This app sounds great for my sister and her bf who aren't pro's on a computer. I'm the one who always "optimizes" and cleans their system every week or so, so this app is great for people like that who don't know how to do it themselves. I can set it all to happen on it's own.

Thanks for this handy little app Nikolai.

"[does] things that need a specalist time and money" or something like that from the program's website. Yeah right.. how can something we've never heard of replace IT people in something so simple and with such little detail on the website?

#17. Yeah, but do you wanna pay 40 dollars for a splash screen to link to various programs they didn't make?

For anyone, if you don't like this site, just search for free serials to programs you want.

you're kidding me, right?

i'm not even going to test this as i KNOW the only thing it CAN do, is defrag, empty recylce bin and maybe chkdsk! once somethings been tweaked/set, what else it there to do. no need for some crap to run in background and at startup. totally rediculous!!

GOTD must have been searching hard for this. this program is a waste. i'd love to meet someone who'd actually pay for this. no offense to the programmer, but hell, a simple batch file can do all of what this program does an more!

....$40 lol

@74 122,(Fubar)
You think, you are the only one that did test... Tested OFTEN myself on several computers! - Results in short: found that its more effective to KNOW what defragmention cant and what it can´t do, and to use/store in intelligent manner, than having/using the 'only super duper defragmenter' available... Of couse ther are a lot of differences between them (and in their mathematical algorhytms most of them could be improved a lot - but if you don´t understand and have real basic knowlege it does NOT make senae to by 'the best' defragmenter.
Another result: some (mislead 'experts') use defraggers wrong and too often... And others care too little about.... And even that shows, how obsolete a prolonged discussion on OUR level is: the adequate use of a (almost every!!!) defragger makes the difference.
BTW: My computer is up in 30(!) to 60 seconds!
And to keep this you need to know more than about defragging...!

With kind regards

#86, (german)werwölfchen, instead of playing the "I'm right and you're wrong" game, why don't you run timing tests on your own PC? Time your PC's boot-up duration as accurately as you can. If there's an application or game which you use that heavily accesses multiple files, time how long it takes to start or run. It's true that disk defragmentation is only one component of performance, won't have much impact on applications which aren't disk I/O bound, and you won't see a difference between defragmentation strategies unless a large number of files are involved. Then download a trial version of PerfectDisk. My recommendation for the initial defragmentation is to do a full defragmentation, then an offline defragmentation, then another full defragmentation (the first defragmentation will consolidate free space and defragment most files, the offline defrag will defragment the system, paging, and hiberfiles, and the third defragment will clean up any performance-related partial defrags from the first pass, and moved files from the offline defrag, thus approximating longer-term use of the defragmenter). Then run your timings again. Another relevant timing is how long a typical defragmentation pass takes. Yet another issue is how well the defragmenter performs under low free-space conditions. There are so many files that a high-quality defragmenter like PerfectDisk defragments and places which the built-in defragmenter doesn't, that I think you'll be surprised by the result.
