BoostSpeed is the simplest way to repair, clean up and speed up your PC. It is an immensely popular system utility suite that provides one-click cleanup and repair functionality and offers registry cleanup and defrag, disk defrag, startup management, Internet optimization, privacy protection, recovery of accidentally deleted files, Windows tweaking and more.

The Action Center includes Windows features that can be enabled for improved security, as well as additional applications that can be installed to cover essential system needs, such as antivirus software (if none is installed), data backup tools and similar. The Action Center tips help the user protect their data, prevent virus infections and avoid other potential problems, which can be especially helpful for novice users who have little experience in dealing with these issues. The Privacy Protection section allows users to review the kind of sensitive information that may be revealed, see a detailed list of items detected and control what portions get erased.

Had this version but unlike previous versions not as good , memory hog and unexplained errors from time to time.
Have since uninstalled .
Noticed there a far more recent version now.
Expected an offer on the latest ,if it is more refined than older versions.

Don't care for this privacy invading software. What I saw:
1. During installation it attempted Internet access.
2. Then "Disk Defrag" attempted Internet access.
3. It (BoostSpeed.exe) then attempted Internet access again.
4. It then opened my web browser to a Thank You page (I'm used to seeing that)
5. Then GoogleAnalyticsSender attempted to access the Internet.
All of this happened BEFORE THE INSTALLATION WAS EVEN FINISHED!
And all of this came *from* this installation (I have never seen it before now).
Then the program automatically opens itself without asking. It then tells me I must close my web browsers to continue. I then attempt to close the confounded program and it puts up a large "ATTENTION!" screen telling me that if I close it, the "Memory Optimization" and "Processor Optimization" will be disabled "which may result in performance loss". Ha.
Don't like this and I'm removing it immediately. I wish I too would have listed to the comments here...

How would you measure any speed increase if it was not really noticeable?

Bummer - I' made a mistake TODAY........I've had an older version for some time and it WORKED pretty good - without problems.......BUT decided to download this "supposedly newer version just as an Update.
WRONG.......First it uninstalled my older version and the new one did install with no problem. got the NEW key, ran it "ALL" then discovered my Anti-mailware part DON'T work, anymore BUT IF I want to PAY now, I can get it back...which I've had for some time.....However discovered something else.....WHAT A MEMORY HOG the Anti part is....using up to 220+ MEGS just "Running"...one strange thing, the new one took nearly 10 minutes to "scan" for JUNK....the old one took maybe a minute or two at the most.
Bottom line, guess I'll just uninstall the whole program >Everything<...that HAD worked fine in cleaning up....and Restore wouldn't "GIVE" me back what I DID HAVE........Sad Day

This won't even extract with 7zip, or Powerarchiver.
Downloaded twice with no luck. Keep getting 'class not registered' messages and stuff.

Strange - it worked to me.....just using the "Extract" part of 7zip....not the regular one that comes up - which never works for me anyway........maybe that's the "clue"? (extract)

iwontell, Maybe it's my 5 year old windows install that's changed some files. It used to work fine, but somehow it seems to have gone flakey recently.
Maybe time for a fresh re-install of my progs or Win 7, but most things seem to still be working ok.
Cheers:)

Tried to download BoostSpeed twice, in both cases during the installation process I was getting the same message "corrupted files, download again". Did not work third time either. Gave up. Never had such problem with all software I ever downloaded from the Internet.

Not sure why this is happening.
1. I have made a request to the specified web page to get a license key. Nothing has come in 2 hours. I have made the request many times. It is not in the spam folder.

2. I have opened that web link up in 3 browsers and in all 3 I cannot see the box to enter my email and to wait for the license key, despite changing windows size. It says enter email but you cannot see the box to enter the email.
I went to another computer and can see the box with one browser. So I am waiting hours for the key.

I use this same aol email address with that company many times through the years. I am on their mailing list.

That's odd - when I pasted the "link" from GOTD, it automatically came up with the KEY" on the page....not my Email....then just copy-pasted....

I have use a few of this kind of software, and I decided do not use them any more, because due to them, I have to reinstall my OS about 3-4 times already. I don't say they are bad, but you need to go though all and every one of the registry entries that it offer to delete, so you don't take off an essential one. That requires a long time to check every one an determine if it is required or not. As result, usually your registry is damaged. Thanks for the offer, but it's not for me.

Noted the version 7.4 and registry cleaner.....if it works I'm a monkey.....or at least finding OLD JUNK to get rid of...I know for a fact there are more than a dozen "missing" entries or ones that should be removed that IT MISSED though I put up with them for reasons that don't matter.....
Have two other Reg Cleaners that always find them but I "ignore"...so wonder why this one don't catch the "bad boys"?

Reply   |   Comment by iwontell  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

Sux2BU, I don't know why your post has been voted down as this is the softwares version history which I also think is important for other users to see: for everyone with windows 10, this Gotd version on offer by the company doesn't appear to support it despite claiming it does. Not until the following version is it only then tested on just the technical preview of windows 10... That's pretty bad.

Anyway, I'm not installing it as I have w10 and urge others to be careful if they do too.

Seeing that there are warnings for Windows 10 users that this is not compatible with that OS, I shall leave this one alone. In fact, My PCs are running quite well with the included software that does this job, and I'm happy with the performance I have.

Thanks guys for letting us know this is not for Windows 10.

If it's such a good program why is one constantly nagged to upgrade to the newest version? Which then of course must be paid for since lisence doesn't work on it.
I just cant see how the old version offered is good as the current one.

Other than that, the best way to boost speed is to get a Solid State Hard Drive and a faster CPU

Download, installation and registration were flawless. However, after doing a scan Boot Speed came up with a number of suggestions to improve my PC's speed which I let it do and noticed a marked difference in performance ... My system was very sluggish and when I re-scanned my system with Boot Speed it reported that my system was in poor condition ... well it was in prefect condition before Boot Speed did its thing. I'm not saying the software is bad, Auslogic produce good stuff, it could be that it doesn't like my system. Uninstalled and system restore done.

so what good is this program if it's old and the time limit has expired on it and if the registration not working what good is it than , I presume you won't be able to get updates that are needed for this program if it old ... THINK EVERY ONE SHOULD PASS THIS UP, LIKELY A PLOY TO GET YOU TO BUY THE NEW VERSION.

Reply   |   Comment by DARRELL  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+16)

DARRELL ,
After perusing your obviously well considered comment the thought occurred that there could be errors in it.

1) It hasn't expired.
2) It registered without difficulty.

On installing on a barely used Windows 7 drive which was already becoming sluggish it did the following:-

Got rid of 360 MB of wasted space.
Repaired some stability problems.
Repaired some speed problems.

As result there was a marked improvement in the boot time of this drive and in the speed at which it operated!

Salvia,
Sounds good but for a person who would spend $59.95 for it then or the latest versions now you can do what it did for you -free- with other popular programs.

If you had been using the free programs you wouldn't of had the "wasted space" etc.

Thanks anyway, but I'll pass too, and get Puran Utilities or Wise Care 365 updated and ready for Win10.

Reply   |   Comment by Allan  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+10)

Allan , I would safely state that this version was released well before Win 10, because I remember that I got a free key for BoostSpeed 8 while still running Win 7. So I agree, better stick with something newer.

Reply   |   Comment by Jordan  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+10)

Jordan, Indeed, but I can't find anything stating, this version is ready to operate with Win10. TuneUp Utilities (now AVG) wasn't ready for Win10, and it took the a couple of month, before a major update was released.

A bit of advice. Please, uncheck the reg. database cleaner from the "one click optimizer", if anybody choose to take the offer. Let CCleaner (added with CCleaner Enhancer) and Windows own disc cleaner take care of that. It's too risky - especially when the version is that outdated.

For a deep cleaning, I'll recommend, Koshy, John's DiskMax. Please, read the help file, and you will experience a minor miracle :-)

Downloaded this the last time it was offered; that was version 7.9 premium, today's is version 7.6 so I will not be downloading it.

Modern programs of this type can help when Windows gets screwed up and runs like molasses, and so I am willing to use them.

A few years ago this was not the case but things appear to have changed, certainly helped me recently.
