Hope this gets posted because I am late to the party - its 11:54 PST for me.

This software installed quickly and cleanly on Windows XP SP3.

As a fan of Format Factory, I was curious how well Total Video Converter would convert a 720p, 30 fps, HD file (avi).

Before my time runs out, here's what I discovered...

Converting a 50s (sec) 720p, 30 fps, HD video file:

Total Video Converter 5.0.12 - 2m 6s
Format Factory 2.30 - 1m 3s

Clearly FF 2.30 is TWICE as fast as Total Video Converter.

Next, I will check clarity, etc, but I only have 3 minutes before time expires.

Thanks for posting this IMPORTANT observation regarding Total Video Converter.

Wow do our experiences vary, it installed fine on my otherwise generally rotten HP Vista 32 and I have no problem with seeing everything and I use the 1280 x 800 resolution also, it worked fine although it was not that fast I'm going to test it on my TV now using the Samsung Bluray Player that does that and plays netflix etc on the TV. Looks good Thanks!

Aiseesoft Total Video Converter installed easily on Vista 32 bit Home Premium. It converted a mp4 file to avi in good time. However, Roxio MyDVDBasic rejected this avi file when I tried to make a dvd. Thus, I had to convert the mp4 file to avi a second time with Format Factory before making the dvd. I will stick with Format Factory as it has always been a reliable converter for me.

installs and activates fine on win xp sp3.

I just converted a dvd to divx with it, took over 3 hours, the video was clean, selected 2000kbps, but the audio was completely out of sync, and when it opens the output folder it crashes explorer, not sure why.

The font thing is a big deal to me, I feel it is up to the producer to make the window resizeable so that it can be used on any resolution. There is nothing I hate more than a window that can't be resized. I have a large monitor that makes it much easier for me to see and changing the resolution is not something I feel I should have to do for a program of any kind. Make the windows resizeable like most companies and then there is no problem!
