Hey GOTD,
I had to set my computer back several times in the past couple of days and now, I only have the demo version of "Art Studio". I really like this program and I was wondering if or how I can re-download the version you offered here on your site. Would really appreciate it.

I have a problem! Only the pic,s that came with the demo will load into the program. I can not load any of my own photos to try the program with, is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks to all who have posted advice on using this program. If you open Sample projects and work back and forward in the layers you can understand how to create effects. Earlier I said there was no help offered in the software and this is incorrect. The software offers advice and does what it says and my thanks to the company and GAOTD. It is a keeper.

Error, says: your system doesn't support Pixel Shaders 2.0. Have Dark GDK and other very simuliar software running. I don't see a problem

This would be a better program if you could save the files in a format you could send in e-mail like a JPG.BMP .

I've been a big fan of Jupiter since 2001 (and no, kids, I don't mean the year...)
Every time the good folks @ GOTD offer up a screen saver, the barrage of "TOO MANY CYCLES!" and "TOO BIG A FILE!" (at a paltry 3+ MB) complaints litter the evaluation.
A screen saver is no longer what it was to begin with. let one run, and your processor will run. If you want your system to go to sleep, then address power management. If, OTOH, you want what today's screen savers offer, as in imagery you don't have already rambling around in your collection of stills, then this is worth a run.
Music + pics is a combo that enthralls, suffices, or annoys - and the audience can rarely be predicted for that barometer; but, if you want some savory stuff to saunter across your screen, then give this a look. All the way to the gas giant.

Great program! Only problem is I tried saving it in all different formats (JPeg, SWF , GIF, ETC) but could not get or see the animation running. I also tried E-Mailing it only to say the file has been removed, unsafe attachment. Has anyone else had the same problem or am I doing something wrong?

When you click on "Load Image" or click on "File" and then "New" you will see a window open to search for your picture files. Click on "Files of type" and a drop down menu will pop up and you can choose which file types you have saved your pictures as. Hope this helps you.

Found a short tutorial. http://corner-a.com/page.php?8
Not much but it got me on the right track.
Otherwise I found the program to be rather interesting.
And those complaining about how it doesn't work for you? Probably need to read the system requirements a little closer next time. Save you a headache and wasted download time.

These people are from Russia. That's why you find things that are spelled funny. Like when you click on Help then About, you can see they spelled instead of find - found. lol.

Question. If you can make screen saver, how can you save 'em as a screen saver and then use it?

Well, I just downloaded it on my XP SP3 with Nvidia GeForce 6150 LE, and had absolutely no problems. Now all I have to do is 'play' with it, to figure out how to use it. It mentions 'Layers', which I am not familiar with. I have a pic of a painting of my husband's on my computer as a background pic, and decided to try it with that.

I have been waiting for this type of software giveaway for a long time and really want to make this working. Thanks.

i'm enjoying this program! installed with no problems at all, and i obviously have all the requirements to run it, as it works like a dream. Am looking for a more comprehensive manual for it tho - still trying to figure out how to change size of brush to smaller, and if we can put a few images together to have as a screensaver. I don't think I would have paid full price for this - but as a GOTD, I'm quite happy. Some sort of user manual as well as the ability to perhaps load more filters would have made it even better.

I wish I would have read the feedback before getting my hopes up. This program sounds like just what I've been looking for. Unfortunately I have a good graphics card but not the most updated, some of us can't afford to run with things just because they are new, and some wouldn't do it if we could :) ... It was rather short sighted I think to limit the programs usability by requiring graphic capability that the majority of people do not have as yet.

Hope it works great for those who can run it and hope another program offering the screensaver ability along with the gif animation comes along soon, that does not require the most updated system.
have a great day all

Very nice. Took a pic of my nephew, selected the water behind him and animated it. Added a water sound mp3, and made a swf and screensaver. Both turned out fine. Works fine on my Vist Home Premium (which apparently came with the .net framework as when I tried to install .net, it said I already had it) and NVidia GeForce 6150. If you know how to work with layers and a selection/brush tool, it's really very simple. Thank you GOTD and Corner-A. Thumbs up and a keeper.

Crash my laptop after activated and click to run the application. (try twice). Luckily I set my restore point before dl. Mine is WinXp Home, intel certrino, graphic card etc meet the requirement still get problem. I advise those who intend to 'try' do some precaution (e.g set restore point) before dl. Take care. :P

Learn a programing language and stop useing codeing cheets such as .net or pixel shader. Make your own damn dll's if you have to.

installed and went fine, (vista home basic)
Yes, your puter must support pixel shading 2.0, but most newer computers (even with on board graphics) do. Check your chipset if in doubt.
I dont usally comment, but with all of the negs on this one, I had to give it some props.
Thank You, GOTD

It handles the .dll files strangely and needed some tweaking to even get it to try to start, then kept failing for various reasons. Finally I gave up and deleted it. It might be a good program if what it says on its site is true but all the install problems renders it moot. This needs further development before being widely useful.

I downloaded this program just to check it out.

It installed perfectly no glitches
Runs well and had no problem navigating options
Have not really found any negatives as of yet

One thing I will say if that it is a bit distracting that everything you do on a active layer goes blue but clicking off that layer you can see the effects you have created.

All in all not a bad little program not finished playing yet If I come up with anymore on this program will let you know :)

I tried it, it's completely useless to me. I have 3 computers, all 3 are running XP, all 3 have a gig of RAM, 2 of them have dual monitors 2 of which have high end video boards (Nvidias) and this didn't work on any of them. Maybe someone one should tell the Russians (that's where this came from)that everyone can't afford brand new computers.

Very cool software; sort of like Photoshop lite. FYI, I have a 3 year old Sony VGN660 Laptop, 1 GB Ram, nVidia 6200 card. I needed to install .NET 2.0 SP1 for this to work.

One of the best in recent memory. Thank you very much GOTD!!

#96: "Does anyone knows how I could transfer a show to another program like ProShow Producer."

For importing in other software you'd probably want to export to images, assuming it works for you. Then you could use the individual images, or something like VirtualDub to turn a folder full of still images into an animation or video file. While some software can take apart Flash files (swf) to access the content, you'd probably do better without the extra compression.
