@rarneeded, @Edgar: RAR3/RAR5 and TrueCrypt support is implemented in Passcovery Suite. AccentRPR - a separate product for RAR archives. Links are presented on the same page.

But one should be ready for even lower speed indices. Moreover, as for RAR, the speed will depend on the archive size (protection peculiarity).

@all: Successful recovery - nobody can guarantee it. We cannot promise it too.

It is obvious - the purpose of data protection is to make cracking difficult. It remains to create check ranges (position mask, mutation, combination of dictionaries, etc.) and to carry out checks at the highest speed. Our software can do it successfully.

There are a few video tutorials on our YouTube channel

I don't see this mentioned anywhere, and it's a little late now, but it looks to be only a year license. It says

"Key is valid (374 days left)."

I downloaded it because I had a zip file a long time ago for which I couldn't remember the password I'd used, however first I have to find it before I can try this out. I imagine that will not take more than a year, hopefully...usually I don't put passwords on zip boxes anyway.

ONE DOWN SIDE!
On my registration e-mail it says :-
"Key is valid (374 days left)"
So presumably on day 375 it stops working.
At $40 a year to 'rent' the program for personal use only, is too expensive".

Hi, not ideal, but in the past I used and found useful tiny (free) prog 'SnadBoy' dealling with 'forgotten passwords', if anyone is interested to give it a go - here's a link --- http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Password-Managers-Generators/SnadBoy-s-Revelation.shtml#

Not sure if it 'moved with times', but I seem to remember that it did work for me and what I needed it for.

@michael #17 and ALL.
You said "... mixture of alphabets ,symbols and numbers and if you do not know any part of the password then it will take hundreds ...".

No! only days!
As always, it all depends on the computer's 'ability'.

My computer is only basic and cheap, so faster computers will do it quicker than mine!

I've tested and also done the maths and been surprised just how easy it is to crack passwords!

In 'brute force' mode it has just cracked a test password of "abc-*123" (notice 8 digit with symbols!) incredibly quickly!

I AM going to increase the length of my past and present passwords, all I've got to do is find a way to make sure I do not forget 'the new system of password creation'.

You are right about "a mixture of alphabets, symbols and numbers" is good defense, but also the longer passwords are better (so do both).

If it is important to find the password, so what if it does take 10 days non stop processing.

I have done 'quick mathematics' and think 16 digit using a mixture of alphabets, symbols and numbers is a good length to halt 'Brute Force' methods. BUT! in a few years, faster computers equals quicker 'crack times'! but I still think 16 is a satisfactory minimum length for most passwords for many years to come.

One last note, if you pass comment that you only use passwords with "a mixture of alphabets, symbols and numbers", it means that if someone does want to crack your password, by adding a filter "must be all types of character", it severely reduces the 'Brute Force crack time'!

Win 8.1 ...
Worked at an average of 12,000,000
Cracked a 6 digit test in under 4 minutes.
Processed over 3,000,000,000 passwords to find the correct one.
I have decided from now on I need to make my passwords longer!
It works well.

This software is a toy, my zipped files are scrambled with long random characters key and then vaulted in another long and different password.
This software is useless even on ZIP files only, the passwords are not going to be cracked in a billion years, your computer will die long long long time before even one character is matched from the password.

all these so called "zip password recovery programs" are pretty useless because if the password is more than 8 characters long and is a mixture of alphabets ,symbols and numbers and if you do not know any part of the password then it will take hundreds or even thousands of years to crack the password even with a supercomputer.this software is best used on zip archives of which you are the owner and remember some part of the password.don't think of trying to crack other peoples zip archives with this software as it might take a million years to crack the password and by that time the human race would be extinct.

#10 Karl.
Hardly unexpected, but no joy using the default cracking process in the time it estimated.
This will be no surprise to anyone who has needed to crack an encrypted zip file in the past; it is a shame they gave us the standard version as it would have been interesting to see the results with and without a GPU.
Unless there is a backdoor it is very difficult to extract the data from a protected file if it has a decent password, certainly I am more than happy to use compression programs to secure my data.

Sadly, I was not referring to the type of comment you reference.

Give this a chance it is faster than other zip pass crackers that I have tested. This software is very quick even though there is no GPU support. Evidently the reason for the lack of GPU processing is due to a patent restriction in the USA.

Thumbs up ! I've been trying to unlock a zip file for the past 6 months now. Although I've given the file a very simple pw (jpG) I couldn't remember. PW was "cracked" within seconds. Great & Thanks for makin' my day.

@XP-Man:
RE: Off Topic

I understand your point, but if I were to guess, the cases that resulted in negative or "not helpful" votes probably fell into one of these three categories:

1) It was not the proper medium or venue for the question.

2) The question was something that if the person had tried the software being offered, would have found their answer, so the only reason they are asking is to circumvent the whole try and learn process; wanting the end result to be handed to them, without any effort on their part.

3) The question, if answered, held little value, educational or otherwise, to those who voted the item with "not helpful" votes.

As a small test I have uploaded a ZIP file with a 8 characters password - only Roman Letters small&capital. It is a simple text, which you surely know.

The ZIP method is AES-256. Try it... Have fun!

It is assumed that the user will only be trying to crack zip passwords of his own documents.

This should not be used to unlawfully crack the passwords of other people's zip documents, so as to steal their secrets.

This is basically a guessing software.

One way to avoid being in a situation where you forgot your own password is to record it somewhere else.

Or if your documents are not national defense secrets - is to always use the same password that you memorised.

Sometimes password guessers use "dictionary".
Oh, if a user has a 10 character long password with random English + Chinese language characters + Thai language characters; how long will this software take to crack the password?

Installed and registered without any problems, decided to a do quick test using the old (weak) zip method of encryption.
When attempting to open the above file on clicking on My Computer a blank window appeared, no drives listed!
Found a way around this and managed to open my test file. Found very simple four upper case letter password immediately, on a second test with a simple seven letter upper case password claimed it would take 10 min at around 70,000 passwords per second.
When it did present the answer it kept telling me I could upgrade to something useful, that is one using the GPU, the basic addition being purely a stepping stone for sales to more expensive programs.

Many years ago I needed to crack the password in a zip file encrypted with the old method, there was one sure way of doing this if you had the right password cracker.
The old system had a very basic flaw in that if you knew the contents of one file it could work out the three keys needed to extract the information and fortunately it contained an EULA and I knew the contents, it still took minutes, but it worked.

Off topic.
Recently a level of unpleasantness has begun to permeate this site; people offering/requesting help have been heavily marked down, yesterday for example one comment resulted in 21 No votes.
If we lose these types of comments the value of this site will be diminished; may I request that this petty mindedness is discontinued and instead you have the guts to post a comment.
Personally I have found this site very useful in that it has helped me when I have encountered problems, please a little courtesy!

Not to discuss about "vulnerabilities". A TrueCrypt file with a longer password still cannot be cracked.

@ rarneeded #4

No, I don't know a good RAR-password cracker. You can use any free cracker, that supports dictionary attacks. There the speed is not the main point. If the password is in a password list, than it will be found within hours or days. Large dictionaries can easily be 15 GB and more. The will be compiled for example by all words found at the library of Gutenberg.org - passwords like "Athen", "supper" or "nightingale" will be found fast - Hng&5%65" is most likely not found in any book. Here can help a dictionary with all leaked passwords. The idea behind is, that only a limited amount of people are creating new passwords and that most likely they will use this password in more then one RAR or ZIP file.

Google for password dictionaries. The bigger ones will have money for their work.

Instead of cracking a password, try to find, whether somebody has the content not encrypted on his server...

Installed and registered with problems (turns to unregistered after successful activation, finally way activated) on a Win 8.1.2 Pro 64 bit system.

A company without name and address: Passcovery Co. Ltd. released its first high-speed, professional software solutions for recovering lost passwords in 1999. Today, the company's software is successfully used by law enforcement, government agencies, corporations and private individuals around the world.

Hmm, what should I say?

A small resizable window opens, you select your .ZIP file (recognizes only ZIP) and start cracking...

And now comes the nice thing: the program tells you (in my case), that it would need an "estimated time" to crack the password of 1:27 h:m. That's good. It is the first time in my life that a password cracker gives me an estimated time. I would have expected something like 1.3 billion years or 800.000 years if you use parallel computing with a 1.000 PC cluster or something like this.

It tells me after opening a file, that the maximum supported password length is 63 (roughly estimated: more passwords than molecules in the universe...)

Brute force or mask supported brute force does not make sense on longer passwords.

The only method with a certain chance really to crack a password is the "dictionary" attack. But this program does not deliver large dictionaries, nor gives it links or hints where to download the big ones.

In my test case the password cracking speed is about 100.000 passwords per second. No, it will not finish in about hour. Or maybe yes? Finishing and telling me, that I need more time.

No, the program is fair, really! It tells me that a key with 12 digits, only Latin small&big characters will need roughly about 131 million years, days not counted, with a cracking speed of 100.000 per second. Increasing this speed by 1000 would reduce the time to some lousy hundredthousand years... : It is not only the time needed, thing of your energy bill 1 million years later. Incredible!

Use it, if you play lotto. If you don't play lotto, than you know, that you will not crack anything but Mom, Dad, Sweetie, Test or Master.

Uninstalled via reboot.

This is the BASIC version of the software and does not support GPU, even though the product description on GAOTD says that it does.
Misleading and deceptive.
