I've been using the DVD Copy portion to back up my DVDs to HD. It's at least as good as DVD Fab. Easy to use. Thanks, GAOTD.

After I installed this I wanted to get the serial number thing all out of the way and I was unable to find the program. It's not in the program list, it didn't leave a desktop icon and it doesn't auto start when you put a DVD in. I tried it on 2 desktops and my laptop and got the same thing. One Vista, 2 XP, same results. Sounded like a good idea, now I'm scratching my head.

For those who couldn't get the creator to work on Vista, check out DVD Flick. It converts AVI to DVD and burns it.

If a movie is copy protected and you want to make a backup copy, you can also try DVD43, which removes copy protections.

Thanks for the ripper, I will start using that, then using DVD Flick to copy my movies.

i cannot comment on the copy and burn parts, but DVD ripper is a total disappointment even at diff. settings. IT DOES NOT WORK. it starts ripping, toward the end of the job, SW hangs up! failed two times to rip a DVD5 into AVI (output was supposed to be ~550MB and ~280 MB in two settings). all of the components of the package installed successfully in XP though.

To #159: I had same problem, installed ok on XPsp2, registered, Creator opens but when i tried to select file got error. I've never done much with video files, but I download mpeg4 video files from a website for Mom to play using windows media. I'm trying to burn dvds for her to play on her tv. Anyway, I installed DivX and it filled out whatever missing encoders my PC needed so now Aplus Creator will let me select the file and burn a dvd. Unfortunately, Mom's tv/dvd player can't play it, so I'm back where I started. But maybe DivX will help you get past your error too.

#174 - Bill Bob . I run XP home SP3 and had the very same audio missing problem. It turned out that when I was selecting the medium to copy, I wasn't selecting English from the second (audio) drop down menu to the left. Once I'd done this, I had audio on my copy. That was with Include DTS audio being UNCHECKED. Hope this helps you..Regards..

I have Vista, I am the only user and work in Administrator mode, I set the compatibility of the Creator exe to Win XP and it WILL NOT INSTALL. I continue to get a Windows Registry error that shuts down that program.

I have uninstalled (as best I can, since the errors make it difficult to uninstall as well), I have rebooted my machine and have tried the installation several times.

It is not compatible with my Vista. I really wish that people would stop assuming that the users are at fault when the hated-Vista is the culprit. The quality control of the Vista systems is faulty. One person may have a dependable version of Vista while someone else can have the "same" version and have quirks in the operation.

Microsoft is aware of their error. Their response? To force us to BUY Windows 7! Are we going to do it? Of course... other than to use Linux, what choice do we have? I can't even use Ubuntu because my newish laptop is no longer supported by the manufacturer.

Please everyone... the computing world is NOT the same world we have enjoyed for the first 15 years of personal computers. I'm hoping it all settles down in a few years, but I'm not holding my breath.

In the meantime, I guess I will have to settle for 2 out of 3 on this particular GiveAway.

Thanx for this one. It's one of the better progs from Giveawayoftheday. Until now I've used a shrinker to hardisk and then burned from those files. This is so much cleaner, easier and quicker, and it does it all for you, so you don't even have to think. That's always a good thing for me !

Lots of good comments today, but haven't seen anything concerning audio not being copied. Am running XP pro/sp3. Tried 3 times from both of my burners. The video files get put into folder VIDEO_TS, but only an empty folder AUDIO_TS is created, both on the HD and on the DVD. Video plays fine; just no sound. Original is fine.
