I've had this software for a few days now. Just wanted to report that I put 600 books into 3 databases and it only took about 5 hours, total, that includes moving them from room to room and reshelving them.

<i>"Great software, but I doubt very many people here even read books."</i>

I downloaded this software very early and just made it back to skim a few comments. Is this for real?? Not reading books...ever??? Much <i>information</i>---factual and non---is available online, but there is such an additional layer of life, that informs and contributes to every perception, every action, every evolution of self...

I simply cannot imagine not just reading, e-books or bound, being alone with myself and whatever world is in there.

I missed this one. I really would have liked to have it! I have a book collection of over 3,000 print books and 1,000 ebooks. Found out about it a day late. :-(

It is a good program. Very useful for a book collecter like myself. However, it doesn't have a help file and doesn't explain the features accurately. It is also hard to try and enter a whole series at a time.

This is a wonderful piece of software and logical, too. By using the ISBN look-up feature (choosing carefully the source, for English the best is Amazon), you can automatically download information and cover art. The trick is to "Add Book", then plug in the ISBN number in the correct line and click on the little icon on the right of that line. If first you right click you can choose the source for the lookup.
So far I've put in 118 books in a couple hours; figure a minute a book. Try doing that by hand (and scanning the cover).

I am a teacher, and this program is very useful to me for keeping track of my classroom book collection. The paper/pencil method is somewhat cumbersome and I hope to retain more books this way at the end of the year.
On the downside, I have noticed slowing and freezing in the program. I am running XP Pro on a 2.O Ghz laptop with a duo core processor and a gig of RAM. Should be no problem right?

Thanks though. Positives from me.
