I downloaded an avi file, and this piece of SW could not process it (GOM and VLC worked fine in playing the file) and pops a window suggesting me to download an all-in-one codec. So why should anyone want to pay for this crippled product? On top of that, it doesn't even tell you how to link the codec to the application.

Very, very slow!
Creating menu's take a lot of time... I've tried to create a dvd with the 69vacation theme. Conversion of my .mov files to vob was rather slow (16 minutes to convert 34 minutes of video). Then crash with a message: make menu dvd. And nothing else.
Second attempt with 09bee theme. No crash. But more than 3 minutes to create one page of menu. And it has to create 17 for my 34 files...
I'm very happy it was free...
I only wanted to create dvd's with video files created on my camera. I think the program was created to do that. It does. But not surely. And so slowly...

I installed this and got it wrong the 1st time but thanks to the advice in this forum I got it straightened out and burned 33 music videos that are in .flv format as a DVD. Works great, thanks once again to the GAOTD team.

Apollo DVD Creator created a "useless" DVD movie file from a perfect 24 minutes duration asf file. The synchronisation between audio and video is completely gone! The delay is about half a second. The converted asf file (89 MB) has a dimension 320x180, with frame rate 25.000. There is no -faq- on the website as mentioned in the help file (pdf).

@77. Decryptor has NOT been offered here as you imply it has...Reason? It's ILLEGAL.

It was NOT "Afterdawn". It was infact, Macrovision that made the legal court claim.

DVDfab is NOT the replacement for Decryptor. I will not name the actual replacement here, as it is my understanding that it might be the subject of legal question...

Then again...since you have already named it, which is Imageburn it becomes your problem.

Then for rest of your post...NONE of the software you mention is from this so called "Afterdawn". They are nothing more than a file host.

I guess that with a name like "Hempman" coupled with your comments, one can only conclude that you have and are using a bit too much of your name sake.

It has installed and registered ok with no problems. However, it does not recognise my Pioneer 112 DVD writer. I will probably keep it for the moment as it can write to the HD and I can use any of my many DVD writing softwares to make a disc.

Despite the sarcasm (13) wow... I do have High Speed Cable and dearly for it. I have found downloads extremely slow on this site...maybe 10 to 15 minutes, and on this site only, for some reason. Even small programs on either links.
6 month old Dell computer with all the bells and whistles. Vista.
Not a computer dumbie but haven't figured this problem out yet.

I thought it wasn't connecting until I walked away from it one day, only to find it finally downloaded. Now I just wait it out ;-)
Maybe I am not the only one? .... just wondered why this is happening.
Great offers GAOTD

For the ill informed, DVD Decryptor is NOT illegal, any more than any of the software that rips DVDs offered here. It was bought up by a Europen company and they copyrighted it, so Afterdawn no longer carries it.

At any rate, DVDfab Decryptor is the replacement program and it actually does a better job. I've never had a problem backing up any of the DVD's in my collection with it. Also, since it rips directly to HDD, I can play the movie directly from hard drive or use IMGBURN to make a DVD. Sourceforga also has free programs for changing VOB to mpeg or AVI files. All of these programs are available free from Afterdawn.

I also recommend DVDShrink from Afterdawn, ffDShow from Sourceforge (for those files with audio problems), AC3Filter also from Sourceforge, DVD43 from Sourceforge to decode ANY DVD. All free. Takes a little learning, but these always free programs do a better job than this kludge.

For those with codec problems, try FREE codecs. If you have XP, there is a free codec pack that will solve almost all you video decode/encode problems called appropriately Xp Codec Pack. The codec pack and ffDShow should also solve any audio/video problems you have with this program.
