@340, Reese...

if installed and registered properly (as per the "readme.txt" & a-squared installation instructions) within the giveaway period, please try the following...

open a-squared...click on "Configuration"...click the "License" tab...verify username/password are correct...click on "Refresh licenses" and see if your license information shows...

if your information was registered on the giveaway day, you should be ok (if you still only show a 30 day trial, you can try clicking on “Convert coupon code” again, and enter the code from the "readme.txt" that was in the original giveaway zip file)...

please post in the forums if more help is needed...after the giveaway day, the comments aren't monitored much...

good luck...

I installed the software as instructed on my Vista PC. Imagine my surprise when, after I provided the activation license key, I was then told it was only a 30 day trial!

Great AntiMalware! Better than Kaspersky! MUCH easier to use, and so easy to deal with the scan results aswell! Also, found lots of malware - real malware - when any other AV told me my PC was clean, and Kaspersky 2009 beta gave me a list from which I didn't understand anything, and had no idea how to deal separately with each suspected malware. This is really a great soft! Thanks a million to the team behind it and of course the Giveaway of the Day team!

Great software program... I installed the anti-malware program without any problems and did my first scan. I found 2 minor problems and 1 bad one.

D:\System Volume Information\_restore{C04B9740-AB94-403D-A192-7EADF72D060A}\RP8\A0004202.exe

detected: Trojan-Downloader.Win32.SetupFactory.i

My friends also had this on their computers... I was wondering if anyone knows what this is and where it comes from... All I know is it's a trojan downloader, but I don't know how it go on my system...

I know it's past the download time, I am writing merely to report some problems that I found with this software in case others are experiencing the same problems and don't know why.

I was quite impressed with this download, and installed it not only on my computer, but my son's computer, my mother's computer, and recommended my friends to do the same. Suddenly I started getting mail errors. I use Yahoo Pops to collect my mail pop3 style from Yahoo, and since Yahoo is no stranger to problems - I didn't think much about it. Then I started noticing that quite a few of my favorite websites were unreachable, such as TV Guide, Tip-It, and many more. After suffering through these errors (not to mention that my Microsoft Trackball Explorer cratered shortly after the install of this software - no idea if it is related...) I decided it was time to see if A-Squared was maybe the problem. I un-installed it this morning, cleaned everything up and restarted my computer. Suddenly not only is my mail working without a hitch again - all the websites I could not reach for three days are suddenly reachable again!

If you are experiencing problems as I was - I would seriously consider un-installing A-Squared and see if your problems are suddenly 'fixed.'

Installing my next Giveaway of the Day, Starburn, I received 3 popups for the install program trying to connect to the Internet and installing drivers.

This was all legitimate behavior, but it was good to see the software on it's toes.

OK. I've used this for a while now, and noticed something "interesting".

The Deep Scan is horrendously slow. On a dual 2.33GHz with 4GB RAM, it was 50% done after 36 continuous hours. I only have 750,000 files on a 1/2 filled 320GB HDD.

The machine was HOT the whole time, and I stopped the scan for fear of doing permanent damage to the HDD or other components.

I'm sure it is a good scan, but the method it uses is prohibitively slow for me.

Thank you Katb for your kindness in helping me with this problem. Everything is now ok with the site.

Apparently it was hacked because i had not updated wordpress to the latest version and it was vulnerable to attack. Let this be a warning to others that use wordpress for blogging. Keep it updated and stay safe.

Many thanks to all that helped me on this.

For Joe - commenter# 292&293 in reference to my comment #268, Thank you very much sir. However, I noticed I too got sucked into the stupidity by not using spell check!!!! LOL, it must be contagious! Perhaps you will be happy to know that I did in fact "up" my meds. I will not try again to have a battle of the wits with unarmed people.
Have a great day!!
