrievably even after an uninstall process.

Nowadays computer coders may not always be ethical. Some do not like it that you remove their software and will do something to your system. Some will make serious changes without even notifying your first - and that means without your approval. Sometimes the damage is not intentional - it is just that the program coders are very low quality sub-sub-sub-contract staff.

Stay safe.

Monitored BoostSpeed install, update, & most of the proposed fixes in my XP Mode VM. I have to say that for its intended market, whom I assume are very casual or less techie users, it's not bad at all. I'd almost recommend it to my wife & oldest son, but I know they wouldn't bother -- they've got me & my 2nd son to handle anything maintenance related, regardless how much we look forward to that sort of thing [which is not a whole lot needless to say].

When you 1st start the program it shows that it needs updated -- it basically adjusts its settings to your PC. There are 4 tabs up top, with a sort of toolbar across the bottom. About the only thing I can imagine that would make it easier to use would be pop-up tabs telling you more about what each section across the bottom does, e.g. Disk Space looks for & deletes left over temporary files & empties the browser cache. You can set options on what to look for during each type of scan, & drill down to see exactly what it finds & proposes fixing. What it does find seems on the less aggressive side of things, though I'd still recommend a backup before anyone started deleting anything.

The Live Protect tab shows the software's CPU & Memory optimization, & also lets you turn those features of very debatable worth on/off. From the System Tools tab, on the far right of the toolbar you'll see All Tools -- here there's quite a few separate utilities, some potentially fairly useful, along with some where the main benefit is not having to figure out where or how to get to the Windows dialogs they mimic.

My overall impression is that BoostSpeed wants to pat you on the back, wants to make you feel good about the fact that you took the time & effort to use it. Whether that's just another marketing angle, or would actually encourage someone to better maintain Windows is up to you.

I think if this sort of software helps, or how much it can help, depends on the state of the PC or laptop.

Many years ago I used to manage auto shops -- to some people as long as they could get their car or truck started everything was fine. We might see them when they could no longer start their vehicle, and by then it was a terrible mess. Sometimes it seemed the only thing still working properly was the cigarette lighter, because they didn't smoke. Sometimes we'd get yelled at for breaking the air conditioning -- the mechanic had turned it off & forgotten to push the button in on the dash, turning it back on. If we had disconnected the battery, sometimes we had to tune their radio for them -- hard when they had no idea what station they had had it tuned to. Many people are that way with PCs.

It's not that they're stupid -- there are just things that they don't know about, or maybe don't care too much about, &/or maybe can't grasp intellectually. Many people's lives are so busy they don't, have never had the time. At least that's my guess, since I've found it hard to think the same way when I try to understand. They may not ever do any maintenance with Windows or their PC. Microsoft &/or their MVPs often suggest re-installing Windows -- it's easier for them to say that rather than to try diagnosing a problem, and it may be safer, or at least more practical, than advising things Windows users should do for maintenance.

If someone isn't going to clean out at least some of the accumulated garbage in Windows, they're probably not going to heed that advise & reinstall everything, but they might run a program like BoostSpeed. And maybe doing that is better than not doing anything at all?

Now some people don't like apps like BoostSpeed because they don't, can't do anything you couldn't already do yourself. In that respect I look at it as the same thing as paying some kid to cut your lawn or shovel the snow in your driveway. Some people don't like this sort of software because the companies selling it can never resist the temptation to make dubious claims & generally pump up the volume of pure hype. Who knows, maybe some of their customers aren't satisfied unless a company constantly tells them how smart they are to choose that product?

There is no denying that there are companies selling similar software &/or services, often with an anti-malware component, that many think should not just be shut down, but the people running it should be put in jail. But it's like that with any sort of product -- there are many who'd like to see some GM execs do serious prison time over past ignition switch problems. Auslogics so far has a solid reputation.

You're very correct, but it's not just tune-up software you need to be wary of. Over the years I've had all sorts of software, much of it from big brands, muck up Windows. I've had drivers that once installed broke Windows so it wouldn't even run. Microsoft software, including Windows itself, was sometimes the culprit. IMHO it's critical to have a reasonably current image backup of the Windows partition that you can easy restore. It also can help, sometimes quite a lot, to use virtualization software whenever you install or update anything like Karl does.

I got lazy the other day & didn't fire up my virtualization app, Time Freeze, before updating VirtualBox to the newer version -- I'd never had a problem before so I [stupidly] felt safe. On the bright side I've now got experience with Paragon's new backup format.

I'm sure that from your perspective that's probably very true. I could also see someone with no knowledge or experience beyond starting Windows & playing a game or browsing the web facing the consequences of neglecting Windows housekeeping entirely. Plus software's gotten more demanding & their PC isn't getting any newer, so any inefficiency might have out-sized effects. *IF* [and I'm stressing IF] BoostSpeed makes an improvement, maybe it's saved that person from 1st learning how, & then performing that Window's housekeeping, or maybe it's saved them from re-installing Windows & their software.

#27 Giovanni. after going to Toolwiz and getting error msg. i clicked on 'downloads' anyway and everything started working. i downloaded GameBoost.

Cleaning the registry from .HLP and other extensions can not speed up a PC.
Cleaning a .TMP files or directories can not speed up a PC.
Defragmenting memory will not speed up a PC.
How on earth are you going to speed up the CPU, over clock it or replacing it is the only way to speed up a PC.
Only way to increase the Internet speed is to ask your provider for faster DSL or faster wi-fi, there is no other way.
Making the transmission connections pockets bigger or smaller is just a gimmick.

I wish to try this software.

The severity of lots of issues is really questionable and together with childish interface it looks a bit confusing, but still Auslogics BoostSpeed does its job and does it perfectly. I prefer Glary utilities but installed BoostSpeed 5.5 on my mom's pc and guess what? Yeah, I saw no functional difference.
What about 1-year subscription: they issue regular updates and adjust/optimize the program for new OS versions and service packs, or do you think that only antiviruses require regular updates?
Today we have an opportunity to get it for free so it's at leas meaningless to argue the price.

I already have Glary Utilities, Wise Care and Win Utilities--all free from Giveawayoftheday (and thanks, GAOTD)--and ran all of them prior to DLing and using this one. It found a few more items to clean up and gave me a 5 second speed up. I'll try BoostSpeed first next time I clean up my computer (which is about 6-7 years old now). I use Windows 7 64 bit OS. My computer does not load pages any faster than it did before and I frequently resort to the F5 button to boost page-loading.

Toolwiz Care has disappeared from their home page and I wonder why...

With ASC prof giveway I experienced a Stop of the professional features after even less than a year. After being asked to update (PRG "expired")I was asked a registration code which I would have had to buy.

After trying out this program, I can say that it's not particularly harmful and it does offer to back up the registry before modifying it, but at the end of the day, it's a whole lot of little or nothing. If you're meticulous and have a stopwatch, you can measure a difference in the speed of some operations; maybe a second or two improvement, but it's nothing that's going to make you slap your face and say, "Wow! My computer is SO much faster now!" That's just not going to happen.

You can speed up boot time by optimizing the registry and by disabling automatic startup of programs that really don't need to start automatically when Windows loads. It's also a good idea to keep your computer fairly free of unnecessary junk files and references to files or programs that aren't on the system anymore, but if you genuinely believe a program like this is going to extend your time for barbecues and gaming, then you have been sold a bill of goods, simple as that. Buy in if that's your preference.

Warning! I ran this program on my system, for some reason it respected all settings and history on Google chrome, yet the similarly chromium based program srware iron is totally messed up, all bookmarks are gone, basic program settings are wiped, yet history is still present!! If I cannot get my bookmarks and settings back, I am uninstalling this program!!

As with other software of this type carefully review the suggested "repairs" before clicking go. For example, it wanted to turn on various Win features that I had turned off intentionally, such as Remote Desktop, which is an unneeded security risk if you don't use it.
Also wanted to delete system event logs, which are vital to debugging issues. etc. etc.

I love this prog, not sure if it really 'boosts speed' that much , but has many useful system tweeks and options eg find and remove duplicates files, explore discs.
Also a good systems adviser scan , when then offers the option to switch off things you may not need.

I installed this GOTD on my 4 years old EEE 7 starter netbook. I hardly use it these days as I have Android Tab, however it found few things to fix. I saved 20 seconds but I don't know where. Boot takes ~56 seconds (as show by the "wise care" we got as GOTD few months ago) same as it was before installation. (the culprit is Avira that takes 27 sec to load on the EEE)

So... have not tried, hence my comment has no value regarding this product.

However, lemme give you a tip:


1. glary utilities is my favorite for windows

2. a litte command very simple to eliminate unecessary files and to increase the speed:


press "start"

enter %tmp% in the tiny command window

press enter

press CTRL + A

press DEL to remove all these files.
Essential files will not accept to be deleted.
Press "ignore"

Repeat this operation until only necessary files (they know themselves and your computer will act properly)


step 2:

use Glary utilities as usual


FYI: my portable PC is an "old" ACER ASPIRE 9423WMSi with swiss keyboard. It was trashed and I got it for free.

It was running under VISTA (yuck)

So I formatted, installed Windows XP, applied the SP1, SP2, SP3 packs.

Then I installed on a dual-boot with Linux XUBUNTU 14.04

dual boot allows to choose, at boot, either Windows either XUBUNTU as running OS.

This old machine is now running like a FERRARI!

I'm really pleased to see this here. I installed one of Auslogic's other programs i.e. Auslogic’s free defrag program onto my oldest & slowest computer the other week (together with a couple more programs such as CCleaner, Ad-Aware etc), with a view to speeding it up. When I installed Auslogic's free defrag it also installed a demo of todays giveaway, which I found really helped to sort my slow computer effectively and with little fuss. It now boots up in about 45 seconds from a cold start (whereas previously it was taking almost two minutes) and everything responds much faster; which, for a computer that I built in 2006 with a low end Athlon dual core (2.2GHz) and only 4GB of sys RAM, it's brilliant. It's like I’ve only just built the thing. With that in mind I highly recommend today's giveaway.

If you don't want to install yet more management programs; you can emulate this program to a certain extent by using other free programs like Process Lasso, or even just the computers own system programs to turn off all those unnecessary programs that will undoubtedly be running in the background following start up when you boot your computer up.

A good free program for those with slower computers and who play a lot of games is Game Booster, which can be turned on and off at the click of a button, and will turn off all unnecessary system programs, plus any you configure it to do (for example all of the giveaways you may have installed over the years you’ve been visiting here). When you are done, close the program and all of those programs will be turned back on. :)

If you have a super duper quad core with 8 or more Gig's of sys RAM and a couple of Gig's of video RAM, you don't need Bootspeed installed on your computer.

Not a bad program in itself...but...the relatively short lifespan is a bit of a downer, I'll stick to using Toolwiz care, which has (so far anyway) kept my system running nice and smoothly. Maybe the paid version of this program would do a better job...Guess I won't be finding out anytime soon.

Get hold of the latest System Mechanic can do all this and more might cost a few dollars but you won,t regret it even for older OSs

I still have GOTD's "Auslogics Boost Speed 5.5" on my Win XP SP3 machine.
I use it rarely. After license is expired, you get a pop-up asking you
if you want to "update" or "close".
When you select "Close", the program start screen pops up and you can
use the software as before. No need to "update" for money.

I have no idea if this version here behaves in the very same way.

Mostly I use this software for the "System Tweaks" every few months
when Windows settings have changed for no apparent reason again.
But $49.95 for this software??

And, folks, as with all GOTD software, do not forget to change the
name of the icon/program to GOTDboostspeed during install - so that
you are reminded to NOT update!

Generally when this company's software is on offer I look forward to a really decent bit of software, this is the first time I have been disappointed.
Their interfaces tend to be slightly on the geeky side, lots of useful but slightly technical information; this one is more on the kindergarten side, dreadfully dumbed down.
Auslogics, please go back to your normal type of programs and interface, programs that are worth keeping, unlike this one!

Usually I don't use SHAREWARE products to speedup my PC, but this GAOTD comes from Auslogics and, in my view, it's absolutely one of the best PC Tune Up utilities on the market right now.

So my advice is to forget moaners here and download and install it before this offer is over, even though there are tons of alternative tools out there which can do the same job for FREE, namely improve the overall performance of your PC in about every area of it!

I'm not writing a pro or con on this program. The publisher is over stating it's rating with CNET by a star. It's not five stars but, four. They do give good marks for BoostSpeed 6.5.6. A while back GOTD had Wise Care 365 and I love it. I'll download this and take it for a test drive.

Compared to the older, clean version (5.5), the new user interface is.. ugly, no user friendly. It looks like a children's program and not to care about the system.

I used to be mad for utility packages. Whenever I saw something new I had to try it. Over time I found this was not doing me or my computer any good. I have an old XP2 system but I still want to keep it running right. I shy away from these one click solutions as most have no effect on my system at best to making program stop working or worse, my system not to boot up. Thank goodness I keep an updated image of my hard drive handy.

Upon start a small not resizable window opens with a modern interface. The program asks for update and updates without problems and tells me, that there will be the next update tomorrow. So fast changing basics???

Down on the right side, the program says, that the subscription expires in 352 days. Not really ONE year.

The programs starts to scan the computer and : RED!RED!RED! alert.

It finds, that some 80 Mbyte of disk space can be freed (log and temporary files), that 137 issues give a "severe" impact on the computer speed, and that 74 issues are impacting the system stability.

I took a look at the severe issues.

from the 137 issues 115 are registry issues and these 115 are all file extensions. (explorer opens with...) hmmm...

18 are internet speed issues for the Iexplorer, which I do not use as browser and the Firefox - Keep alive Timeout or request buffer size. Okay this can be discussed.

8 are invalid help file related entries, 18 are missing uninstaller and the remaing 48 "system errors" are firewall related rules, which are handled by my firewall in a IMHO perfect way.

No, non of these "severe impact issues" have any influence on the system stability.

Then there is a memory & CPU optimization, which I do not need with about 5% CPU usage and 20% of memory usage - including my RAMdisk.

The Statistics shows that is has saved 6 seconds. 3 seconds by CPU optimization and 3 seconds my memory optimization - and it tells me in the same window : more barbecue with my friends per year and more hour of intense gaming per year !!! it should be funny, but it isn't.
