Third update of this via giveaway :) It does have a steep learning curve but once you figure it out it does what it says it'll do pretty efficiently. Whether it's worth the effort to figure it out is up to the user

Installed on my WinXP 32 without any problems.
Nice basic program but needs a lot more encoding settings for my liking. Looks good for finding Artwork and lyrics but a very poor CD ripper. Probably one the the most basic rip settings I have ever seen with the choice of only 5 constant bit-rates.
MusicBee makes this program look like a toy, except MusicBee is free!
I doubt that I will be keeping this program for long,

I've been a GOTD user for a few years but rarely comment. I do not understand all of the confusion over this SW. I am 70 years old and have over a hundred SW installed on my Windows Vista laptop. After trying today's offer, I am surprised at the mostly negative response to a SW that I thought would be roundly praised.

While this is not the easiest program to master, I used it today to edit my MP3 files and tags and, after and hour or so, feel I know my way around.

I edited tags and MP3 file names on almost 3000 of my 6000+ MP3s. I have other tag editors but this is superb. I did tasks I thought I could never do because of their complexity. Many MP3s had wrong or no tags. Many file names had Artist & Titles missing or reversed.

Every one of these problems I have fixed and plan to do the remaining 3000or so when I have some spare time.

My advice is to TRY some of the buttons and use a bit of experimenting. The more I used it, the more it all made sense. Playing the MP3s in Winamp gave me immediate feedback on my work.

This is without a doubt the most feature-rich tagger I have ever used.

Installed Windows 7 64bit
Program works great for finding Album Cover Art or Lyrics and other missing file information (artist, album, etc). It has a TON of other options to remove, change, export the MP3 to another format, update the ID3 information in the MP3. You can also rename the files based on the ID3 tags using simple but very powerful substitution strings.

One of the most powerful commands is the "Send to auto tagger" an it will automatically find all the information. I tried this on an album that was just released today (Maroon 5 V) and it already had all the information in the database including the cover art, Lyrics etc.

A few key hints:
A library is a location where you want the program to find and review your MP3 files. (Such as My documents/Music)

You can left click on a file shown in your "library" and a menu pops up with many options.

Zortam isn't easy to understand, but, if you create a folder, and put just a few MP3's in that folder, and work only with that folder just to grasp how Zortam works, it really helps. Zortam does many more things than listed. Honestly, it's not for the novice. So work with it, and you won't be a novice. Good program.

Hello there!

Thanks to GAOTD and Zortam I had this soft on my computer since I know GAOTD. I have used it very little though. The reasons are:
1. Zortam has a steep learning curve
2. It uses technical expressions which I could not find any explanations for anywhere (maybe I am just too old for it)
3. The prog and its interface are not self explanatory
4. The help forum is a jungle. I got lost there every time I went for help.
5. Each of their updates has disappointed me: After so many editions, I still do not know how to use this soft.
6. Others have mentioned it, but here it is again: this does not help me with my iTunes' music libraries' tags-mess, because
7. it only works with mp3 (and even reluctantly so)
I still keep it, hoping, that some day, maybe, I might figure it out...

So thanks and cheers
Yaacov

I'm not sure whether the program is any good or not because there do not appear to be any instructions on how to use it.

If you go to the help section your options are "online forum" and "additional help online" Both links go to the same web page.

The second item on this page is " How to use Zortam Mp3 Media Studio - YouTube presentation ". Yipee, just what I wanted. So I play all 7+ minutes and I see the screen and the cursor moving around and clicking various things allthewhile MUSIC IS PLAYING WITH NO NARRATION WHATSOEVER. So if you don't already know how to use the program, good luck.

"analyse tracks based on the sound" would be a wonderful feature: does anyone know a good software supporting this?

Installed on Windows 7 64bit with no problems.
Tossed about 400 MP3 files at it and in a few seconds it displayed all the file information. I picked a few files that did not have Covers and the program found and downloaded covers. One of the covers was incorrect but for the most part it found the right ones.

Editing MP3s isn't mentioned. Yet, it is essential for a tool claiming all-in-one capabilities, let alone charging money. In fact it is done by many free tools.

Downloaded, installed and activated.
Tried the software.
Cannot figure out how to use it and what to do with it.
Does not support drag and drop of MP3 files.
It seems must put MP3 songs into a "library" before it does anything.
Did that and still unable to get anything out of this software.
It seems not to accept Unicode. Although Unicode names can be pasted, the internal workings of software replace any Unicode text with ???.
Menu is there but what does it do and how does it work?
Not intuitive to use.
Uninstalled because no user needs the aggravation. Just kill it.

Installed and registered without problems on a Win 8.1.2 Pro 64 bit system.

A company without name and address:
Zortam is a growing provider of advanced music distribution technology.

We provide businesses and consumers with an integrated environment where they can view, play, organize, and purchase multimedia content.

A crowded interface opens, explorer like with music information section, player and enough options to tag, sort, search and play songs.

Oops! Unfortunately the system crashes on my computer while searching a drive for MP3 files :

Zortam Mp3 Media Studio doesn't work.
Problem Details:
Name : BEX
Version 17.0.0.0
Time Stamp: 54001c12
Exception Offset : 000cd78b
Exception Code: c0000409
Exception Data: 000000

Well this simply should not happen. Cannot continue test, it crashed always during search.

Uninstalled via reboot.
