Try contacting Ashampoo directly. I had a problem, sent them an email (mentioned Giveawayoftheday_ and got a response with an activation code, which worked as intended. I've been using the 2013 version for sometime and welcomed the upgrade.

Went through the registration process, filled in my email address on the web site (twice, using different gmail email addresses), still no email or registration info two hours later!

I've looked everywhere - spam folders, etc. - guess I'm the only one having this problem. I've done everything I can do, but I guess I won't be using this software.

Two features from iTunes that I would love to see in Ashampoo Burning Studio: 1. Gapless burning from MP3 to audio CD; and 2. Rip audio CD to one track (join CD tracks). When I burn a concept album or continuous mix from MP3 to CD using Ashampoo Burning Studio, there are slight pauses between tracks, which just ruins the experience. When I rip an audiobook or mix CD using Ashampoo Burning Studio, there is no option to make it one continuous track. Please consider adding these features to Ashampoo Burning Studio. Thanks for the software, that otherwise does the job pretty well.

If you install a program and then uninstall ashampoo offer totally free down to five programs. Are versions prior to today but work great but do not have all the options of the current version.
They sell software at low prices and with great discount specials that come to you by e-mail. They offer a personal account on the site and keep all password, which you can download in pdf format.

I also agree with Colin G and Ron, the emails that Ashampoo send are offers reference their software, if not interested just delete. I consider spam as something from accompany I have never dealt with and the subject matter is offensive.

The last version was 12.0.5 update 1, so you really don't seem to need this one unless you missed the last one.

I use several different programs offered by Ashampoo, I use them all, many of them I paid for. It is one of the best companies I have ever dealt with. They do send lots of emails, I read them all before deleting the ones I don't want. The emails many times have great discounts on their software.

Why should I buy Burning Studio 14 when Burning Studio 15 is getting ready to be released? Some day Burning Studio 14 will be offered as a giveaway just like Burning Studio 12 was about a year ago. Most Ashampoo software products will be given away sooner or later.

I tried this version of AShampoo Burning Studio. I had 8 video files totalling a little less than 4 hours. It took more than 10 hours to burn the resulting DVD. I contacted Ashampoo and was told to be sure hardware acceleration was enabled and that I had the current drivers for my system. I verified everything was up-to-date and correct and tried again. It still took over 10 hours to burn the same DVD. As a result, I uninstalled Ashampoo Burning Studio 2014 and informed them that if they fixed the problem, I would be willing to try again. They never got back to me. So, I can only assume that Ashampoo doesn't care all that much about me as a customer. So, I would suggest against using this program.

i was always satisfied with ashampoo burning sw, using different versions (i did buy some of them, used free one or (mostly) gotd. i wanted to update now my old copy, bu i cannot login to ashampoo page to get activation code... :-(
ps aggressive "spamming": i set filter in my gmail to place it (marked) in spam folder. so it dont disturb me and i quickly scan my spam folder every day - if i find their mail relevant and interesting, i can read it (not missing very nice offers)...

I could not install. I have Windows 7 Home Premium OS.
Upon trying to install this software, I got a pop-up window message:

IN ORDER TO CONTINUE WITH THE INSTALLATION, YOU HAVE TO ENTER A LICENSE KEY ! (below this, a blue button GET ACTIVATION KEY).

When blue button clicked, went to URL (which was webpage that couldn't open) http://linktarget.ashampoo.com/linktarget/?target=trial&edition=eid=18046

Tried, retried to install and rerouted to http://linktarget.ashampoo.com/linktarget/?target=trial&edition=eid=18046 but nothing but an error webpage appeared with messages:

This page can’t be displayed

•Make sure the web address http://linktarget.ashampoo.com is correct.
•Look for the page with your search engine.
•Refresh the page in a few minutes.

So how did others get the LICENSE KEY ? What is the correct URL ?

Reply   |   Comment by susie  –  9 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-1)

Both of the URLs that you gave above are the exact same one, and is: linktarget.ashampoo.com/linktarget/?target=trial&edition=eid=18046

Pasting this URL in the Firefox browser address bar, it reroutes to:
http://www.ashampoo.com/frontend/registration/php/trial_step1.php?session_langid=2&edition_id=gglhfas5og74b6phtgvgkz5rqdlrlras&ref=linktarget

...which is a longer URL and then brings up the correct Ashampoo webpage where you put in your email address to get your key. Did you mean that it reroutes to the last (longer) URL that I gave you above? Try that longer URL and see if the Ashampoo webpage comes up. You should still be able to bring up that webpage after the GOTD giveaway period is over and then still be able to get your key as well.

Is your Internet connection working correctly? If so and you still get an Error, then try a different browser. Otherwise, something is blocking the webpage from coming up ...may be an antivirus program on your computer or someting? Try temporarily disabling your antivirus program(s), or even your firewall, and see what happens.

That's all I can suggest.

Installed this version on Win7,Win8.1 and Win10 computers. Works well on all. Registration Key appeared in eMail almost instantly but copy & paste wouldn't work so I just typed it in. As with many "free" software programs, beware of the extras that are frequently packaged in. Just say NO. Using an eMail account that lets you filter out their incessant spamming is a plus. I am still getting their eMails from an install 4 years ago. I have never encountered a problem with Ashampoo software and don't anticipate any with this version. I have also never encountered a problem installing their software and can't fully understand some of the errors and problems in previous comments.

Anyway, two thumbs here!

I've used a few of Ashampoo's SW over the years and DL much more (it's free, after All on GAOTD!) I've always used one of my real email addresses. Now if I go to their site and log in with that address, I can access all of my licenses and even DL the software again.
Now that is real support from a reputable company. There are also special offers and sale prices. As far as unwanted email, it is slightly annoying but easily dismissed and and unsubscribeable. I mean, we must have a little bit of discretionary time are we wouldn't be on this site to begin with, right?

Problems, problems, problems. I'm "Saving Disc Image" and it seems to be stuck in an endless loop. The display continues to show "Saving Disc Image", the .iso file is 4.21 GB in size and not changing. If the problems is my system, they really should have put a timer and an error message in there. Further:

The display is "pretty", "oh so pretty," but it doesn't provide any information as does for example, the old, free program called "ImgBurn". Think I'll stick with with ImgBurn and dump this program.

Hey! it finally closed!

I've been using versions of Ashampoo Burning Studio for years and it has always worked well for me. I would recommend this giveaway to anyone who needs this type of program. They keep improving and expanding on Burning Studio and the new 2015 version (currently in beta) has even more features. Unfortunately they still have not implemented support for CD TEXT. If you have a CD player with a display, which is common in cars, CD TEXT makes it possible to show artist and track information while the music is playing.

I am working to install and I get to the pass key got it via email then to "users" and "desktop" and I click the appropirate boxes and then click next and I am getting hung at the first "ad" they want to offer you. It stops and spins and never allows me to go past that point it just hangs and won't allow me to even move the dot to "no thank you" so I can proceed for installation. My cursor is sitting with the "blue o" on it and it won't proceed forward. I have - control/alt/delete/" twice to end the set up to restart the set up and it's hanging at the same point every time...

Firewall is disabled to allow download and installation.

Any ideas?

Are you guys using any tracker/advertising blockers like Ghostery, NoScript, AdMuncher, Disconnect, etc., that might be accidentally blocking legitimate scripts from running (until you "train" them otherwise)? They can cause such behavior.

Clean cache and other leftovers with disk cleanup (or Glary Utilities and similar third party cleaners).

If it is still does not work, try rebooting as it resets everything.

Typically, my system is up for 4-5 days and when it starts behaving stupidly, I give it the old boot.

Sometimes also my ISP furnished router/modem seems to choke on data, in this case I hard boot it by removing the power for 15-20 seconds and everything resets itself properly.

Downloaded this last time it was offered and like it a lot.
Also upgraded to the 2015 version about two months ago.
The 2015 version seems to not alway recognise some of the disks
that i use, that worked on the 2014 version so i am a little
disapointed with the 2015 version. But i do still like it.

.
Have you tried using a recently-purchased CD or DVD?
That may be your problem - try using an old unused CD or DVD that you bought and forgot about a few years back. New disk formulas may have changed, and only old ones still work.
.
Another thing to try is go to your burner drive's manufacturer site and see if there is a firmware update to your disk burner. That may fix it so it works with newer blanks.
.
If that still doesn't work - try different computers. You have until the end of the giveaway to install it on other computers. It may work on one of those.

Hello,
Have ver. 2013 which works great.
Thank you Ashampoo and GAOTD.

Should I uninstall it before installing the newer 2014, or can I leave it and install 2014 "over it" in the same folder?

Would help if the generous providers of software will tell us whether un-install of older version is necessary or recommended,
Eldad

For those of you who want to know the difference between paid and giveaway versions:
If you want to burn a video DVD playable on standalone players you have to produce the needed files otherwise or use paid version.
I'm using these giveaway versions since several years and I edit etc. my video files with another well known paid software (which in contrast to many free and paid softwares never desynchronizes sound and video).
If there are other differences perhaps somebody could tell. Thanks!

If you want to burn audio CDs for standalone players or data CDs/DVDs this giveaway never failed me.

Hamster works perfectly for me, I don't know what is your problem ric?On googling it, only bad reviews are from cnet.com, which itself has a "dodgy" reputation for bundled adware downloads, I would not recommend anything from that site, including comments from way back 2012!! For anyone interested ....the "Fully featured paid for version " of Burning Studio 14 is ..................Ashampoo Burning Studio 14 - Version 14.0.5 - [14.0.5.10 (4010)]which I purchased in 2013 !
The "freebie" version will serve most users needs admirably ...and in spite of many users negativity towards Ashampoo's marketing methods..they do actually offer some excellent software and Studio14 is one of em' !
Now that Burning Studio 15 is on offer ...no doubt the Ver.14.0.5 program will be discounted very soon for those who need the added functionality ! Great burning tool and worth trying !

I received my key instantly. First you enter in your email address, while installing the program, then go to your email and look for . Open it and it will ask you to confirm your email address, click on the link and a new browser window opens showing your new key. Copy and paste all the info on that page into notepad and, or, take a screen shot of it with your preferred screen shot software. For me, I use SnagIT. Copy and paste key into empty key field to register the program.

Like others I don't burn stuff as often as I once did but I do backing up of some items occassionally and if I want to give some one some files.(Yes a USB stick does this easily but in my experience it's often 'bye-bye' stick as well 'cos they don't seem to get returned!) To that end I've used this program very successfully in the past- even this edition. Ashampoos edition numbers are a bit confusing I find. Free stuff and paid for stuff which is essentially the same seems to have different references. Like a lot of Ashampoos programs this is reliable and effective. Glad to have this to put on a new laptop I'm using at the moment.
I'm sure we'll get a lot of 'they do spam' comments today. I don't think their advertising regime really counts as 'spam'. To me spam is material out of the blue from some-one I've never heard of offering something in which I have no interest. Ashampoo sends adverts for programs that are in my general line of interest- I've bought some over the years at good prices. It only takes a moment to click on an email to see if it's interesting.
So if you want a burning program, go for this, I don't think you'll rergret it.

Hey...what's the difference between this GAOTD and Ashampoo Burning Studio 14?

Reply   |   Comment by Andrea  –  9 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-4)

The full, paid, version adds the ability to burn a DVD-Video disc, a disc playable on a non-computer DVD player with your TV, by just dragging your AVI or MP4 or MOV or other video files into the program and letting it burn. The paid version automatically does the conversion to the DVD-Video format and burns a DVD-Video disc.

And it does that well and simply!

This free version will burn a DVD-Video disc, but only if the original video files have been converted to DVD-Video format some other way. Which is usually fairly difficult. All other functions are there in this free version including CD ripping, ripping CD music discs to MP3 files, which nobody else has mentioned.

If you register this free version on the Ashampoo website, in one of their emails everyone is talking about you will get a substantial discount for the paid version in the email, a better discount than the program itself will show. But that could take a week or two after registration.

Just be careful installing it, it may (or may not) try to install a browser toolbar but you can UNcheck that if you don't want it.

the version you can buy is ashampoo 14 !

but ashampoo 2014 is allround very good and I have had it for years
it never grows old and and you install and uninstall as long as you like
to get rid of all ashapoos mail you have to log into your account and uncheck some buttons !

Of all the products in its stable, Ashampoo's Burning Studio is one of the very best. Now in its 14th version, the software long since displaced Nero's over-priced, over-bloated offering; for folks who aren't comfortable using class-act freeware like Imageburn, then Burning Studio 14 is the go-to.

Today's giveaway ain't it though, despite that proclaimed $49.99 price tag.

The clue is in the title: for its fully-featured commercial products, Ashampoo always states the version number on the packaging. For its stripped-down freebies, Ashampoo always states the year number on totally non-existent packaging that's actually worked up by its art department to serve as the kind of illustration shown at the top of this page.

A German software company, Ashampoo wouldn't get away with this kind of behavior were it based in the UK: consumer protection legislation prohibits false pricing. Why Ashampoo thinks it's necessary to attempt these (literally) cheap stunts is a mystery anyway: a stripped-down version of any of its software products may well suit a great many people.

Worth a download today, then, so long as it's understood that (a) this is an unlimited 'trial' version with various standard Burning Studio 14 features locked out and (b) far from being worth the $49.95 claimed for it on this page, the product has no financial value because it has never, ever been sold.

It's also worth noting that 'financial value' isn't a phrase easily attached to Ashampoo, because its retail prices are constantly changing. (For example, the full retail version of Burning Studio 14 was on sale direct from Ashampoo only 3 weeks ago at 80% off. That discount may well figure again in the Christmas holiday period.)

As for all the inevitable talk about Ashampoo spam . . .

Unwanted email from Ashampoo is as easily and as instantly blocked from arriving on your desktop as unwanted email from anywhere else: it takes but 2 minutes to go server-side to your disposable gmail account(s) and set filters there to make sure you never see an Ashampoo email again.

That said however, and bearing in mind the note above about Ashampoo's anything-but-fixed-prices, this developer often sends out heavily discounted offers for its other products. . . but of course, you'll never know that if you're blocking all Ashampoo emails. . .

Thanks, GOTD, and thanks, too, to Ashampoo. Be nice if it stopped playing such silly tricks though when it actually produces decent software.

"Unwanted email from Ashampoo is as easily and as instantly blocked from arriving on your desktop as unwanted email from anywhere else ... it takes but 2 minutes ...".

I find that 33Mail takes one second to kill the temporary mail account by clicking on the link in the mail.

@ gergn: agreed, instantly disposable email addresses are going to be useful for some people. I've not used 33Mail (10minutemail tested out OK for me) but I prefer to stick with my "fixed" email accounts spread across ymail, gmail, and Outlook. Each of them exist for a specific purpose, including software downloading and purchasing (as distinct from Amazon-style purchasing) via my PayPal account and, of course, there's no need to remember all the different passwords because this computer's password manager handles them all. Gmail, I find, has the best server-side filtering and spam mail stays on Google's computers -- never on my computer -- for 30 days anyway before being automatically trashed (unless I delete before then), so if I think some kind of error may have occurred in an online ordering or downloading process, at least I can go and check up on it in the server-side spam folder. Sadly, that's not possible with a briefly existing, quickly disposed-of email address.

I have some 33Mail addresses for a long time. If I am at Shop X and they ask me my mail address, I will give them ShopX@myname.33mail.com. That address will be in use as long as I am their customer. 33Mail will forward any mail to my normal mail address. I can define a user ShopX in Thunderbird in case I neef to mail them.

Ashampoo will send a lot of spam, but it's easy to filter it into a folder you might name "Ashampoo" or "Offers," or even "Junk." I have found their emails helpful in advising me of sales like the one mentioned above. But they don't come to my inbox.

I was using email before some of you were born, and I've always had at least one account for "personal" use (contacts, friends, play), one account for work (work, work, work) and one account for "garbage" (surveys, enemies, insistent websites). Can you guess which one I use for Ashampoo...?

"You can even erase and format old unwanted DVDs with only a few commands."

I think many of us would like to ask the company this:

"Are you saying we can not only ERASE old DVD's, but also RECORD on them again?"

I am not asking, of course, about DVD -RW or DVD +RW disks, as it is well known that these can be re-recorded hundreds of times.

The ability to erase and then RECORD AGAIN on a DVD -R disk, for example, would make this software a real trophy to many of us. (Especially if it could be repeated.)

I'm afraid you're out of luck, nothing really erased it just disappears from the list of files on the disc. :-)

Installed and registered without problems "the Ashampoo way" on a Win 8.1.2 Pro 64 bit system. During the installation I am entitled for a free driver test. I passed this... After the installation I can buy SlideShowStudio HD3, which I don't need for a special price either. Two additional icons on the desktop: CleverReach.de and YourSoftwareDeals, which can be deleted.

A Germany company with name and address.

Some interesting claims:
You can even erase and format old unwanted DVDs with only a few commands. I have a lot of old DVD's which I do not need any more. Let's see whether this works. And of course Ashampoo wants to earn money. That's fair:
and quickly order new blank discs from Amazon.

Upon start the program tells me, that it has found incompatible virtual drives. Okay, why not. The about states all used software parts from other producers. That's good. It should always be in that way, with links to the original companies. The software itself is one year old from November 2013.

In the settings you can define the temporary folder and to eject your disk after burning. It is enabled by default. Hmmm...

After the closing the first time, the program tells me, that there is a "premium" version available. I didn't want and as the next step, the program advertises their Movie Shrink & Burn 4 program. Ashampoo as its best. LOL

There are a lot of options from burning to backup&copy and "erase rewritable disk". Was that the reason, why my old disks could not be deleted (see the claim above!)

The design and print labels and booklets is a good and working addition.

A complete solution around disks, a real "Burning Studio". Use it, if you burn disks, print covers and the small booklets.

I have not burned a single disk since minimum two years. The price of the USB sticks (and USB drives) is the reason. But sticks have a big disadvantage (if you have many) you cannot print a label in the disk and not attach a booklet.

Uninstalled. I use for everything the USB sticks (&drives), starting from "recovery disks -> YUMI" to video photo and backups.

And a hint (again). Load and use the latest built 1.3 of the AOMEI PE Builder.

http://www.aomeitech.com/pe-builder.html

You'll get a complete recovery environment including utilities and Web Browser. And you can add your portable software by yourself. Attention: Does not work on Win 8.1. Use Win 8.0 or 7.0, but you can USE the Windows 8.1 ADK.

We are all too familiar with Ashampoo’s spamming abilities, below may help you to defeat it, a list of throwaway e-mail addresses.

Ashampoo doesn't spam unscrupulously. When you give them your e-mail address, you can unsubscribe and they honour that. At least, that's been my experience for the past few years and I can log into their site and get a list of my keys.

Not been as fortunate as you Rolo; after many attempts eventually stopped them spamming me but when I downloaded another program for testing they started sending it again to the same e-mail address, this behaviour is unacceptable.
A pity as they do some good programs, but I won't test them unless their are exceptional, too much hassle!

Once you give them your email addy, it would be best if you finished up the online registering of your Ashampoo account that way you can access your account and then unsubscribe from all email offerings. It's simple to do.

Thanks Ashampoo & GOTD.
I think this is Burning Studio 2014 Version 14.0.9.
I have Burning Studio 2014 Version 12.0.5.
It would be good if GOTD or Ashampoo informs users of the version number being offered.

Yes, Martin you are right. Found that out when installed this GOTD version.
But never mind, this one is a 12.0.5 Update 1 version.
So maybe there is some difference from non-update old 12.0.5 version.
