Same problem for me. I uninstalled the version offered last year (which worked fine) for updating with this one this one which worked 2 days...

It is an opportunity to say how it is useful to propose or to compare with free alternative in commments. Thank you Rick # 32: winFF is ok .

I am another who downloaded the program and had it work beautifully on the day of the download - now on April 13th it is saying it is an unregistered version. I think that the company has done very poorly in using GAOTD like this. Unhappy with programmers, happy with GAOTD. If possible, would appreciate opportunity to have registered version as is usual on GAOTD programs. Thanks for opportunity but if not given as registered version then not happy with product.

really a superb and useful software but it requires xp professional cd with proplus.msi file for installation which many may fail to insert(me to )so it worked only for one day and stopped. please give the software one more time without frills.

#95 Nope, wife downloaded from GAOTD. We've downloaded from GAOTD before. This is the first time we've ever had a problem. After the download, it was registered, saying 'MP3 Converter,' only just as post 57 described.

Two days later, it was MP3 Converter 'unregistered.' My wife, it turns out, liked it so much she bought it and is happily using it.

Meanwhile I figured out that Advanced Audio Recorder un-registers Reezaa and Cool Record Edit Pro. Is there a way to get Reezaa back??
Multiple users where complaining about Advanced Audio Recorder destroying other GOTD software.

It worked great after I downloaded it from GAOTD.. However, 2 days later it now says it's unregistered and will only convert 1/2 of the file. Same as the above mentioned. Post #57 doesn't appear to be correct :(

Great program, but it reverted back to shareware version after 2 days. I downloaded from GAOTD link, unzipped and launched install file. It verified the file with the GAOTD server for activation and proceeded to install. At completion, the "activation successful" message appeared.

It was great using the MP3 converter and finding such an easy program to use. Used program on 4/10 and it again worked fine. Tried to use again today 4/11 and get the notice "Before Registration, MP3 Converter will only convert 50% music. Register Now? Top left corner show MP3 Converter (Unregistered).

It looks like about 16 people or more are now experiencing the same situation of the software unregistering itself. Is there any solution from GAOTD to resolve the registering problem? It's still a great program and GAOTD a great site for sharing with us. Thanks!

I registered mine on the day offered (Apr 9). Activated fine, and I used it to convert a bunch of files from flac to mp3. Today it only converts half of each file and says it is not registered. How can it loose its registration?????

"it said it was registered & it only converts half" Did it say it is unregistered now or could you just have a conversionproblem?

Chuck B #92:
"and the key worked fine & it was unregistered" There was no key. Could you perhapse have downloaded the trailversion from reezaa.com?

I downloaded this give away & it worked great for one day. Next time I went to use it, I was told it was a trial version and I had to buy & register it. Is this the way a 'giveawayoftheday' is supposed to work?

Of course there was no chance of a reinstall a day later.

Disappointed in Toronto.

If I click NOW on the help icon, and then register this is what I get:

" Click here to register MP3 Converter and get a support priority.
Or you can Register MP3 Converter from our website: http://www.mp3-converter.info "

I could not find any information of if it registered properly.
It's a shareware ?

Good program, though half of the program is pointless, since if you're converting any lossy audio format (mp3, ogg, aac) to a lossless audio format (wav, flac etc) then it won't sound any better...

To #19:

I've used "Midi to MP3", which was available here a little while ago, and it worked fine. There is also, at SourceForge, "Timidity", which converts Midi to WAV; I guess you could then convert WAV to MP3 if that's the end result you want.

As #34 says, MP3 to Midi is a whole 'nother bucket of worms.

MP3 Converter simplifies what other freebie apps can do.

I converted a vob file from 5.1 dvd audio to 5.1 wav audio, for manipulation in Audacity.. and bounced that to a stereo wav file.

MP3 Converter easily chose the file, starting point and duration.. and ripped to hard drive.

With FormatFactory, I couldn't figure out how to choose the start and duration.. and was forced to rip the entire vob to a 4gig+ wav file, that Audacity could not handle, because of the file size.

I tried MediaCoder Audio Edition, which is a complicated handfull, but was able to get the same basic results as MP3 Converter.. with a lot more hassle in terms of setup and ripping.

So, yeah.. there's free alternatives.. but, for the no hassle factor, I'd recommend MP3 Converter.

As usual, a flawless download and install on my Vista 32-bit system. I like the look and feel of this app just a bit better than FormatFactory... but then again this is only an audio converter whereas FF is the full package. As an audio converter it couldn't be more simple to work with. The drop-downs on the right side put everything in easy range without having to jump in and out of a menu bar. The resulting output from a few generic .wma and .flv conversions had very good quality and switch time was very quick. I think I'll keep this one as a gap filler...since my only other "free" converter is FormatFactory.

If anyone is interested...the tags on the .wma files I converted were absent after the switch. Anyone reformatting a large library may find this a definite no-no.

I don't see anything that says it's NOT registered so I assume that it is. As for myself...it's a keeper based on very good output quality and better than average conversion time. Oh...and it's free...what a bargain! Thanks ya'll!

Sweet program, Reezaa!. You've Improved interface since last version given away here. But I hope you don't add too many more bells & whistles to trash up interface. If last version was a bit spartan, maybe now you have hit the sweet spot of ideal interface. This is the "KISS" principle well applied! ("Keep It Simple Stupid" - a compliment, not an insult!)
Now, you just need to ramp up your marketing to cash in on your good work!

I found this formater useless, I have used format factory by http://www.formatoz.com/ for some time now. It is by far the best audio and video convertor. Best of all its free all the time not just on one day. While GAOTH has had some good bad and ugly software this is just not worthy of a download and for $29 they must be kidding

I "discovered" Giveaway of the Day and Reezaa MP3 Converter today.

I find Reezaa MP3 Converter to be suspicious, noting the text in the EULA that the GAOD version "contains a subset of the features of the registered version." I will be deleting Reezaa MP3 Converter, a suspicious waste of 14 MB of disk space, which stalled for over a minute after I tried to submit a similar reaction via the Feedback link at the bottom of the application, forcing me to terminate the application out of suspicion.

As the saying goes, "there is a price for everything," and the free, open-source software I use with Debian GNU/Linux (and other GNU software for Windows) does much more than Reezaa MP3 Converter, is stable and trustworthy, and -- not to leave out aesthethics -- does not shove an ugly, dark green interface upon me. (Why didn't Reezaa just make every single element of the Reezaa MP3 Converter GUI green? There are few elements left that are not green!)

I'll stay with GNU's free, open-source software (and already planned to replace Vista with Debian GNU/Linux 5.0 anyway).

I am sorry, GAOD, but I am suspicious of your program; I do not like close, "binary blobs," and I don't appreciate "teaseware," especially in 14-MB chunks.

Sincerely,

David

Does NOT convert FLAC to MP3 regardless of what the program says. It shows that it is working but it does nothing. Will I trust it to do anything else after this fail? Decidedly not.

I used this program to convert a long list of accumulated .ra, and .ram (Realplayer) files after the previous version was offered. Reezaa worked very well and I was completely satisfied with its ease of use and sound quality. A rather simple program that does just waht it claims it will do. Well worth the download! :-)

I'm very much against transcoding with lossless formats but was intrigued by the seemingly large functionality of this offering. It is small and works quickly enough, but the lack of VBR output and the complete loss of filenames is unacceptable. It's nice to see software that recognizes FLAC out of the box, but that's not enough to overcome the headache of simple numeric output for file names.

Works cleaner and faster than some of my other converters. It also worked on flv (youtube) videos, where my old standby Quickconverter, couldn't (and that's the latest version of Quickconverter too). I think I am going to be using this one alot from here on...

As noted elsewhere, default installation is to C:\ and not C:\program files, like most programs do. Not very important, but if you like to keep your hard drive neat and organized you might want to change that path during installation.

Like Ashraf #7 stated, "unable to find any information if it is registered properly" this is an issue: many people worried about registration-status (#3, 13, 14, 26, 28, 42, 49).

#52 "gpc111" is right about this, the difference between the trial version and the GAotD-version can be seen in the upper left corner, in the windowcaption: if it reads "MP3 Converter" it is registered; if it reads "MP3 Converter (Unregistered)" it is not.

In fact you will be unable to have an unregistered version at all when you install the GAotD-version. It will always be registered.
This is because the GAotD-version is a special tailored version:
There are differences in the main executable and a dll-file.

So don't worry, when downloaded from GAotD, you can only have a registered installation.
