Paulo, you are correct about you should have owned the program, but Adobe is putting the Key Codes right on their web site for anyone to access. CS2 is too out of date for most modern computers as per Adobe but if it is all you can afford, it is a great freebee. Personally I have CS6 but most can't afford or don't need to afford a $2300 program. I was actually suprised to see all the key codes for all the CS2 programs. It is way less complete than CS6 but it is also 8 years old. The flip book program worked in Win8 x64 but is missing bells and whistles. Some frames, big deal. I tried it with 8 photos and it worked great but to hear it does not work with over 10 photos, it will be deleted if that is the case. I had a much better one once but can't remember the name. I am sure I got it here at GOTD but lost it when my hard drive crashed. Now I save every program with Cameyo and back that up. If I lose my hard drive, I will still have all the GOTD registered programs.

This is useless.
This software cannot process only 300 photos.
After import the file, an error is displayed spree.

@ 33 James Madison; 37 agrib; 38 Marty Cordova, if you are still around when this post appears:

I thought the same but decided to create the flipbook nevertheless and, O surprise, all my photos were there! This 10 pages limit is only on the window where you finalize settings.

I admit this is even more misleading than the “Quit” button you have to click the first time you want to enter the program…

“Free templates” require Flip PDF/ Flip PDF Professional, so they don’t work with Flip Image.
“Free dynamic and concise Scenes” require Flip PDF/ Flip PDF Professional, so they don’t work with Flip Image.
Free Themes work with Flip Image.

I tried more than 10 images in a project and flip-book creation preview truncated at 10 images (even though it didn’t give an error). When I converted the flip-book to an exe, it had all 15 pages. Apparently, it's just the preview that is limited to 10 pages.

PDF creation and TIFF creation also worked with more than 10 pages.

Thanks a lot for all your feedback, I'm glad to answer your some questions here:

#10. About sharing, you can only share published photo albums, so please publish your gallery first, then click "Share" button to share via email, or on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc..

#12. It provides HTML output type, and you can click "Convert to FlippingBook" to enter into output interface to choose output type.

#13. Ghostscript is a kind of render engine to convert your images to flip book pages. It's freeware, you can download and install to convert your images. Don't worry.

#33,#37. The 10 pages are just for quickly previewing your applied book effect, you will get all pages converted in your output gallery, just check your output book.

About "Redo" and other features, we will consider to develop in later big upgrade versions, you can track our newseltters here: http://www.flipbuilder.com/newsletter/newsletter.html.

Flash has been out for quite some time now - it was beaten into the dustbin of history by jQuery as far back as in 2010. It is no longer supported in mobile devices (no more player plugins, etc.), iPads, Androids, etc.

Thank you GOTD, but maybe you can look into presenting some premium jQuery sliders here soon?

Program downloaded on WIndows 7 64 bit with no issues. Registered easily. When adding more than 10 photos to a book and then converting to a flipbook, only 10 pages would convert. Didn't see this restriction anywhere. Cute program...ability to do some minor editing and add frames. Sound effect of pages turning is a nice touch. Way overpriced for what it is, but a solid giveaway today.

I am very disappointed with this flipping software. You can only get a booklet, LOL, and not a book. Out of 46 photos it created a "book" containing only 10 photos. What a shame!!!!

Installed easily on my Win7 64bit. Great program, created a flip image on 12 photos no problem.

Tip, after installing, go to the companies website and download lots of free background scenes/themes to use for your flipbook.

Cons: A redo feature would be great.

Installed and registered smoothly. Lives to it's claims. A real good piece of software, and free thanks to GAOTD, I wanna say a big thanks.

About the $100 price, it all depends on your use of it. If it can make you more than $100, then I won't consider it expensive, and I know many ways it can make much more than that.

If you don't need it, then there is no need to spend $100 to acquire it and so there's no need to complain about the price.

Since, we are getting it free, it is only normal to show some appreciations and not whine about the price. It's not forced on anyone.

Thanks a lot GAOTD, and Flip Buider for the free gift.

After running a test publication, I observed that while the images look great, texts are somehow distorted and not very legible. Maybe something the developers can look into.

Installed and ran okay - did what it said it would in making a *.exe file. However, once a watermark was added, there seems to be no provision to alter the size or transparency of the watermark and, more importantly, no way to remove it. Further, it includes the same watermark on all subsequent flip books made.

Uninstalled and re-installed twice and still showed the watermark added to the first file on the first install. A feature like this needs to be more controllable and more importantly, removable.

Uninstalled finally in exasperation.

Very little has been said above about the actual functionality of this software, so are some things that I found that did not work correctly as I tested it on four different combinations of photos:

- Load directory including sub-directories. Did not work, only got the photos in the main folder.

- Single page display, NOT double page. No matter how I tried to make it do so in the configuration area, I always got a two-page spread "open book" style of output. On a PC this may be fine, but on a mobile device I would only want a single page to fill the screen otherwise individual pages would be rediculously tiny.

- When flipping through the finished book, the left-hand page is displayed backwards. ie. if the photo has a sign in it, the sign reads in a mirrored fashion... totally rediculous.

- The amount of "curl" animation is very small and cannot be resized. This is disappointing for two reasons. a) the very small curl lacks impact b) the active area for the flip is annoying; one has to go hunting for the exact coordinates which I think would really turn off many viewers.

- Frames are lifted exactly from other software, even in the same order, and chosen from an identical window. I used to design application icons. The software that I used to create the *.ico file (for XP) is where these frames were stolen from... and they weren't very good in the first place !

It is possible that others haven't found these problems. Still I mention them as since they arose for me they will no doubt arise for you at some point, to your embarrassment.

I had a few other minor gripes, but I think this should suffice as the reason why I have uninstalled Flip Image with a very solid thumbs DOWN. Plagiarism and significant shortcomings for such a high price? I don't think so ...

Thank you GOTD for the opportunity to test this out.

Can't add more than 10 photographs. 10 photos doesn't make much of a book, heck, it doesn't make much of a flyer. Oh! and the 10 includes both front and back cover.

I think I'll pass and just stick to creating slide shows.

The price seems a bit high and I just downloaded several free Adobe programs that offer much more. Adobe has the CS2 Creative Suite free at http://www.adobe.com/downloads/cs2_downloads/index.html. Yes, it's old (2005) but I'm not a professional designer and having Illustrator, Photoshop and several other programs free is great. I have Win 7 and adjusted the CS2 program settings and all programs work fine.

I agree with "antiquated" and "10 years back." The problem is that Flash itself is antiquated. The number of devices supporting it is shrinking rapidly, especially mobile devices. (Can you say "iPad"? The latest Android comes without Flash support out of the box as well.)

If this software could create an HTML5 flipbook I'd sit up and take notice. Otherwise, meh.

Thanks for letting us try it, however, the developer is 10 years back in such software and functionality.
I had many similar software in the past that did much better job of flipping, like auto flip, adjust the time sequence between the flips, insert music or narrative sounds, text and many other features that are missing in today's offer.
This is OK to try it and impress your 5 year old, I'm just uninstalling it after this post.

To Gordon (#):
Thanks a lot for your advise about free alternatives.
As I happen to be seeking flip book software (preferably freeware), using image and/or text files to create the book, I grabbed your advice and tested on my XP. Here are a few remarks for those who might want to try software recommended and today’s GOTD by you:

– Have not tested the FlashPageFlip_FreeVersion yet as it is requires some more time;

free-photo-to-flash-flip-book: the proportions of images whose proportions are different from those implied by the template are destroyed and the images are spread across the whole page, which make them look like caricatures. TODAY’S GOTD is free from this defect and correctly displays images of different proportions.

yBook2: Does not properly recognise characters in languages other than English. Viewing page by page is highly inconvenient. Good idea, poor execution, programme offered prematurely;

free-pageflip-3d-lite: as above as to the recognition of "strage" characters; graphic and other features seem promising but I gave up further testing of the software;

Thanks for your advice anyway and hope you’ll share your exprience with us in the future.

Best regards
Marek

Installed quickly and I like the fact that we don't have to register at an additional website to get the license key. As a quick test, I grabbed some pictures I took recently and made a flipbook from them. The flip book was created very quickly. One con I see (and it might be because I need to play with it more) is that it defaults to landscape for all the pictures (even the ones that it shows in portrait in the left hand column), so if you are making a flipbook with mix of landscape and portrait photos, you will spend a lot of time just rotating the pictures, when it seems like this is something the program should be able to do easily and by default.

#18-If what you say is true then it must not be doing a good job checking because I use monitoring software and can still install these programs.

I use monitoring software to see whether problematic entries are being made to my registry and so I know what is safe to delete when I uninstall software from my pc.

The main problem with the way these packages were given away is that you could copy the original setup file from a specific folder, during installation, Certain vendors, who don't mind you having that file, will make it available for re-downloading as pat of their giveaway offer.

As for the product, there are a great number of customization options. If you don't want a lot of white space around your photos, experiment with the page layout settings. In order to get to choose templates, you need to "Publish to FlippingBook."

For those who have Photo to FlipBook--this is different.

This is a far superior product to any free alternatives.

Ok, so I thought I would look at some of Gordon's offerings. I chose the first one http://www.flashpageflip.com/FreeFPF.asp. I clicked on their online tutorial. It is 9 minutes long, has no sound and is of very poor quality. To use this program you must create your pages ahead of time and then edit an xml file. So there is no comparison as far as ease of use goes. Since this program is FREE, why would anyone suggest other free alternatives that are inferior?

Downloaded, installed and tinkered with. VERY minimal program. I wouldn't have given $99 for it in the 80s when this would have been like watching UFO's land (mythical and futuristic). They have FREE templates but you're not allowed to have them. Huh. They're free right? Oh only if you paid $99? Huh. And they pop up a bug report that also pops up their webpage wanting you to go pro and an email opens so you can email them. Um No. Thanks but I'll stick with freebie programs that do more and I cuss less.

Unleash the hacker: if you look into the installation directory you will find a pdf2swf.exe module that works from command line.
If you google it you will find this website.

If you installed one of those free pdf printer drivers, you can start from a picture collection, "print" it to pdf and then convert it into a photo album for free in just a few steps.

#7 Marcus, the GCD file is the actual instalation program, but it is encrypted so no-one can install it outside of the limits set by GAOTD.

People were using monitoring software to see exactly what files and registry values were made during instals. That alowed them to copy them and make a copy of the software that could be installed anytime and on any computer. Software companies became reluctant to allow their software to be given away on GAOTD then as they felt people could steal it then.

In order to continue offering software, GAOTD had to stop people doing that, so now they use another companies software to make a secure installer. It checks to make sure no software is monitoring the installation first and then it allows the GCD to be decrypted. That also has to connect to the internet to ensure the program is being installed during the offer period. If everything is alright, then it will install.

Wow! It's just like flipping the pages of a real book! Except there is no paper. And it's on my computer screen. And I have to use my mouse. Maybe it's not much like a book after all.

I flip things on my iPhone all the time. iPhone flipping is fun! This thing got really boring after about three pages.

I know lots of things I would rather spend $99 on. You want a list?

I like this, and like all flipbook makers. But in this version I found a few problems:
- no undo, just reload. When I make a few modify, but latest is wrong, I just reload original picture, and make again from start.
- when put a frame to pictiure, I cannot remove with right click, menu is disabled (like no frame, but there is)
- no "print" preview before send to PDF or Flipbook. This feature will better if I select different layouts for pictures.
- reload latest project on every open, but no selected Save project when Exit option in File menu

My Pros for this program:
- make directly PDF from pictures
- make multiply TIFF
- insert to an exist PDF file
- customizable layout (row and columns per page)
- De-skew for scanned images
- use direct scanner as source
- PDF encrypt
and more...

If bugs will fixed, then this program will great!

Kathy (#4): The "time-limited offer" refers to the 24-hour period you have to install it. With a few exceptions that are usually clearly noted, the giveaways will last as long as your computer. They can't be moved from one computer to another or re-activated if lost in a crash or re-format. The purpose of this is to hopefully get people to actually pay for a more permanent copy of the software if they like it.

If your downloads are crapping out after a certain length of time, or showing "trial version" or asking you to register, etc., There was probably a problem when you downloaded. Make sure to check the readme.txt file with each download. The programs don't always install and activate the same way.

Downloading now to test if it will work on Windows 8 - running in compatibility mode for Windows 7.

.......

Installation process:

This GCD file stuff concerns me....what's it in aid of *EXACTLY*.
Yes so it's to make sure the program installs correctly, but what is it doing *exactly*? In these days where privacy is like gold-dust, I think it's justified to be somewhat concerned at this.

Aaaaanyway.....

Installation process very quick, pretty easy stuff - run of the mill really.
The splash screen where you put the serial to register it may confuse some people. Just click "Quit" where really it should say "continue".

Runs fine in compatibility mode for Windows 7 run as admin, no problems on Windows 8 x64.

Looks okay, haven't fully tested the product but it seems to be working well so far.

Thanks for the giveaway, GOTD.

Everytime I see "time limited offer", we end up with something that works for a trial period then we have to buy or uninstall. Pls expand on your definition. Picture Trail is an online fun thing I tried but not really user friendly. IF this is lifetime or rather computer lifetime usage, great. If we get it for a month or a year then it self destructs, lol, I be disappointed; but it does look good, I went over your website. Very well put together. Will give it a whirl and thank you.
