Very happy with this app. Was having trouble with my iphone locking up when I took a picture and tried to view it from the camera, phone would lock up every time. After cleaning with Macgo I no longer have this problem.

Downloaded and installed with no issues for Win 7 Hone Premium. Was fast and got rid of over 500mb of junk. However, would like to see instructions to figure out just what it's doing. when you click on the files, nothing happens yet you can click on them (the highlight color changes). If you can't do anything with them, should not be able to look like you can. I'll add this to the suggestion form atop. Thanks again, GOTD! :D

To KAHSR(Question 29)
I'd like to explain to you that Macgo iPhone cleaner is designed to remove all junks files on your iOS device which need you connect your iPhone with your Mac or PC. And iTunes is a must tool to connect each other. You can try it when you use iOS devices. Thanks!

I downloaded this software, as it sounds quite interesting. But after successful installation I’m unable to run the app. When I click on its desktop icon, a window with an iTunes download button opens. I downloaded iTunes 3-times, but I don’t know why the same window prompts whenever I try to run this tool….Can somebody help me in this??? I want to try this GAOTD.

Installed and used on Windows 8.1. Initially was a flop until I went back to iTunes and did a new sync at which point the program picked up on the change and started scanning.

Total scanning and garbage disposal took roughly 5 minutes on my Touch 32GB and slightly less on my Mini 16GB.

Definitely work a look!

I have to be honest and say that this is really practical iPhone gadget I have ever owned!!!..and this is coming free from GOTD!!..the features on the iPhone Cleaner is not that much overall but actually every is necessary!!..I mean it's not perfect as I did spend some time to make it recognize my iPhone 5s, it went all right the following time...When scan finished, I saw so much junks my apps had ever created and I began to figure out that my iPhone could have been cleaned up before. Finally, it comes ture.

Easy install on a Win 7 64 Pro desktop. The program recognized my 128 gb 6 Plus immediately. It identified 589.2 Mb and 9015 files in 4:28. I said to "Clean" it. It ran the process in 1:54. In the phone settings for Usage before the clean up, I had 52.9 mb used/61.2 mb free. After the scan, it showed 52.4 mb used/61.8 mb free. I've only had the phone for about 2 weeks and am still in the process of "loading it up" so I was surprised at how many loose files this little program found and removed. Thank you GOTD and Macgo!

Every time I download the program I get the message “The setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program.” I’ve downloaded it several times, unzipped it, even ran as administrator. Says “successfully installed” but program is nowhere to be found. Running windows 8.1 on a toshiba p55t, kaspersky running. Anyone have any suggestions? Had same problem with Easy audio mixer–although it seems THAT program installed–but won’t run. Starting to hate windows 8.

Installs under windows 8.1 X64, but won't run without giving Exception error [Error 127]. It gives a page of errors and a request to send exception information, but no way to send or copy the information. Uninstalled, and reinstalled multiple times with the same error. It is the first program on this site to give me this problem. I guess I will have to give it a thumbs down for now.

I installed on a Win 7 64 bit system with no issues.

I successfully cleaned an iPhone 4s and iPhone Air.

It scanned an Ipad 1 and began to clean and hung at 31% on a Jumboline 2 app.

I just closed it and shut it down.

Not sure what else to do nor whether to buy it for 9.95 to get support.

i have an old iphone 4, 8gb, just like patrick, #10 above, with ios 5.1.1. this is an old ios. i had wondered if it would even work on iphone 4, so i'm glad patrick said it did on his. i've downloaded other apps here that wouldn't work on the older ios, but it did its thing.

because everyone was saying it was going so fast, i expected it to go fast (win 7, 64 bit os) for me too. :) it is a little scarey..no help, nothing to click. it started doing its thing and was taking forever on facebook. i tried to exit or skip, thinking it could be hung up, but no, it kept going. finally i closed the program. and then i did the whole thing again, and went off to do other things and realized it was going through everything. i would like it to tell me what it is doing. i.e., okay, it is checking these programs, but what does that mean? what will it get rid of, anything important? because there was such favorable response here i just said, 'okay, clean it up'. it says it cleaned up 397.2 mb in 2 min 19 sec. but...it took a lot longer to go through the apps prior to doing that. i've tested it. the phone has always been fast, and i don't really notice any difference, but i'm glad i did it.

I have not seen anyone mention that you are forced to install iTunes to your computer before this program will run. This seems to me to be a large drawback to using this product. When you hover over the "Why we need this? it is not clickable! So why do I need this. I disappeared my iTunes account years ago and have no use for it now.

I am curious why there are no mention of this. Or if anyone else had to do this that didn't happen to already have an iTunes account and just didn't mention it.

No, I am not an Apple person, never was and never will be! I have family members that are hooked on them, so very sad. I happen to be the family "Go To Guy" for any computer type questions for fixes, yeah lucky me. So with the fairly positive reviews I thought it would be a good tool in my Tool Box. Now I am not sure this is true if I am forced to add a program I will never use.

I miss Karl and The Gman's reviews on this product and hesitate downloading iTunes until I get some kind of positive response to this issue.

As an iPhone runs its apps, or gets information from the internet using a browser such as Safari, it saves info in "files", and uses memory. The files may be cached information, just as your computer browser, e.g., saves "temporary internet files". On your computer you have specified (or used the default value) for how much space can be used for this, and when full the browser deletes the oldest. Similarly for memory use. Clean when needed. Built in. Of course, some apps may be poorly written and not clean up well.

I use a free iPhone app named Battery Doctor. Runs on the iPhone. Says it has a special algorithm to more effectively manage battery charging. It also shows which apps are still running in the background and draining power (Facebook, FB Messenger are 2). That's not what this is about. It also has memory optimization, cache and file cleanup. And a few more features. The battery part may be useful. The memory optimization and cache cleaning, I believe, just as similar "tools" hawked for PCs, of little value. If they make you feel better, get Battery Doctor from the App Store. Check it at http://www.cmcm.com/en-us/battery-doctor/ (There's more than one if you search the App Store, but this one has several thousand downloads.)

Thanks, this is the type of app I would like to see more of. Not necessarily IOS apps, but again, apps that meet niche uses. After many years of browsing this site the last thing anyone can say is that it's an "Apple cart". I appreciate software which supports many devices, not just PCs, the world has changed. However, I really would like to see a quality application to backup Blu-ray discs.

The app does what it states it will do quite well, although as previously mentioned it doesn't actually do a secure wipe (unless I'm missing a setting). The full price also seems a little high as there are native IOS and Android apps that will perform the same services for free on either OS.

Also, it doesn't seem to support older IOS 4.21 devices. The software recognized the older devices, but when I clicked on the scan button nothing happened.

Uneventful installation on my computer and my wife's computer (both: 64 bit Win 8.0). Cleared Apps out of memory on our iPad Mini's (both: iOS 8.1.1), connected them to our computers and ran the Macgo iPhone Cleaner software. [Scan time= ~3 mins. Cleanup time= ~ 1 min.] It found 665 MB on mine and 495 MB on hers. Both are nearly two years old, neither had been cleaned during that time and some Apps were obviously running slowly. We left checkmarks in front of all Apps. to allow it to clean the amounts listed found from each of them. Re-booted and launched certain communications Apps. that we always want to run in the background.

After checking a variety of Apps. that had been running slowly, we both found ALL had notable speed increases. This program was simple and intuitive to use, while doing exactly what it says.

Heads up: application hung up trying to scan Ipad files because I had expired versions of magazines still listed in "Newsstand" and it could not locate the files and thus was trying to identify files which were no longer present. After I removed those, scanning and cleanup were successful. Therefore, clean up "Newsstand" before you scan.

Seemed to install okay on Win7-64, however it just sits there apparently waiting for a connection. The phone IS connected, I did unplug & re-plug with no changes. As well as shut the program down & restart. The popup I normally get from dropbox showed so I know the phone is connected.

Easily installed and setup. Cleaned both an iPhone 6 and an iPad Air. The latter cleaning was a bit aggressive as it 'cleaned' an issue of Wired Magazine off, but that isn't a fatal issue as that was easily re-installed. A definite keeper if you have iOS devices.

I rarely place comments but I thought I would on this as it seems to be a great tool. Simple to install and use, it couldn't be easier in fact, I wish more software was like this. Was amazed to see it found 1.1GB of junk (half of that was on Google!) Whether my phone runs faster or not I'll find out, but for 16GB of memory (only about 8 used) it must be beneficial to have all that crap removed. Thanks for the software.

I had no problems downloading and installing onto my Win7Pro; plugged in my IPhone 5 that I have had for approximately 14 months. Ran a scan and had 914 mb; Wow; I unchecked a few items as I was not sure what files would be erased (especially my pass word app) Phone seems to be working faster now!~ Imagine why!!Thanks GAOD for having this program and thanks to macgo for giving this to GAOD. I am also curious as to why there is no "About" to see the version installed.

Misleading information on their website where they claim to offer "Secure private data and files".
The app does not delete calls, messages, notes, photos etc. that you have deleted from your ios device.
They can easily be retrieved by recovery tools such as Fonelab after 'cleaning' your ios device using this Macgo app.
The app is also very expensive, compared to other tools like iMobie Phoneclean (which also does not secure your private data) or Wondershare Safe Eraser. Both have far more options than this one. Best tool that I know of is Wondershare Safe Eraser; it does a thorough cleanup of your ios device.

I might be missing something in your posting but I still had to put a comment here regarding your posting. This program states it is for IPhone; you mentioned you received downloaded files onto your android tablet after pushing on the thumbs down icon. Why on earth would you even have given this program a negative comment if you can't use it because you have an android device and cannot even use the program?
Just had to ask.

Reply   |   Comment by MarDel  –  9 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+22)

Okay, I'll answer, not that anyone will read it or care at this late hour:

(A) I've used the macgo-iphone cleaner on my iPhone and didn't like it. Hence a thumbs down.

(B) The fact that I was browsing with my Android tablet doesn't mean I *wanted* it for my Android!

(C) Seems every one of you missed the point altogether: when I clicked on a Thumb, the entire file DOWNLOADED onto my tablet! That is a weird and very upsetting anomaly, something that needed correction. It was never even addressed.

(D) If I ever come across anything "harmful" again, I'll be sure not to mention it.

This is a good tools. Installation is straightforward with no ads on my Windows 7 laptop. You just need to plug in your iPhone cable from your laptop/PC to an iPhone device. It took less than 2 minutes to scan and clean my iPhone 4s for the first time. I tested it for the second time, it took only 57 sec to rescan and 7 sec to reclean it. Worth to try. Thanks. :)

Installed PAINLESSLY on Win 8.1 on system with fast AMD processor I was not even aware that this was an issue that needed to be addressed. The program installed easily, no hoop-jumping emails /etc for registration, just run SETUP and you're done. I ran the program, only three total buttons: SCAN (with option to skip) and CLEAN. My Iphone 5c is a year old, and the program found 180 MB of junk, which it removed. Run time for the job was under 2 minutes. Definitely a keeper, and thank you to GAOTD and the author.

As I have known, the junk files have been classified into three categories:
1, Browser's cookies and cache.
2, All kinds of temporary files in the process of games, videos etc.
3, Chat history of image files.
If these kind of junk files is not been removed in time, iPhone's free space will decrease. Because many of the popular software isn't set the maximum cache, all will be stored in the phone, cache files take up the space even as high as 200-300Mb.Then it will slow down our iPhone system after a period of time. So we need to clean our device regularly. Now there are many similar clean software in the market, we had better to search. The difference of Macgo iPhone cleaner software with other software is that you can clean app directly or choose which app you don't want to remove. It deserves a shot, at least.

if you learn to read its for WINDOWS or MAC not android and just to click thumbs down without trying the software is the reason your getting negative on your comment.

Reply   |   Comment by Dan  –  9 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+42)

The thumbs up or down is intended as a vote on the quality of the software. It is not a vote on whether you personally need it or not.

Reply   |   Comment by pixelriffic  –  9 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+38)

Errr, no, Pixelriffic, the thumbs is a 'Rate It!' facility - not 'whether you personally need it or not'. That's the worst use of the clicking.
Surely it's a chance to try the software and THEN give your rating of how good it is at what it purports to do?
Download it, try it, rate it.
I wish GotD would disable the thumbs until after a reader has downloaded the day's offering. They know what we do - that's why we can yes/no each comment only once. At least then there'd be a better chance of getting more informed evaluations.

I thumbed you up. Being as GAOTD allows people to vote up or down for any reason, you should ignore people voting you down for your voting as you liked. I personally will vote down if I don't like the program offered, or if I don't like the way the program works. People on here have been griping for years about how others vote. Voting down because one doesn't like the program offered is a very valid way of voting and it counts. If GAOTD hasn't addressed it by changing the manner in which people can vote, then they must only care that one votes, not why one votes! Anyone someone voting up or down bc they liked the program or not is meaningless anyway. If you like or hate the program's functions, make a comment with the reason.
