Installed without problem on my desktop PC (XP sp3) and my portable (Win7).
I had to authorize transfers in both firewalls for this to work.
In my opinion, it lacks of reviews on the net or help in the program in this regard and with regard to safety in particular.
However, the program seems to work great.
Thanks !

I check here daily for some very good software offers. If the software runs on all my computers I buy the software. The main reason I come here is to read the comments and opinions that are submitted. The suggestions of alternate offers are often a better choice.

Thank ou GAOTD

Many people are comparing Beyond Share to applications which work completely differently. Beyond Share is push-oriented, not pull-oriented. I like it for the security, I'm not going to share folders on my business computer, nor am I interested in synchronization. For the paranoid, it works completely within your LAN, and if you're worried, that's what firewalls are for. You specify the target for operations, and it doesn't even send your clipboard contents unless you tell it to. I did find it a bit cumbersome. Between an XP and a Win7 machine, neither found the other. I entered the IP addresses manually, which it remembers. Of course, there is some initial firewall configuration, but that's a one-time deal. I find it useful for what it does, but I do think that it should be much cheaper, since I will rarely use it. I didn't have any problems shutting it down completely, I wonder what others are doing.

For sharing media, there are much better solutions than this. First, Youtube works great for videos of course lol. Upload all your videos to Youtube right away and never worry about where they exist again. For sharing photos, you might as well use Facebook lol... And for sharing music, use Tomahawk. You don't have to worry about where your files exist, just as long as you have a Google account you can connect to any of your friends/families' libraries, and just search for the song from then on. There is no downloading to worry about; just streaming. Plus, Tomahawk lets you search for and play music from Youtube, Last.fm, Spotify, and more.

There is no such thing as "cloud storage." There is storage on some third parties' hard drives that they make available via their servers.

Those who store their files "in the cloud" are fools and idiots. This program is aimed at people who aren't.

We have TWO testifiers that the following is NOT true:

Earlier, Lewis Tian, Beyond Share Support, wrote, "... It continues working in background if you minimize it. But it doesn’t reside in memory if click “X” — July 9th, 2012 at 10:12 am ..."

Lewis, if you want system information, please contact the two of us who testify that the program does NOT leave memory when clicking [X] -- for me, the last BeyondShare standing in the network hangs, but I CAN kill it with SysInternals Process Explorer, and no other way.
