Compared to other programs of this type, this one is by far one of the weakest. I'm going to stick with Advanced SystemCare Pro and CCleaner Free which do a much better job (and price combined is cheaper than this)

Synei looks similar to AdvSysCare. Works good on Win7 64bit but auto chooses things "it disabled 2 startups without asking me". I don't like that. Ask before like a gentleman ask a lady, do you want to dance. Don't just grab and go.

If you watched the tutorial it would have said to watch what you delete. It does however say that you should click on scan with Analyse. Then if all was okay you click Scan with clean. Can't remember exactly what it said but yeah.

Why does it say Windows 8 when I am Windows 10? Besides I have CCleaner and Malwarebytes and I do my own History and Cookies clean. I didn't think this made my computer any faster.

It says 1 click to optimise your computer and make it perform much better.
Suppose the user wants to return to his computer to its previous "lousy & under-performing" state. Is there a button in this software to UNDO all of the actions that it did?
Is this a 1-way street? Once you made the 1 click changes, there is no return?
Will a Windows System Restore be able to UNDO all of the 1-click changes made by this software?

Installed and ran fine on Windows 10. I set it to deep clean and moderate(default)optimize. I unticked defrag and spyware check as I have specialized programs for that and it would take too long. First it set a restore point, then went thru its paces. It found 700 MB of junk, 112 registry errors, 12 system settings needing optimization, and two startup items to delay. After it finished cleaning/optimizing I rebooted my computer, and all was well. Seems like a solid utility to me. I will keep it. Thank you Synei and GOTD.

I like Iolo's System Mechanics the best for this type of software. Sure you have to pay for it, but it works with Windows 10, has more utilities, and is consistently updated. Remember, "You get what you pay for".

First off anyone who thinks Windows 10 is spying on them is a paranoid. That said, nothing is compatible with windows 10 because it's only been out for two months! Anything that is compatible with windows 8/8.1 works on a windows 10 machine. So RELAX!

The following article appeared in the September edition of WiFiHiFi magazine:

WINDOWS 10

It would take more than one article to do justice to the privacy violations in Windows 10. How-To Geek has a Web page listing 30 different ways that the new OS leaks users' data back to Microsoft. The list ends with the disclaimer that it is undoubtedly incomplete.

European Digital Rights (EDRi) points out that upon installing the 'free' Windows 10 upgrade, users agree to 45 pages of terms and conditions. These give Microsoft the right to use their personal data, directly or in conjunction with affiliates, to "personalize" user experiences and to help make ads "more relevant."

Advertising "opportunities" abound in Windows 10, including promotion of new apps in the Start Menu and Lock Screen, and sponsored responses in Cortana. Even Microsoft's Solitaire Collection now includes huge pop-up ads that cost $1.50 per month to disable.

Ads are 'personalized' by extensive collection of user data. The Cortana voice assistant keeps a database of user activities, contacts, search history, personal calendar, location data and more. This information is shared with Microsoft's new Edge browser, which in turn shares browsing history back to Cortana. Local searches initiated from the Start menu are sent to Microsoft, and return results from Bing and the Windows Store.

Continuous Web browsing analysis is performed by Microsoft "on trillions of URLs crawled in conjunction with Bing." Ostensibly, this is to improve the compatibility of Microsoft's Web browsers. A new 'telemetry' system sends diagnostic and usage data to Microsoft, and can only be disabled in the Enterprise edition of Windows 10.

Security features like Windows Defender send Microsoft "info about potential security problems/' and even samples of software that are suspected of being malicious. SmartScreen checks any application downloaded from the Internet against Microsoft's database of suspect software.

Windows 10 even creates a unique ID for each user, which can be used by app developers and advertising networks to assist in tracking and profiling.
Some of these privacy violations can be disabled, though settings are scattered in various places, including Websites outside Windows 10 itself. Permanently disabling all data collection is probably impossible. Add the new 'Windows as a Service7 approach (i.e. mandatory updates), and Microsoft has essentially turned the personal computer into a connected appliance, with users monetized by collection of their personal data.

Like Facebook, Windows 10 is 'free' because its users are not the customers -they're the product.

This program downloaded, but refuses to install on a Windows XP Professional system, although the system meets all stated requirements. The program extracts and checks availability with GAOTD then nothing further happens. No matter how long I wait, the installation does not proceed. When I try to delete the extracted files I cannot, as they are in use, according to the system window. I had to restart to delete them, as the task manager said they were not running.

This problem has arisen several times recently. If companies no longer wish to provide programs for Windows XP, why do they say that their programs will work on that system, especially as the GiveAway ones carry no company supplied assistance?

I have been away on business, so I know it is near the end of this offer, but I, too, have tried to install it on my XP desktop (I have a similar program already on my laptop) and had the same result - availability reuest went through, then nothing else happened.

Almost no companies would give a portable software as it would permit the user to use/transfer it on multiple computers which is not what they are looking for, but advertisement for their softwares. However there have been exceptionally good companies who did.

Reply   |   Comment by Sandra  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+8)

@SoftwareJunkie: Have you read those cnet reviews? I can safely bet they are fakes - all (or nearly all) positive ones. Enough to check the activity of their authors. They all are either one-time or (at most) one-brand reviewers.

Simple installation and registration, opens up to a simple interface with various function on it.

A few quick tests and then decided to look at the defragmentation of my hard drive which I know is in good condition.
Much to my surprise it informally it could not scan an XP system!
Uninstalled immediately.

Reply   |   Comment by xenox  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-8)

@krypteller and those who voted down Xenox question:
You really ought to read carefully. Xenox raised a valid question. What do we get here: Synei System Utilities Free (which is free anyway) or Synei System Utilities Premiere? Since there's no mention of Premiere edition in the description, one can assume that we have a freeware as a giveaway today.

Reply   |   Comment by Arek  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+20)

It's a 1-year Premiere license, expiration will be 09-12-2015, it will downgrade to the free version then.

Reply   |   Comment by B.A.D.  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+2)

I can't remember (in the 7 years I visited GOTD almost every day) that GOTD gave away something that is normally free. So no, I don't assume that this one is free. More likely the giveaway can't be mentioned Premiere because the Premiere version specifically mentions "Premiere email support" as a bonus from the free version..
http://www.synei.com/items/products/system-utilities
But GOTD's never offer free technical support...

B.t.w. I did install the GOTD but I found the software to be too unstable to try any of the functions, including the bonus "Premiere" functions.

Reply   |   Comment by Rasta  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

If you were to check what Karl wrote about it the last time it was given way, you will see the giveaway is the premiere version.

Reply   |   Comment by Jimmy  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-19)

@Jimmy

Agree, a good point, but then again all versions back to XP are. Most people have their workflow allowing them no alternatives because of lack of software available for Linux or Mac, so, they use Windows.

I tried many times WINE on Linux and sometimes it works and at best with bad performance resulting back to dual boot etc... but you probably know that Yoyo Effect already.

In all fairness, what exactly do you suggest as best alternative?

Reply   |   Comment by xenox  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+5)

Leslie - I have Win 10 and just installed it and it worked fine.

Jimmy - As long as you know what you're doing, you can disable what you call 'spyware'. You do have options when you install Win 10.

@xenox: I know there is no alternative to windows and my comment was not against windows. Only against 10 - I stay by 7 so long as I can. The missing MediaCenter is for me reason enough to do it so! But there are a lot of reasons more...

Reply   |   Comment by Jimmy  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+10)

To Miss Pita,
The changes you think you are doing in win 10 are just for your own imaginary peace of mind. The check boxes in win 10 are just that, decorative wish list. The background hard spying is integrated into the operating system and unless you know how to erase those coding line, your perception of privacy is just that an illusion.

Wow, plan to see the MS fan boys here. Maybe some of US had a chance to install/use and get rid of the preview version which has the SAME functions and abilities as your normal home user. So, unless you had a chance to use it on 8.1 and back, don't slam it because it won't run on your precision windows 10 system. The latest isn't always the greatest, as MANY found out with 8.0 and 1. A brand of tire isn't made for my car, doesn't mean I'm going to trash them because of it.
