I'm not sure that "Audio Recorder" has actually been activated after installing. I still got a purchase icon on my desktop, and although the program says, "Licensed to GiveawayoftheDay.com" it still attaches a "Created with unlicensed version of MediaVigor Audio Recorder" tag to recorded files.

Any idea how I can tell if this will be limited in some unknown way, or stop working after some period of time?

beekersguy - I did read the license agreement formp3mymp3, and did not see the text you quoted below anywhere, nor did I find any sign of RelevantKnowledge on my PC. I don't want spyware on my system either, but I wonder where you are getting your information?

<i>@29 and others- did you read the license agreement for mp3mymp3?

“In order to provide this free download, RelevantKnowledge software, provided by TMRG, Inc., a comScore, Inc. company, is included in this download. This software allows millions of participants in an online market research community to voice their opinions by allowing their online browsing and purchasing behavior to be monitored, collected, aggregated, and once anonymized, used to generate market reports which our clients use to understand Internet trends and patterns and other market research purposes. The information which is monitored and collected includes internet usage information, basic demographic information, certain hardware, software, computer configuration and application usage information about the computer on which you install RelevantKnowledge….”

No thanks to spyware.</i>

Absolutely "No thanks to spyware," but I'm not finding any as a result of having mp3mymp3 on my PC.

#90 many OEM's nowadays write their sound chip drivers to remove all traces of the sound-mixer record input so it is not even a disabled input but a removed one. Apparently one OEM has relented and released a revised driver with the sound-mixer re-instated, but the majority have not. Which makes this offering of little use to us with these castrated sound-chip drivers. Total Recorder (another shareware app) does work with these crippled sound-chips as it installs its own WDM pseudo sound card T filter driver that pipes out the sound to the speaker and provides a software accessible record input, (via their software only)

I also took a look at Donar MP3 Recorder which some people have mentioned (use #112, dewmanna's link, the website links are incorrect). Obviously, don't install the toolbar. On Vista, it must be run as an administrator, and it opens to the system tray. It sees more devices than Audio ToolBox Audio Recorder for Free and has more features and output formats (although the volume control is backwards and the Input Pin is always blank), but Audio Recorder for Free has more MP3 encoding options.

I've tried to load this programme. The interface is not user friendly. It's a trial & error process. No clear instructions to follow. I can't get it to work. I certainly wouldn't buy it. I am going buy a Roxio product. I had roxio on my last computer (WIN 98) but it won't load on this one (XP)

Few of you have bothered to configure the program and that is needed on most computers.

This program will record anything you can play on the computer no matter where it comes from. You only need a mike for external sound and never for internal. READ READ READ

Not quite up to expectations =(

1. No way to save a file once recorded.
2. Wouldn't remove files upon deletion, always came back.
3. Absolutley no help anywhere to be found.
4. Removing from system now.

Installd it on Vista Business on my Lenovo X61 Thinkpad... which doesn't have a Stereo Mix option.. I thought I would probably run into problems of recording silences like some of the posters here but wanted to give it a try anyway.. Played a song from WMP and and recorded it with Audio Recorder without problems.. It was so easy.. Just one button to press .. Record! Next, tried it with music streaming from a radio station.. Press Record.. Stop.. Checked the resultant output which was in MP3 format.... Hey Works Again! Suggest everyone get this.. Being so easy to use, you'll start wanting to record EVERYTHING whether you have use for it or not!

Simple to install. Does what it says it does. Way overpriced at $30. Those who weren't able to record audibly may be suffering from the Dell syndrome. Their pact with the RIAA left their newer models unable to record from the outputs. Only microphone and line-in will work. It's not the program's fault, it's the hardware.

BTW, did anyone know that Audiograbber has a manual record function?
