i have tried this though it works it did not save as mp3 on my puta must have done something wrong but will give a chance other than that i will keep it as u never know when it may come in handy and it can download songs or videos clips

This is a good program register with the product code in the read me file. It is wonderful that I can download youtube content and save it to watch on my cell phone.

2. Use the website http://www.keepvid.com/ and enter the complete address of your movie from youtube and it will download it for you.

3. Last but not the least, my favourite, a sim­ple but pow­er­ful fire­fox exten­stion to down­load any kind of mul­ti­me­dia stuff from web — mp3, mp4, youtube, met­cafe, google video. The list is end­less. You name it and it will down­load from that website.

Using Down­load­Helper, you can eas­ily save videos from most of the pop­u­lar video sites.

I need to download or capture video from news web sites from time to time, these programs don't seem able to do that. Can anyone suggest a program to do that with?

Very nice program. works fine. you can convert any video to mp3 format & very good quality. it has youtube crawler inside. BUT, no undo & redo button. also we can't set automatic download to favorite folder (save as), & need to change save folder each time before download. i am handsome lazy boy and i always want automatic functions. hehe..

When I want to download a song or video just goto the video you want like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtqjmuUaYXA and just add the word "kick" beofre youtube.com. So like this http://www.kickyoutube.com/watch?v=UtqjmuUaYXA. Then, a red bar will appear on the kickyoutube page, select your format and hit the green GO button on the far right. Wait for it to process then right click the button again and "save as"!!

I found a new method to rip youtube, no installation, no plugins, just press 1-2-Enter on your keyboard!

1. Go to the address bar at the top of your browser which you are watching YouTube video.
2. Insert "12" between the domain "youtube" and ".com".
3. Press the Enter key on your keyboard, wait a moment the download link will be displayed at the top of your previous YouTube video page.

Does nothing to improve quality. I, too, don't understand why people would use this one, even if it is free, let alone pay for it.

I will continue to hang on to Ashampoo Clip Finder HD in which you can get a Free Key for and can be used over and over again. Unlike this Software it can Download Music Videos as well as other Videos from Multi Sources not just YouTube. @ #14. It's not like we want to bring GAOTD down. They Post great Content from time to time. However if something is not of our liking or we have a problem with the Software on our Systems then that's just what it is. I'd still prefer using ImTOO YouTube Video Converter. It lets me download YouTube (HD) videos and convert them to sorts of video/audio formats (i.e. iPod MPEG-4 format). I have been using it to download YouTube videos for my iPod nano. It works fantastic.

The reason I like GAOTD is becuase it allows you to try new software without breaking copyright. This software will be used to break those laws which means there is less money in the system for up and coming bands to make it.

This offer seemed familiar, but that might be because there's been so many YouTube downloaders offered.

The greatest strength of this software is the simplicity it provides for downloading music from YouTube. The software also allows the downloading of video files, so it's an audio and video downloader.

The most obvious weakness for this software is the lack of it's ability to handle non YouTube sites. While there are many YouTube downloaders, there's much less in the way of downloaders for Veoh and the like. Like too many programs, it's just too specific and I don't want to be filling up my harddrive with single-purpose tools.

And when looking at it's "Music Browser" section, I got a message from Youtube about it phasing out support for the browser, so that part of the software may become useless soon.

My preferred way to record any audio from the Internet is to use something like Audacity (or one of the audio packages previously offered) and set the input to the computer's mixer. Although this will also catch computer beeps so you need to turn off any sound themes you may have.

Overall, it's a good package for handling YouTube. It could be better if it handled other sites as well.

It should also be pointed out that the use of this software may violate copyright laws, although I doubt that would stop anyone.

Check Ashampoo HD Clip Finder ( Free ware). you can do multiple search on different websites, download in mp4 format, clear videos.

Don't see a whole lot of point to this one. Youtube videos have pretty crappy sound - the best you're going to get is about the equivalent of an MP3 encoded at 64 kbps.

You'd have to be nuts to pay thirty bucks for this software. I don't even want it for free.

Dwhelper a Free Firefox extension, http://www.downloadhelper.net/ works pretty good and no registration required. It works on most sites any kind of video is used. It will download the videos onto a FLV format.

#10 Many of us are not aware of the free alternatives and when they are listed this is an additional benefit of GOTD. You're looking the gift horse in the mouth.

There are TOO MANY "FREE" youtube downloaders on the web to keep you busy for the weekend. Most are better than this and ALL are free.

I just tried Free YouTube Download from dvdvideosoft.com as mentioned above and I love it so far. It even downloaded the HD version in perfect quality. I was going to try this offer of the day but now I don't need to. I also was going to pay for a service that is normally free but gives higher quality if you subscribe... now that I got the program from dvdvideosoft I don't have to subscribe. =)

Update to my previous comment (in moderation) about the JavaScript bookmark and IE7+, it's partly the security level and partly Protected Mode (Vista and higher with UAC) which blocks the download, you have to leave Protected Mode off for Trusted Sites, which decreases security.

#2, Roger, in the first place, YouTube Music Downloader can also convert, not just download. Second, your script doesn't work because someplace along the way some characters got converted. Third, you should just link the original source, Download YouTube Videos as MP4 Files, which contains a useable link as well as lots of additional information. Fourth, it won't work with newer versions of IE using default security settings. To work around, you have to add YouTube to the Trusted Sites list with no higher than Medium security (or use Custom level to allow the downloads), and "Require server verification" must be unchecked when you add it (you can re-check it afterwards).

I will state the obvious.....gosh the sound is really horrible to begin with on these flv files. If you want to record good sounding music, goto Grooveshark.com, play your song, and record it with any audio program you got. Audacity being one. Is a waste to extract audio from youtube!

The last time one of these was offered someone here advised we try keepvid dot com (thank you). There's nothing to install, and no registration required; just paste the URL of the video you want into the keepvid web page and you can dl from youtube, daily motion, yahoo, etc., in low- or high-def., very quickly, and free.

That's the only reason I'm not trying this offering.

It's a good program, works fine in Vista and the converted files are of high quality. I'm using Internet Download Manager which is already capable to download files from YouTube but it can't convert. This is all in one tool (download+convert) with high quality results, thank you GOTD!

p.s. you can download from YouTube with freeware but you will need a separate converter.

Not 100% sure about the converting ... however, I believe it's possible right in Windows (for those that are windows users).

There are too many of these out there and one thqat is for youtube alone is a bit silly. There are many free and pay for that will do so much more and give you more choices.

Utter rubbish! Took 3 attempts at trying to register before it worked. When you click on the downloading symbol to check on progress the sound cuts out. And then when downloading is complete the finished video has no sound. I'm sure there are better downloaders out there. Don't waste your time with this one.
