What the hell? Why not FIX the problem, GAOTD?

Just to be clear when I suspected it to be a virus and double clicked it I had Returnil protection turned on which was offered once on this website but I have the full version ... this allows u to test anything safely and once u restart anything that u did while the protection is on is gone. I would never double click on a virus without taking measures ... ok the uninstall.exe i got it ... but why did it create a irsetup.exe google this file it is known as a trojan . to see where it is created however u have to enable see hidden files and uncheck the hide system folders in the folder options of explorer .

Wow, what pathetic comments. This is a resource extractor, not a file finder. The various resource extractors aren't all the same. This finds a wide range of embedded file types. Although the scanning is quick, some things are slow, such as reading directories/folders, and the window update during scanning. What 330 KB limit? It found resources larger than that. If you use WOT, SiteAdvisor, and even worse, if you can't figure out how to use them, or if you can't figure out how to use this (it works and saves/copies fine, and it doesn't contain any malware), then your parents should return you and request a refund. While past versions had some image-file corruption issues, I didn't notice any with this version.

#27 uninstall.exe is launched by an shortcut in the Allmedia grabber folder in the start menu tree... look at the properties of the shortcut:

"C:\Windows\AllMedia Grabber\uninstall.exe" "/U:C:\Program Files\AllMedia Grabber\Uninstall\uninstall.xml"

it takes uninstall.xml as a command line parameter to tell it what to do to remove the application. Of course you will get an error if you just double click on the uninstall.exe file as you have not given it the XML instruction file to tell it what to do. A litle knowledge is dangerous and in your case caused you to waste time and effort and panic thinking its a virus... simply upload the fle to virustotal.com and get a more informed opinion.

http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/302652c014c05f04acb93e7ed45f9f2f

And why oh why would you double-click on a file you suspect to be a virus? Craaaaazy!
I'm more inclined to believe that is a false positive due to overzealous heuristics rather than proper patern matching of real "virus" code. It's hardley an effective strategy to try and spread a worm, which is what is really suspected, as an unistall program because there is a very good probability it will never be executed by most users so would never propogate!

Sam Green @27, uninstall.exe does uninstall the program. Maybe your antivirus is preventing the program from launching because it thinks it is a virus.

Can come handy at times. Keeping it. It throws up an update window though, every time I start it. Is that the normal case? Any way to avoid it?

Wonder why when I installed this the computer locked up. On restart, clicking on the Allmedia Grabber 4.0 icon brings up Windows Explorer? Can't register the program since I never see the program. A thumbs down from me.
