Ladies and Gentlemen:

It's not that often these days, to come across a program that performs just what it claims it will at the out set! All of us here have felt the sharp pain of righteous indignation and plain old pissofftitude after digging into a new program, that had promise to deliver to your PC, the ability to teach you 7 new foreign languages of your choice , and to burn a complete and absolutely pristine image of your OS, for later enjoyment!

Our developer today stated at the top: "Almeza MultiSet – Leader in Unattended Installation of Windows and Software! Want to create a Windows installation disk or USB Flash Drive that will automatically install the OS Windows without asking questions about username, product key, time and locale settings?
At the same time your favorite applications are automatically installed, the necessary keys are entered into the registry, drivers are updated, new patches (service packs) from Microsoft are installed. It’s possible and you can do it easily with Almeza MultiSet.
Almeza MultiSet will automatically install all the applications you require, either onto your original computer or onto a new one. It’s an ideal solution for rebuilding your systems quickly!"
From what I've found, by testing the software myself, Found that today's developer has delivered on each one of his claims!
This program is straight forward, and one particular aspect that I came upon, was the program's powerful Uninstall feature. MultiSet performed a very thorough job of uninstalling a program that I had targeted. I'm very happy with today's offering, MultiSet!

I do not have the original Windows disk since my PC came preloaded, so can I still use Almeza's MultiSet?

Excellent little program, I don't see where is the confusion if it says very clearly that you have a wizard if you want to copy the apps only, the OS only or both onto a CD or a flash drive.
If all your apps are at Program Files then you just copy the entire folder which means you are copying your 70 odd apps, right? If your 2nd computer has no OS than you copy just the OS from the 1st computer, right? Simpler cannot be, of course the GUI is very old fashioned and the price is a joke, beyond ridiculous but for someone that needs to re-install large amount of apps is like it says in the introductory cartoon, let Multiset do the work and you go play golf.

First off , I am as guilty as a lot of others that bitch about this and that here.
You know after thinking about it,what is there to be upset with?

People say, We need this program to do this we need that program to do that. We need it to be portable , we need to be able to transfer all of GOTD software to other computers for all eternity. What is with that?

GOTD offers software FREE.....Read that again, FREE.

Don't want it, don't download it. If you download it and use it and don't like it then come back here and say why. This isn't your supply of software for life.

Why would companies want to give up all they make for free forever?
Think about that. I did.

There are things I like here and lots I don't. Some I don't need, and work fine, some work like crap. It varies with peoples needs and the company offering the product.

So think before you make some of the ridiculous requests and demands of these companies. I will. Remember they don't have to do it at all.

This program has its place. For a very narrow specialised use.
Most of us do not need it.
We do not have 10,000 new computers to set up, install OS, patches, etc... before selling them.

It is not meant for full backup of single PC.
Acronis or similar software does that.

It is not meant for transferring contents of one PC to another newer PC.
Laplink or similar does that.

Though it is a powerful software, for me it is useless because I do not need it.

Hey 38 and 40, if you do image backups of your hard drive, all the programs and the registry and Windows are all in the backup. This is what MANY backup systems do, and 99% of your installations will work afterward. No need to whine about "compatibility seems to have vanished". Paragon is my preference for WIN7, but GHOST and others are OK, fine for older Windows.

A very few programs do more than plant activations in your registry. If they read CPU serial or BIOS version of the motherboard or something, a hardware change may prevent those programs from surviving. But this is generally only in very sophisticated software, expensive stuff usually. Also, note that drive assignments can be different in a new hardware setup, interfering with path assignments for shortcuts and program locations.

And of course Windows itself can object to the new hardware... although it usually copes if you are in WIN7. Windows may ask to be re-activated after a significant hardware change.

I have visited this site for some time and i am quite pleased to see this Giveway offered once more. I originally took this offer back in 2007 and used it with my Vista machine. It worked flawlessly for me and was a great asset to my home systems. It has always been malware free and has not caused any direct or indirect problems on my system. Now again, I get to enjoy this program on Win 7 x64 without any adverse effects. This is a trusted program and I would recommend this to anyone. They do have a version that is for home users that is cheaper than the $99 price tag that they have listed here.

If you CLONE your hard drive in addition to BACKING IT UP, you will be able to return ALL the information on the HD, including the PROGRAMS.

Go to PARAGON and you will find an excellent CLONE program, and some of the 'net's best programs (free and paid).

Just be sure you clone often, because if you're not ALSO backing the HD up, and it gets a virus, etc., you're screwed when the HD crashes. The CLONE clones everything, including the virus, and it will simply put the virus back on the HD when you try to recover information using it. So, I keep the last 3 clones on my 2T back-up drive which gives me a chance to keep my programs the way they were BEFORE I allowed the virus to creep in.

I want to let Macs PC (Mike) know that I appreciate his post (currently #29) regarding "Developer bashing". There is NEVER a time when RUDENESS is to be tolerated. I am ABSOLUTELY AGAINST CENSORSHIP, but I make an exception when someone posts RANTS, being so RUDE to the developer here.

Mods, please consider taking a second look at the necessity to allow posts whose only purpose is to be RUDE to GOTD, the DEVELOPER, or another "MEMBER HERE".

I can only assume that your parents had no idea of what simple courtesy is, and therefore were unable to teach it to you. Now, how does it feel to have the RUDENESS returmed to you? SHAME ON YOU.

Hello Again Folks . . .

Comment by Corno @ No.19 = "I can’t help feeling that there is a noticable discrepancy between the description you give there and the enticing promises made at the developer’s homepage"

Hi Corno - Obviously I was giving a brief explaination. I've never pushed this software to it's limits as I do with other softwares - so I'm in o position to confirm or argue with comments made on the Almeza Website BUT I have no reason to doubt their word !

-------------------------

Comment by mylogon @ No. 20 = "In the short, use a good antivirus (NOT Norton, NOT McAfee – a good one) to determine what is or is not safe to run – not UAC"

Hi Mylogon - While your post is a somewhat overly negative towards Microsoft & I don't share your view of them . . . I DO AGREE about UAC - I ALWAYS DISSABLE IT !

I REPLACE Microsoft's UAC with the FREE PC TOOLS ThreatFire which can be downloaded FREE -
http://macs-pc.net/useful-links-pc-tools-threatfire.php
- Although the main program was last updated 3 years ago - it receives updates atleast once EVERY DAY !!!

-------------------------

Comment by catman42 @ No. 26 = "It seems to me the hype about this program is very misleading, making one believe that this program will copy an existing operating system to be reinstalled on another computer"

Hi catman42 - it appears that you have miss-understood "the hype" as you put it. This software can make a carbon copy of A FRESH INSTALL OF WINDOWS - AS IT HAPPENS - NOT AFTERWARDS !!! - It isn't copying WINDOWS - It's copyining the entire Install procedure & records all setup files & COMMANDS etc.

-------------------------

Comment by claus larsen @ No. 27 = "Hey… a program as Norton ghost, is that right?. I doron cant understand the point. If my computer goes down this software will help?"
Hi Claus - Evidently you've totally miss-understood the use of this software ! - Norton Ghost is a System Imaging software - THIS IS NOT - It creates a duplicate of any actions made by a user during install of a software - be-it a 5 Mb app / game etc. upto a FULL WINDOWS INSTALL - recording every move made by the user's Mouse & Keyboard - including serial No. entry etc. - meaning that the next time you need to perform the EXACT SAME ROUTINE - running the saved "Macro" will prevent any user intervention requirement !

-------------------------

Comment by leeq @ No. 31 = "I ran setup.exe and the installation files were placed in the folder c:\Multiset\. So is the program now registered? The readme says “To start the program run multiset.exe …”. Is that a second part of the installation process which also must be done today? I wasn’t planning on deploying any Windows desktops today. Can I wait to run multiset.exe when I am ready to start a Windows deployment?"

Hi Leeq - I CAN understand your confusion BUT IF you've run the Setup.exe & you now have a "Multiset" Folder - ( 17 Mb in size ) - then your software is correctly installed & is ready to be used at your convenience - No Rush ! :o)

-------------------------

Comment by Mr. Schmeckel @ No. = "When I go to reinstall Vista, how do I use this? Put this on a disk, insert that disk first, so it can start recording? Then, install Vista recovery disk? OR, put this on a thumb drive, insert the thumb drive first, then insert Vista recovery disk? I’m “cornfused”…"

Hi Mr. Schmeckel - since I don't want you to think I've ignored your question - I've brought it up BUT sadly since I've never used Multiset FROM DOS / BOOT - I'm afraid I have no advise for you - SORRY !

-------------------------

Comment by Keith @ No. 35 = "I’ve been to your site. No contact info? As for today’s software: no where NEAR worth the asking price – no wonder it’s free today….they can’t sell it!"

Hi Keith - Firstly - YOU CAN contact me via the e-mail me page - 24/7 - http://macs-pc.net/e-mail-links-lo-res.php - it's linked to on many pages across the site !
Secondly - I agree totally that this software is WAY OVERPRICED - NO QUESTION - take $400 off the total & it would still be EXPENSIVE !!!
Better yet is the fact that this $499 software we have here is the HOME LICENCE - which regular everyday home user can afford $500 ??? It's insane - I've not even bothered to convert it to UK Pounds Sterling - I know it would be conciderably cheeper but still way overpriced even then !
SORRY Almeza BUT those are the FACTS ! - We're in a recession & you're hoping for $500 - I don't care how much time it can save - no software can justify that price tag in an everyday market !!! An Enterprise edition for hundreds or thousands of machines MAYBE - NOT for SEVERAL - even for upto Half A Dozen & you want $500 NO CHANCE !

The idea of compatibility seems to have vanished from today’s society"

Hi Anne - There is a software that does EXACTLY THIS - It's from COMODO & it's called Time Machine - it's currently on hold awaiting the results of Microsofts own version - although it's hoped they'll get back to updating it sometime soon.

This software can be Mind-Blowingly AWESOME - WHY ?
When My Dad's Toshiba Equium Laptop crashed about 18 months ago - NOTHING about windows would repair the Boot sequence - No Safe Mode / return to Last Known God Starte - NOTHING - it just kept crashing during boot up & would not allow restoration of backups etc. - at the time he was still on the pre-instaled version of Vista & so didn't have my Dual Boot Windows to FallBack on !

Luckily I'd prviously installed COMODO Time Machine - I simply loaded it's Interface at Boot-Up - selected a previous day's restore point & within 30 SECONDS - I was back into Windows & everything was back to normal. In fact it was so quick - as I sat down to look at the laptop in it's dead state - my Dad was going out the front door to drive into town - Because Time Machine is part of the Boot-Up Sequence & doesn't have to do a Windows System Restore - I was IN WINDOWS before he'd even got the car off the driveway ! TRUE FACT !!!

BUT Time Machine can also be Mind-Numbingly ANNOYING - WHY ?
If it it goes wrong - IT GOES VERY WRONG - a friend of mine wanted his Time Machine updating - which meant un-installing the original first - BUT during the uninstall - it rolled his Windows & EVERYTHING ELSE BACK 3 MONTHS to when Time Machine had been installed. - he lost a fair amound of Photos & Documents etc. because of that !

Personally I LOVED IT BUT because of just how bad it could turn - I decided to stop running it until it was more stable. That was a year ago -it MAY be more solid now - I've not had a chance to try it out since - I'll probably try it soon on my Backup Laptop.

Please be aware that if you choose to run Time Machine on a Dual Boot system - It MUST be installed on BOTH WINDOWS instances even if the second is never used or it will LOCK YOUR SYSTEM on FIRST RUN !!!

-------------------------

Comment by Dan @ No. 39 = "OK, I installed it on C root drive. Was that wrong? Should I have said install to F (my thumb drive)"

Hi Dan - NO - that's NOT WRONG - It's portable - you can simply MOVE the "Multiset" Folder from the C:\ Root drive to your USB Memory stick & then run it from there ! - Job Done !!!
-------------------------
-------------------------
I hope this has been helpful for some of you :o)
Apologies for any Typos ...

Cheers for now & HAVE A GREAT DAY FOLKS !!

this can be very useful for a technical administrator but for most people it is useless. how many times do you need to install the exact same application on the exact similar machine? I have few computers each a different OS (xp and 7, x86 and x64). lets say I want to install a driver for my new purchased printer, on all computers, (same printer) but a) different drivers and b) different folders.

Almeza MultiSet Sounds Like a Great Tool...

...FOR THOSE WHO don't have a floppy drive on their PC and need to slip in 3rd party drivers at the F6 stage of a Windows installation. I once used nLite for that purpose, but nLite only supports XP (and below). THAT IS, I assume this software creates 'slipstream-type

HOWEVER...with A software of this nature, I prefer to read the product specs at the developer's website before installing...

AND UNFORTUNATELY, for the past two hours, every attempt to connect to the developer's site has failed, resulting in the infamous 'Unable to Connect to Network' message. I tried IE9, FF, and Chrome...same result each time.

I suppose the developer's website is unable to handle the extra traffic generated by GOTD today...but even so, it is disappointing to see a commercial software developer fail to develop a robust website that can handle heavy traffic...a certain lack of professionalism, what?

#8 Tom,

There is a good reason why you can not see the Multiset files. It is because the files are dispersed in C:drive.
Why so?
The primary use of this software is to install Windows OS on a new compuer, or reinstall Windows on a corrupted computer. On such computers, you will see only C:\ prompt. Here, it is easier to dump all
the files into the c:\ root and type the command multiset to start the reinstall process. If the multiset files are in a folder, accessing them from DOS prompt is much more difficult for a newbie.

However, if you wish to keep all the multiset files in a folder, you can change the destination. When you run the setup.exe file, the default destination offered is C:\
Just change it to, say, C:\multiset and press Enter key. The new folder will be created and all the files will be dumped there.

We need a program that will allow us to transfer all GOTD programs to a new computer. I have a new laptop and want to transfer my GOTD programs to it. Is there a way to do this? Does anyone know a program or how I can transfer My GOTD programs to my desktop and my new laptop? Thank You.

But, is there anyway I can make W7 CDs, so I can install W7 on my Vista computer?

I know this prog doesn't.

Installed fine in Vista 32bit. After deleting some files like the internet shortcuts (based on tips by previous posters), the Multiset folder was about 16 MB. Perhaps I might shave off a couple more MBs by deleting some of the .ini files in the Languages subfolder? I intend to keep the Multiset folder on a flash drive and use it when I upgrade to Win 7 or 8.

I have a question for the experienced users:
The Bootsect.exe and Starburn.dll files in the MultiSet folder are over 5 years old. Are these fairly standard files, or might their age affect their usability on newer Windows 7 systems?

This seems a rather basic program compared to free alternatives, such as RT Se7en Lite. Last week I used it to install a copy of Windows 7 on my fresh solid-state drive. You can "slipstream" service pack 1, language packs and drivers into the .iso image, which you can then use to create a bootable usb. It doesn't fully automatically install operating systems but it can skip certain phases such as serial number input,System Assesment Tool, and some queries, greatly speeding up the process nonetheless.

You may also permanently remove certain Windows programs, such as preinstalled games (Purple Place, anyone?), features intended for tablet-pc or speech recognition. That's close to 1GB hard-drive space. Most people probably don't need those or may be fooled to think that you can actually delete them by just unchecking them on the Windows Features list.

Very cool tool today!!

Great for creating a CD/DVD for the automatic installation of WINDOWS on any PC, by installing it above the current version or reinstalling it completely from scratch.

But, once Windows is installed in your machine, with this cool app you can even create a CD/DVD that will automatically install any set of software on multiple PC even via a LAN, such as:

- service packs + drivers
- codecs, audio & media players, service tools etc...

It also has a built-in utility called “Create bootable USB drive” designed to transfer your DVD based OS install disk (ie Windows7 Ultimate) on a USB stick.

Definitely a keeper and a time saving tool.

As FREEWARE ALTERNATIVES to do such a job, you can of course use FREE DISK IMAGING SOFTWARE such as MACRIUM REFLECT or better yet PARAGON BACKUP & RECOVERY 2012:

http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx
http://www.paragon-software.com/home/br-free/features.html

See also this great article by (missing) Ashraf where he made an in-depth comparison of the best image backup software available on the market right now:

Hello Again . . .
Comment by Bapegual @ No.18 = "There are some potential issues which I see: WHAT IF the screen size & resolution of the target is different from the one where the macro was recorded ?! WHAT IF the OS of the target is different ..xp, vista, or seven don’t have the same sequential steps when installing a program ?! WHAT IF I have recorded a macro which installs for example CCleaner or Notepad++, and then these programs are updated ..does the macro continue to use the old exe file ? How does Almeza Multiset cope with these kind of practical issues ? Question to the editor of course."
Hello Bapegual - All GOOD POINTS - & the truth is - unless ALL windows - Dialogue Boxes etc. are in the EXACT SAME Locations - ( or close enough for Button Hits by Mouse Pointer ) - then the Macros created WILL FAIL - You'll see the mouse flying around the screen frantically trying to hit windows or dialogues that don't exist because they never got opened !
BUT - that said - on a FRESH INSTALL - ie Windows - you can guarantee that all Boxes / Screen Resolutions etc. WILL BE THE SAME - so on that reguard - it's perfect !
ONCE a Macro has been created . . . IF you then subsequently update your softwares etc. - THESE UPDATES WILL BE MISSING FROM THE MACRO - the only way I can think of around this would be to run 'Revo Uninstaller' to remove the existing version COMPLETELY then start a NEW MACRO - Install the NEW VERSION of the Software THEN STOP THE MACRO !
It may seem strange to uninstall completely first BUT some Update Installers will only run an minimal update on seeing the existing software - replacing only the updated files &/or Registry Entries - NOT A FULL INSTALL !

This would be USELESS as a fresh install !!!

Comment by mylogon @ No.18 = "Would be nice if they knew how to build a proper installation routine. GOTD, be a little more selective and not let companies that do not know what they are doing to use your service. It cheapens what you do to have morons trying top peddle their garbage. I mean really – not install in the Program Files directory! Not loading into the Start Menu? What are we, in the 1980′s again?"

WHY is the default setting on this site - Be RUDE about the publisher if you don't get OR not happy with what they're doing ?
IT is possible to be critical of something WITHOUT resorting to blatant rudeness ! - While I accept that defaulting the C:\ Root is annoying - ( I install it to Programs Drive] E:\System Tools\System Utilities\MultiSet ) - The company can't know where we all want to put it & while Program Files is more usual . . .

THIS IS A PORTABLE PROGRAM - it can go ANYWHERE - on ANY DRIVE - even NETWORK DRIVES ! - ( I've Tested it ) -

I don't like companies defaulting to C:\ Root either - on my XP Machines C:\ is a 100 Mb Boot Data only drive & XP Windows drive is D:\ - so trust me - it annoys me too - BUT I'm NEVER RUDE about them - BESIDES - YOU CAN CHANGE THE LOCATION - it's NOT LOCKED !!! How many seconds did it take to change & how many minutes did it take to complain ?

There's NO Start Menu Icon etc. because IT'S PORTABLE - If they'd stuck a Start Menu Icon in - defaulted to C:\ Root & you installed to C:\Program Files\ you would still be complaining !!!
Anyone who has read my posts over the years will be well aware that I don't like GOTD users being picked on by others BUT I don't like users treating software publisher unfairly either ! IF Almeza or any other company - ( including those NOT YET on here ) - were to take offence at your rude comments & refuse to publish here in future - TENS OF THOUSANDS OF USERS would be affected - deprived of some excellent FREE TO US - ( sometimes EXPENSIVE - like today ) - softwares. THAT AIN'T RIGHT !!!

I'm NOT saying Don't criticize or complain - I've done both on here - ie spammers / SHILLS - ( fake positive comments designed to promote ) - to name only two - BUT do it constructively the companies expect some BAD feedback as well as good - that's how improvements are made - but to call a company "morons trying top peddle their garbage" is far from helpful ! It may help you feel better but how does it help the companies who see it - expecting to take GOTD seriously as a buisness investment ?

I say it's comments like yours that cheapen Giveaway Of The Day - they certainly don't strengthen it !

@ #23. Thank you for your observations. If a program's uninstaller is so poorly coded that it doesn't remove traces from the C: and the registry, then I would not have particularly high hopes from the program.

That said, I think of this program as a glorified macro recorder. Other users report that it is portable, which is always a plus. So, worth keeping in the arsenal, should I ever need a portable macro recording and playback utility.

Hey... a program as Norton ghost, is that right?.
I doron cant understand the point. If my computer goes down this software will help?. I cant sit evry day copy my reg.keys and visa versa and where shall I put all that information, in the end it must fullfill a lot of GB. Or do I miss the green line and talk in west while others talk in east.?.

It seems to me the hype about this program is very misleading, making one believe that this program will copy an existing operating system to be reinstalled on another computer. Sorry GAOTD, thanks but no-thanks. But, I do thank you for the many great programs you have available here from time to time.

I already use nlite to create fully automated XP installations for VM (as ISO images) or for re-installation (on CD). I also create partition images much quicker to restore since they're between 2 and 4 GB. No need to record anything then.

But in some cases I have to undergo several cumbersome steps to install a software after the OS installation, or a software that is NOT installed (but I need to create the link manually). So, this product might be very useful. Thanks GOTD and Almeza.

#1 (devnullius): You could try vlite (works like nlite but for Vista/7), or Microsoft AIK (Automated Installation Disk, aka WAIK) if you haven't done that already. The version with number starting with 6001.xxx (dated 2008 ---there's an older version 6000.xxx) takes about 1.34 GB on a DVD. Everything is explained in the Windows Vista Service Pack 2 Deployment Guide.

#6 (and all those complaining about USB only): You should visit the product website. The answer is written there. Moreover, nobody will take you by the hand and do things in lieu of you. Geez!

UAC is the greatest thing to happen to Windows since Win95. They went overboard in Vista but Win7 implements it nicely. I am an IT professional and use and install software all the time and have never had to disable UAC on a production machine in at least 3 years.

While I understand the how and why this software needs UAC disabled (and it is up to each person of the benefit outweighs the risk) the attack of UAC in general is absurd. UAC is a great addition to the Windows OS- people who dislike it, even in the IT community, are a fringe minority. Don't think all of us feel that way.

Also installed before and never used. I'm not sure I could trust it, I'd rather do it my way.

For those keeping Multiset, you can delete the multiset_rus.chm if you're strictly using the English version. you can also delete the shortcuts and .txt files in the C:\Multiset folder...........

buy now, MultiSet, Almeza, fileid.diz, history.txt, license.txt, and readme.txt

The program does not appear in Programs and features so you nee to double-click on unins000.exe to remove it, or use Revo Uninstallers Forced uninstall.

The uninstaller leaves behind HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\.amltkey key with many values underneath it.

It also leaves behind the entire C:\Multiset directory.

Comment by Florin @ No.13 = "I think it is portable allready as many GOTD users requested today and at the previous versions. Today’s variant seems to be an installation folder that allready contains unninstall.exe+unninstall.dat, allthough these are useless because even if i runed the program (multiset.exe) it looks that it is not installed and if i clicked uninstall.exe nothing happens (except those 2 files disapear) because Windows wouldn’t uninstall it because it’s not in its list … Can someone tell IT IS REALLY PORTABLE??? or is cripled by mistake."

Hi Florin - I'm pleased to confirm that this version IS INDEED PORTABLE !!!

I ran the Setup on my
Sony Vaio Laptop to [Programs Drive] E:\System Tools\System Utilities\MultiSet
& then copied the MultiSet Folder to

[Programs Drive] E:\System Tools\System Utilities\MultiSet of My Main Toshiba Equium Laptop
& also
[Programs Drive] E:\System Tools\System Utilities\MultiSet on my Hi-Grade Backup Laptop

AND ALL WERE REGISTERED to "Giveaway Of The Day" as a "Home" Licence !!!

Sounds to me like it's just a massively overpriced macro recorder and only really useful if you are managing an office network with dozens of computers. and need to upgrade the operating systems on all of them.

The price really is a joke!

No thanks.

Kondoril,

Not with standing this poorly written software, no real computer user even allows UAC on, as it is cripples most software. Please look at what UAC it is supposed to do, and you will see that many, many simple programs will not run with it - even ones that come direct from Microsoft, say, chkdsk, defrag, etc.

So, do not blame the software for the UAC warnings - blame Microsoft for creating that piece of trash in the first place. BTW - when Word 2012 beta came out - it could not even run without UAC - just to show you how poor a job Microsoft does...

It should come with options (like a firewall) and not force you to make dozens of exception rules as they are difficult for the average user.

In the short, use a good antivirus (NOT Norton, NOT McAfee - a good one) to determine what is or is not safe to run - not UAC. They are updated all the time, and UAC is never.

Thanks for your above comments, Mike, but I can't help feeling that there is a noticable discrepancy between the description you give there and the enticing promises made at the developer's homepage http://www.almeza.com/

Would be nice if they knew how to build a proper installation routine.

GOTD, be a little more selective and not let companies that do not know what they are doing to use your service. It cheapens what you do to have morons trying top peddle their garbage. I mean really - not install in the Program Files directory! Not loading into the Start Menu? What are we, in the 1980's again?

#9 Mike, #10 MikeR,
thanks for your good points.
There are some potential issues which I see: WHAT IF the screen size & resolution of the target is different from the one where the macro was recorded ?! WHAT IF the OS of the target is different ..xp, vista, or seven don't have the same sequential steps when installing a program ?! WHAT IF I have recorded a macro which installs for example CCleaner or Notepad++, and then these programs are updated ..does the macro continue to use the old exe file ? How does Almeza Multiset cope with these kind of practical issues ? Question to the editor of course.

Ho, I forgot to say,

The size difference between the giveaway installation and the one from the home site one is because here the add 1 or 2 MB that verified the legibility of the installation, the date of installation mainly and to activate the software, that's all.

Some time 'Giveaway of the day' have a specific version compiled for the giveaway only (here and elsewhere to)this is not virus or anything like this.;)

Hi every one !

I think few ones are confused here, this is not a Windows installaltion disk, and this is not a Microsoft software!
It does not contain the installation of MS Windows (not XP nor Win7).

It is an installation helper so you have to supplies you own installation disk.
If you have a pre-install windows without the disk;

1- The web is full of Windows installation pack to download
2- There is many free program to find the key of the (legal) windows version install on your computer.

It is not a minus nor a PITA software, it is the pro version and it is a portable edititon, so it won't be install !
It will be decompress on the C: Hard disk by default, right at the root of it (the first thing you see when you open the disk fill).

This software is to help you to automaticaly install (or re-install) YOUR Windows on your(s) computer(s).

And as usual, please read the readme.txt in the zipped fill, it will avoid many (well known) questions to be repeated.

A software like this sounds nice, but I'd like to find one that can download all the updates for windows and place them on the disk, that way I won't have to redownload all 200 of them every time... Is this possible with this one?

It demands you to disable UAC... and many other issues that sound annoying and not safe...
I wonder...

This software was primarily designed for use with multiple computers -- as the developer has always made clear -- where the benefits of automation-by-playback multiply, the more computers there are. It has been generously offered several times before on GAOTD. Appreciated by some, less so by others, and noticeably misunderstood by many. So, to clarify:

It's a recording app. Which means: you have to perform actions for it to record.

It is not a disk imaging app. It does what it says it will do (well, the earlier version did in my case) and for those of a techie inclination or -- more feasibly -- those with many computers in the home, it's an effective time saver.

If, however, you have only one or two computers at home, then the amount of work / time involved in installation recording simply isn't worth it: imaging is infinitely quicker.

'Horses for courses' is an adage worth remembering when assessing any software; this particular horse's course isn't the average home nor was ever intended as such.

Hi Folks

This text was originally used on 18/10/10 – for v7.8.1 - BUT is fully relevant today ! There may be many who never saw it first time.
----------------------------------------------
This section is aimed at helping those who do NOT understand Multiset's Macro Recoding etc. - NOT to patronise those who do !
For those wondering what this software is for - whether they need it or not . . . - This program today RECORDS everything you want it to - in order to make the same job later AUTOMATIC.
For Example - You have to install a small Freeware program on 4 of your machines - do you want to type & Mouse click everything 4 times or just once ?
On the First computer - You start record - from now on - untill you stop it - it records EVERY MOVE you make - every where the mouse goes on the screen . . . even accidental bumps shooting the cursor of the screen 'coz you sneezed / dropped the mouse :o)
So It's recording . . .
You move to the setup file & left click to start . . .
You then move over & left click to accept the Ts & Cs . . .
Now you move over & left click to accept or type to change the Install Location & then left click to accept . . .
You now move over to confirm everything is correct . . .
The install completes & you move over to left click "Close"
YOU NOW STOP the recording & name it "Freeware Installer Auto-Run" etc. you get the picture.
Now copy your new Auto-running File to the other 3 machines & start it - now watch as the mouse whizzes around the screen on it's own left-clicking everything you did before & there you have 4 installs completed But you only had to do one of them !

Innitially it sounds like a really scarey concept until you break it down - then you realise exactly how simple it really is.
The same goes with Windows Installs - you start recording - then start the install. left click to accept the ususal stuff & then it copies the files . . . after a Re-Boot during the install - you have to enter the Serial No. & activation code / Locale etc. - it records them so if you should need to do a re-install after a crash or something - you don't even need to know the codes - because this little proggy will type them in - before your very eyes . . . I will warn you tho - IF you've never seen remote desktop etc. in action - it is really weird to watch you cursor flying around the screen & windows popping up & closing while you're not even at the computer - weird but Fun ! :o)

So there you have it !!!

I hope this has been helpful for some of you :o)

it's a cool trick, but i don't like it. where has "Almeza Multiset" been installed (if it has).

thanks for any help.
